IISER Tirupati has released the Fee Structure 2025-26. The academic fee for Doctorate is ₹ 3.78 Lakhs.

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati is a public research and education institute, located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 2015 as an autonomous institute that was set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The institute offers masters and doctoral degrees that are BS-MS dual degree program and Integrated Ph.D. program and Ph.D. program for broad areas of research in Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Climate Science, Mathematics, Physics. For each subject, different departments are functioning. IISER Tirupati Admission 2025

Admissions at IISER Tirupati is either Entrance-based or Interviews. Candidates for courses like BS-MS Programme are selected based on the entrance test. Whereas candidates for courses such as IPhd and Ph.D. are selected based on written tests followed by the interview process.

Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship-
The Prime Minister's Research Fellows (PMRF) Scheme seeks to attract the best talent into research thereby realizing the vision of development through innovation. Post Doctoral Research Fellowship -IISER Tirupati has an active Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship (PDRF) Program to enable highly motivated young researchers to research the frontier areas of Science and Technology. Hostel - 24x7 security services and separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel has 4 floors with overall 184 rooms that are well furnished with equipment. Drinking water and washing machine facilities are provided on each floor. On the ground floor, we have a Gym, a room for music practice and indoor games, a well-furnished study room, a TV Hall, a wellness clinic, a modern kitchen, and a spacious dining hall.

Hostels: Newly constructed hostels with all things that we need. We have washing machine to clean clothes, we have 24*7 lights, sry guys no AC is here in hostel rooms. But we have 9-10 study rooms where you can study, watch movie also. ~ Ashish Ranjan, BS + MS
Academic: Every year the curriculum is getting more better. Everything here is outstanding. Major Minor rule is here. The course is also easy to moderate level. Each semester is of 4 months with 2 quizzes, mid semester and end semester exams ~ Prapulla M, BS + MS

What facilities do the hostels offer, and how are students accommodated?

Isaac Tirupati provide students with hostels in which two students stay in per room on a sharing basis. The hostel fees included in the annual in the semi fees and compulsory for student to live in the hostel. Students can avail free internet access in their hostel rooms and also are provided with pure drinking water supply, clean toilets, and bathrooms and electricity. 24 cross seven students also can avail a gymnasium in each hostel. Block, the hostels are newly built and an excellent condition and also have solar panels on the rooftop that provide hot water for students to bathe.

The Indian Institute of science education and research Tirupati is the sixth institute established in a series of seven users by the central government of India. Tirupati has excellent labs in physics, biology and chemistry. It also has an excellent department of mathematics. We have a large campus situated in the foothills of the Kala has the mountain range, the student culture in Tirupati is vibrant and students are exposed to plethora of extra curricular activities such as sports, music, dance and drama that supplement academic pursuits to enhance students academic careers. The institute has an innovation, cell and an incubation cell where students in their pre-final and final years can , pursue innovative projects and file for patents

Speed of development is very slow. Iit and iiser both started at same time but development here is slower

Government college, better exposure, good lab facilities, nice professors better opportunities than other private btech or government btech colleges with branches offering not much package. Iat is the entrance test. We went to a private college for btech and a professor there suggested us this over theirs.

the lab facilities are top notch as it is a new campus for all majors
very peaceful environment as it is located in outskirts of tirupathi near mountain ranges
the college is very diverse with people from almost every state of India even with less population

it is not in a big city and we almost should travel 40 min just to reach tirupathi
the construction is not over yet although the campus is 250 acres most of it is empty expt for labs , hostels , academic halls and some other

i got admitted via iiser aptitude test which is the only mose of admission.one of the main advantages of choosing iiser are its exposure to esearch and it being a research institute with most of the faculties being renowed scientists in various fields. everybody gets to explore their field of intrest before choosing a major in 4th semand option to opt for interdisiplinary majors.

Campus: The permanent campus is newly constructed and equipped with all advanced technology. Research block, admin block, lecture complex, library is functional and with all world class technology. here girls and boys ratio is nearly equal.

Dislikes

Weather of IISER Tirupati is very hot and UV is also very strong.
Construction is still going on that sometimes frustrating too.
Connectivity: The college is far from city approx 31km, but local buses and auto are available.

The admission process of IISER tirupati or any IISER is through a national exam, that is, IAT (IISER ADMISSION TEST). The questions are from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths of class 11th and 12th. The level of questions are easy to moderate and are more into experimental and critical thinking. The cuttoff varies each year. The admission experience was too easy and convenient for me. I got medical college but I choose this college because of my research interest in my field. The course of this college is vast and includes many subject and topics, which I can choose according to my interest. In other colleges, the subjects are compulsory. Also the lab work and future aspects in IISER are more. I didnt get any rejection.

A journey through IISER Tirupati

Admission:

I appeared for NEET -2019 and scored around 555 which wasn't enough to get through cutoff and give me an opportunity to enroll in any medical college in my state , but as i was interested in research only , and thus when i got to know about IISER's dual degree program and its scope of extensive research i thought of giving it a shot and luckily i could crack IAT ( IISER Aptitude Test ) and i feel it was a good decision . The admission process of IISER involves an entrance exam known as IISER Aptitude Test , after that there is document verification if you make through the cutoff .

As permanent campus is far from city, you may feel that there's nothing to enjoy but wait, Tirupati is a city not developed like Pune but it's good for us. Even we go for trekking also. There's lots of places. Bangalore and pondi, is also not far.
Campus Life: we have a great campus life. Yeah there are some boundaries becuz of safety. Yeah u can go to IIT Tirupati also, that is only 5km from here.

Dislikes

The time boundaries is one of the thing I don't like. As we all are college students and we are not child anymore but after all this there are restrictions on us. You can't outside of the campus after 6 PM. We have to return to room before 12:30AM
Funds are low for our students activities. So it makes us irritated sometimes.
Construction: it's taking a lot of time to construct the campus, we don't have sports complex right now. It's under-construction.

Admission:

So basically admission is done through National level exam that is IAT (don't confuse with IIT). IAT that means IISER Admission Test. The application fees is Rs1000 (it may vary). So the syllabus is Physics, chemistry, biology and maths. Fresher, dropper and double dropper are eligible to give exam. You will find the application form on the website of IAT and all the details will be there only. Yes, I availed reservation and you will get benefit of reservation in fees of the college. The exam is currently easy to difficult. No need to panic.

Admission:

The eligibility for admission is minimum 75% in 12th Boards IISERs conduct the IISER Aptitude Test every year and application starts around April-May. The application form fee is around ?1500-2000. You can find more detailed information on the iiser aptitude test website. Reserved categories get benifit of paying lesser application fee& admission fees as well as 50% seats in all IISERs reserved for Ews/OBC/SC/ST/KM etc. The entrance exam level is more or less compared to JEE and other equivalent national level exams. Difficulty level medium to high. The choice filling for IISERs is done while filling the application form itself. It should be done once results come out, so that candidates can fill their choices conveniently.

Non biased review about iiser tirupati

Likes

Clen and well maintained campus which is indeed beautiful
Provides good exposure. There are a lot of seminars held
Not much restrictions inside the campus and i feel nice roaming around

Dislikes

You can not go outside campus after evening 6 pm .
You will find a lot of so called intelligent people here without any individuality and real creativity so it is going to be very boring

Admission:

Those who have passed their 12th class can apply but only while studying 12 th and after passing 12th, one can appear iiser aptitude . It does not matter whether you are a biology or math student . You can attend both math and bio section in test it is best . But if you dont know anything about math or biology you can skip the entire section . I got 11500 overall rank and 700 category rank(sc). Iiser should allow admission to those who have taken more than 1 drop

Admission:

10th & 12th with minimum marks required Go to the IISER admission website. The application fee for ST/SC is 1000/- and OC is 2000/- and the application will be released in March to April. For ST/SC there is no tuition fee only mess fee and hostel fee need to be paid. There are good enough seats for them.
