- The culture as there exists a completely ragging-free environment
- The interactive classes by the profsessors.
Dislikes
- Most of the hostel rooms are big but the one I got is too small.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course coz I wanted to research in Physics. The curriculum is really good giving you a brilliant exposure to all the subjects. The teachers for the non interesting subjects needs to be more energetic so that the class doesn't fall asleep. Exams are quite frequent nd easy to moderarte level papers.
Likes
- Campus is quite good. Seniors are really good. And no ragging at all.
- Wifi is unlimited, you can watch YouTube and other websites but gaming is Blocked in this wifi. And porn websites are also blocked and that is quite good for new students
Dislikes
- Some of professors are not good . Like i was in physics department and i really didn't like some professors because of there attitude and lack of sincerity.
- Hostel management is not quite good. Lack of washing machine and improperly managed
Course Curriculum Overview:
Course curriculum are different for different departments students. Like i was in physics department,, they give assignment, quizes and and midsem and endsem and the marks their varry depending on the course teacher decision. I selected physical science and i am quite satisfied with my course selection as the lab experience was very good. Teacher take 2 or 3 teaching assistant to help the students in the classroom, Teaching assistant are actually seniors and they help students in very friendly way.
Likes
- The peer group here is brilliant. We definitely have a future bhatnagar prize winner here
- The faculty is usually incredibly smart and experts in their field
Dislikes
- The administration here is very uncooperative.
- You're expected to be highly independent, no handholding or even guidance is given
Course Curriculum Overview:
In my opinion, the relevance is extremely subjective, in certain subjects we learn way more than what is expected from undergraduate students, in others our knowledge level is comparitively less. It depends on the faculty member taking the course honestly. It changes course to course.
Likes
- the food quality is excellent and the mess system is quite effective as well.
- the course structure is well up to date and quite fun.
Dislikes
- the location could have been a bit more central but it's still pretty good
- the rooms are also a bit cramped, until new hostels are constructed it'll continue to be cramped but it's manageable nonetheless.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is clearly more research based focused more on the critical thinking part, innovation and actual lab experience than the pen and paper stuff, which is quite fresh considering the current educational scene. The entire point of the course structure is based on real world applications and IISERK provides a really good alumni collection and scope for further academic pursuits either in or outside India. The course material is entirely dependent on the professor and not something definite so that could become a problem sometimes, other than that there's 2 primary exams per semester alongwith several tests and quizzes. The difficulty level should be manageable if you're well prepared

- Lot's instructor teach very well in the class
- Labs are too good and doing too good in reasearch.
Dislikes
- Need increasing the number of hostel and hostel facilities.
- Improvement required in sports facilities.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Too many courses Indian Institute of science Education and Research Kolkata (IISERK). In 1 semester credit of course is 26 and in 2nd semester credit of course is 24 and in 3rd sem credit of course is 27 so on..
Likes
- The campus is huge and it's all full of greenery, also as it is a reasearch College the diversity in flora and fauna is much needed.
- The people here all belong from different parts of India that helps us realise how varied different states are and even though everyone's culture is different people try to learn other cultures like their own.
Dislikes
- As I said earlier there's a lot of diverse plants and animals but that also means sometimes you can see little insects in showers and stuff so I guess it gets a little unhygienic
Course Curriculum Overview:
I have always been fascinated by the researchers or innovators i have read about in books or newspapers. I have always wanted to do something that would be helpful for present and upcoming generations and there's nothing better than new innovations. The curriculum is mostly based on making us more interested in the present world and discoveries inclining us towards the world of research opening our minds to things we never thought about. There are quizez very frequently to check is everyone's getting it or not which I think is a really good way to get everyone involved.
Likes
- Campus is so green and clean. It provide us almost all sports and cultural facilities
- It has its own swimming pool. It's give us independence to do our stuff almost no restriction at anything
Dislikes
- Mess is not good as being a vegetarian, it's very difficult to survive as a vegetarian here
- Hostel are so less in number people have to share single room with double occupancy and double with triple.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Courses are really good they provide us with adequate study materials. Here professor are really good they encourage us to ask our doubt and definitely solve it nicely here our seniors are appointed as teaching assistant those help us to solve our doubts everyone is so helping in nature here.

- It is surrounded by greenery, and the climate is moderate comparing to the main city kolkata.
- It is very peaceful and the seniors here are very helpful. Ragging is strictly prohibited here and the offender will be punished severely.
Dislikes
- It is far away from the main city kolkata, about 40 km, which makes it hard for us to travel to and fro.
Course Curriculum Overview:
If you want to study pure science then, IISER kolkata is one of the best Institute you can opt for. As it's curriculum is research based, it prepare you for real world experience. There are 2 exams per semester, mid-term and final-term. Apart from it regular quiz and test are taken every week.

- I like the way we celebrate the festivals of all communities together.
- Here you're free to do anything so it's kinda positive thing.
Dislikes
- Firstly i dislike the dominance of one community.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Academics is too hectic here... You get frequent exams class tests... And the marks distribution is like 20 percent for mid sem 50 percent for end sem and 30 percent for internals like classtest attendance and your attitude
Likes
- Very natural campus away from too much city pollution with lots of trees and wildlife. There are multiple ponds visited by migratory birds.
- Exposure to all basic fields of science before choosing a major
Dislikes
- Student body has no power whatsoever, administration and professors can do whatever they want.
- Course load is a lot in second year for certain subject combinations.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course syllabus is very broad and well researched. All departments ensure that in first two years all students are exposed to a variety of subdivisions of the science majors taught in the campus. Exam difficulty and frequency is entirely dependent on the professor, some keep it very light while some make you want to drop out.
