WANT TO BE SCIENTIST , JUST GET ADMISSION IN IISER KOLKATA

Fees and Financial Aid:

Overall Semester fee per semester( per 6 months) for BS-MS course is approx 43000 to 44000 which includes 7500 for mess establishment charge and hostel and wifi charges. Uf we talk about only tution fee , it is 33000. For sc-st , tution fee is waived. They only have to pay other charges excluding tution fee that is approx 9000 to 10000. If you are qualified kvpy then you get inspire scholarship which is 70000 per year approx. Othan this , if you belong to poor family being obc and general, yes there are funds available for their easiness but you have to ask for it in the academic section. I got admission in 2019 that time per semester fee was 41000 now, in 2024 it is 44000 per semester, now you can easily calculate how much it is increasing per year.

the course structure is well up to date and quite fun.

the per semester fees is around 50-60k, so that makes it 110-120k per year. my roommate of ST cat paid around 17k for the semester. The hostel fees is around 20k but i am not sure as it's included in the semester fees

Total as a sum of all fee per semester is 52164. Fee is increasing in all semester. If you belong to sc/st category the you get 100% tuition fee free. Inspire and other scholarship are available. Reservation according to central government norms.

honestly the tution fees is not that high for reserved catagories its almost 10-12k per semester for general that number goes to 50k per semester.our institute offers a lot of scolarship options depenidng on a lot of things eg. board exam marks

The fees Per semester is around ?50,000 campus has some intercept programs. You can work in some of the labs over here to gain experience. Some students Get spare scholarship of 5K per month. The hostel fees is included

Review of IISERK

The fees of Iiser Kolkata is around ?50,000 per semester. Hostel fees is included but the mess fees is extra . Some of the students get inspire scholarship which gives ?5000 per month . There is no such price hike every year .

I can't say I particularly disliked anything, but the pace of course is bit fast.

At first fee structure : at IISER-K, it's very easy if you're under any reservation (SC /ST/ PWD). I mean 1.04 lakh for entire 5 year is affordable. But for general students, the fee is not so low (keeping in mind, this is a Research based college). Now, scholarships : Oh boy, it will be very hard for you to find a single govt scholarship if you're in any IISER. (Ya I know there's INSPIRE scholarship but it's very specific and droppers can't even get it).

Student Snaps:

The fee structure is very low as compared to iits and nits. If you pursue BSMS from is a college which is 5 years course the total expenses is around 6 lakhs this includes everything. If students perform well on boards then students avail the scholarship offer called inspire SHE.

Inspire scholarship and kvpy, nsp scholarships are given by the central government, college doesn't provide any scholarships. This the reason fees is a bit more for middle class families but half of the students get inspire or kvpy scholarships and the quota students always get the advantage with a very less amount to pay.

KVPY rankers and under 10k jee advanced rankers get 60000 annually as a scholarship. Under 1 percentile CBSE and other state rankers get the same amount of scholarship others don't get any scholarship.
