Ques. How are Ragging Issues handled at IISER?

Ans. IISER provides Anti-ragging Squads and Hostel-level Anti-ragging Squads who work to oversee the implementation of the recommendations. A team comprising the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Proctor and the Wardens would conduct an individual as well as joint sensitisation programme for freshers and seniors regarding the ills of ragging and the necessity of its eradication. It is also mandatory to submit an undertaking by students and their parents. It is imperative for all employees of the IISER (teaching, non-teaching, outsourced service staff, watch & ward staff, maintenance staff and cleaning staff) to report promptly any case of ragging/misbehaviour that comes to his/her notice to any of the following: Deans, Registrar, Head of Departments, Wardens or any other available authority/faculty member. Undertaking from Students and Parents. Each student of the Institute and his/her parents and/or Guardian are hereby required to submit a combined undertaking at the time of registration, in the prescribed format as attached to this order, which is mandatory for registration.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees is Semester-wise 68000 rs for 1st sem and 60000 rs for 2nd sem for Caregories like General, EWS, OBC. Per year the total fees expense will be around 135000 rs including hostel. For SC and ST category the Semester fees is around rs 18000 ( ig it is 17500 rs per semester). Their total per year well be around 40000rs. Mess not included in both cases. Scholarships which is provided is INSPIRE scholar which college authorities will take into their hands will submit form and everything. Student can apply for thier state scholarship or any government scholarship by themself and can approve it from acadamic office. You can also apply for any private scholarship you want.

Total estimated fee (GEN/OBC/EWS/KM)- 4,76,000 SC/ST available 100% scholarship on tution fee. Total estimated fee (SC/ST/PD)- 1,08,000 Tution fee varies a bit each semester - 37,000(roughly) Registration fees - 200 (per sem) At the time of freezing your seat you have to pay 37,000 (as of 2024) Hostel charges - 2000 (per semester) Mess establishment charges - 5200 (I think it's one time payment) Lab, computer, and other facilities calculates roughly around 4000 (per sem)

REVIEW OF IISER KOLKATA

Fees and Financial Aid:

The respective charges for 1st semester are: i) Admission fees(Registration fees, alumni, medical examination and insurance) = 3700 ii) Semester fees = 46155 (Tuition fees for general: Rs44,455 and 0 for SC/ST/PD Lab fees : 500) iii) Hostel Fees(Seat rent, Electricity and drinking water supply) = 8550 iv) Caution Deposit = 3000 v) Thesis and convocation fee = 1000 This all counts to Rs 62,405 for first sem. As per their shared data the approx fees for one semester is Rs56,205. which adds up to 10 sems with medical charges and equals the total fees for five years i.e Rs 5,75,750. I'll be getting the INSPIRE scholarship and others might get other scholarships. The topper for first two sems are awarded with C.N.Rao award along with some cash prizes.

The total fees I am paying per semester is 62,405. Including tution fee 44455, Hostel Charges 8550. For SC, ST total fees is 17,950. Financial aid available for students are Scholarships from the institution after clearing the national level exams JEST JAM CSIR-NET.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Overall Semester fee per semester( per 6 months) for BS-MS course is approx 43000 to 44000 which includes 7500 for mess establishment charge and hostel and wifi charges. Uf we talk about only tution fee , it is 33000. For sc-st , tution fee is waived. They only have to pay other charges excluding tution fee that is approx 9000 to 10000. If you are qualified kvpy then you get inspire scholarship which is 70000 per year approx. Othan this , if you belong to poor family being obc and general, yes there are funds available for their easiness but you have to ask for it in the academic section. I got admission in 2019 that time per semester fee was 41000 now, in 2024 it is 44000 per semester, now you can easily calculate how much it is increasing per year.

Life at IISER - A Glimpse

Fees and Financial Aid:

We pay 1 lakh per annum for everything including hostels, lab fees, library charges etc. Only daily food charges are not covered. For general, OBC and EWS categories the fee is the same. But for SC/ST the fee is around 46k per annum. INSPIRE scholarship is allocated to students here, worth around 70k per year if you're in the top students of your board after 12th STD.

the course structure is well up to date and quite fun.

Fees and Financial Aid:

the per semester fees is around 50-60k, so that makes it 110-120k per year. my roommate of ST cat paid around 17k for the semester. The hostel fees is around 20k but i am not sure as it's included in the semester fees

Fees and Financial Aid:

The total annual fees of the college is 94,000 from which you have to pay nearly 64,000 in the first semester. This fees includes admission fees , lab fees , mess management, medical fees, hostel charges etc. For sc/st the tution fees is none so there total annual fee come close to 30,000 something which is a really affordable amount.
