How is the Academic Environment at IISER?

In IISER, there is a Strong emphasis on fundamental sciences with interdisciplinary research. Academic departments include Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Earth & Climate Science, and Research. The curriculum is rigorous in initial years (core sciences + lab courses). IISER Kolkata review by student

I was a NEET aspirant but couldn't make it their due to high cutoff and latest year scam. I decided to choose BAMS college but got a good rank in IISER Aptitude Test so decided to come here. This was because IISER is always a good option for good exposure in the world of research and IISER Kolkata is one those prestigious institution. For admission in an IISER one has to clear an entrance test called IAT(IISER Aptitude Test). Secure good rank and should clear the cutoff. After clearing the cutoff one can secure a seat in one of the 7 IISERs, IISc Bangalore, IIT-Madras(for one specific course).

Overview

I wanted to opt computational mathematics at ony of the teir-1 engineering college but I couldn't make it, then researched over the field of mathematics and statistics and got the department of mathematics and statistics of IISER Kolkata which had remarkable impacts. So I decided to come across here. Admission process is simple, you have to write an exam called IAT( IISER aptitude test) where they ask you questions from Physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics. Then you get your rank and according to that your are alloted the college by the councelling IISER is completely research based institute, don't expect any placement from this college.

I haven't applied for any other college. I targeted IISc which didn't come under my rank in IAT. Hence I opted for IISER K being close to it. The only channel for IISER currently is the IAT channel. All the JEE Adv, KVPY channels have been closed.

IISER Kolkata: A glimpse

I wanted to take courses in astrophysics. Only this IISER has a dedicated course for it called MS(Research) in Space Physics. This made me interested to take this course. I got a lot of rejections from many college but I don't want to name them as due to that rejection leaded to this success.

WANT TO BE SCIENTIST , JUST GET ADMISSION IN IISER KOLKATA

I took admission in this college on the basis of jee advanced score. I took admission because i was eligible for the fellowship but i didn't get because the government removed the scheme that year. So i was quite disappointed. I also selected in IIT MANDI bio engineering and INDIAN INSTITUTE OF PETROLEUM (IIP) and i was gett guaranteed placement in iip vizag. It was my wrong decision not to go there.

I was always interested in the field of research so that's that, other than that the whole scene of engineering has become oversaturated at this point of time, and engineering colleges not performing as well.
