Currently, IISER Pune occupies a 98-acre plot of land in Pashan. They have developed into a vital part of Pune's academic, scientific, social, and cultural environment. At IISER Pune, student life is dynamic and has the potential to be immensely rewarding. A number of student societies and clubs focus on sports, entertainment, recreation, and a wide range of other interests in addition to the demands of academics.
- Clubs: Some of the student clubs at IISER Pune include Aroha, Drama Club, Literary Club, Maths Club, TEDxIISERPune Club, etc.
- Residential Campus: IISER Pune is a fully functional residential campus including dorms for students, a central dining hall, and housing complexes for academics and staff.

IISER Pune Scholarships
The major scholarship programme for students continues to be INSPIRE (http://www.onlineinspire.gov.in/), while KVPY (http://www.kvpy.iisc.ernet.in) was discontinued in 2022. Additionally, scholarships are offered by many ministries and agencies of the Central and State governments. A student is only permitted to receive financial aid from one source (national or international) at a time.
INSPIRE Fellowship: Each IISER student is eligible to apply for the INSPIRE Fellowship, which was established by the Indian government's Department of Science and Technology. This offers a stipend of Rs. 5,000 per month and an additional Rs. 20,000 for summer projects and mentoring institutes.

Admission process is by clearing an entrance exam called IISER Aptitude Test which is usually held in July. The course is related to research which is not for someone who is looking for a job. I would suggest to opt for this if someone is really interested in science.
Likes
- The college has a great reserch oriented environment and it is one of best reserch institute of country.you can find almost all type of labs to do reserch in natural sciences.
- The campus life is good , not the best. The scocal interaction is good . You meet people from all over india. All festivals are celebrated in every enjoyable manner. There is very less discrimination in campus.
Dislikes
- The course curriculum is very rigorous. The faculty teaches in only English, so if you are not familiar with getting tought by teacher in only English, you can get difficulty in starting.
- There is no seen for placement or internship in industry or in compines. As college is more oriented toward reserch students prefer to do reserch and further studies over industry placement.

I chose IISER Pune over NIT Surat because of its dedicated focus on pure sciences and research. While NIT Surat offers a strong engineering program, IISER Pune’s interdisciplinary curriculum and research-driven approach align better with my career goals in science. I am here surrounded by a passionate people about discovery, it was a major factor. IISER’s labs, faculty, emphasis on critical thinking truly inspire me, while its environment is very reserch oriented which is essential for my growth in the sciences.
Admission:
i choose IISER pune due to the brand value of the college in reserch field. The admission process is done through IISER APTITUDE TEST . which is conducted by one of the IISERs each year within 2 weeks of JEEAdvanced examination. to get iiser pune one needs to score 150/240 in the exam and choose iiser pune as 1st preference in the counselling.
Likes
- Classrooms, tutorial rooms, laboratories and library facilities are the best
- Sports facilities like indoor stadium for basketball, badminton with multiple courts along with a gym. Also it has a laundry system which is free of cost.
Dislikes
- It has a clinic but it doesn’t provide consultations for severe complications and health issues. Also it is restricted to time so it closes everyday after 5 pm.
- The gym is strictly time constrained and the trainer is not enough qualified to train the people. It should offer more open hours.

I was looking for MBBS but I couldn't make it so I got admitted to IISER which a very prestigious college in India. This college is completely for people who are looking to pursue their careers in scientific research. It gave us a broader perspective but at the same time you have to work very hard in order to get good grades as compared to other colleges.
Likes
- Everything is good in college only curriculum is not good. So students face problems. And the old curriculum is what is needed now. Everything else is good.
- College campus is nice. And the courses are great too.

- The food in the college mess is very bad.
- There are many thieves among college students.
Admission:
Eligibility 12th pass in science Admission process is good. And the entrance exam syllabus pn is very good. Also the paper pattern is good. And marking scheme is best. Counseling fees is 35000. And after 12th exam can be given twice.
Admission:
For admission you have to give an exam IAT for doing BSMS which is compulsory for all iiser. And I like it because there is some other way by which we can go into a tier 1 college by other exam not by jee or neet like things. The application mainly start in april and form available till end of april. you have to fill it on the IAT site and the exam has fee nearly 2000 rupees. Also there is same reservation pattern as in the central govt. exams, so it is not a big issue. The cutoff for iiser pune is nearly 120 out 240 marks as i gave the exam last year. It vary year to year. The cutoff is different for different iiser. Also IISER PUNE selects only 270 student of the total qualified number which nearly about 5k. So I can say there is huge competition here. The exam is moderate for the admission and exam is available for all over india not in particular area like wbjee.
Admission:
Admission through either JEE Advanced, IISER Aptitude test is possible. A rank below 7K in JEE Advanced and a rank below 500 in IAT is likely to get admitted in IISER Pune Application form and all other information can be found on www.iiseradmission.in

The PhD curriculum is mainly subject focussed. The faculties are so supportive and motivating students for research studies. They are highly qualified professors. Each student gets individual attention from their research guide.

The entrance exam for IISER Pune, the IAT is generally considered to be of moderate difficulty, similar to the JEE Mains. Compared to challenging exams like JEE Advanced, IAT is considered manageable with good preparation. The exam emphasizes a strong understanding of foundational concepts in PCMB.
IISER Pune has a state-of-the-art research infrastructure to carry out work in various areas of science. The available facilities are rapidly expanding as the institute grows. National Facility for Gene Function in Health and Disease (NFGFHD) is a state-of-the-art animal house facility established at IISER Pune in 2016, with funding from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. IISER Pune hosts the National Supercomputing Mission facility, PARAM Brahma, deployed by C-DAC at the institute through the Government of India's National Supercomputing Mission. PARAM Brahma is currently with CPU and GPU compute aggregate of 1.7 PF (petaflops) with high-performance parallel file system-based storage of 1 PB (petabytes). In addition, the institute hosts multiple data centers for high-performance computing and parallel file system-based storage aggregating to 400 TF (teraflops) and 700 TB (terabytes). Together, these computing facilities support research in the areas of computational biology, particle physics, astrophysics, computation chemistry, materials modeling, molecular dynamics, nanoparticles, cryptography, seismology, climate science, etc. Experimental research facilities are distributed across the institute and set up at the research departments.
IISER Pune offers 21 courses at the UG, PG, PhD, and Dual degree levels. There are 7 UG, 3 PG,11 Dual, and 7 PhD programs at IISER Pune. Admissions to all the programs at IISER Pune are based on entrance exams. It offers BS+MS (7 Courses). The top course at IISER Pune is the BS-MS Dual Degree Program which is offered for a duration of 5 years. Aspirants can apply and appear for KVPY/JEE-Advanced/SCB for dual-degree admissions. It offers MSc (3 Courses), MSc+PhD (4 Courses), and PhD (7 Courses).
Admission to BS-MS degree programs is done through 3 channels: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), JEE Advanced, and State and Central Boards Channel (SCB). Admissions to Ph.D. programs are done on the basis of CSIR-UGC NET/ GATE/ JEST/ NBHM/ JGEEBILS/ INSPIRE Ph.D. Scholarship. For Integrated Ph.D. (i-Ph.D.), the institute considers JAM/ JEST/ NBHM (for Mathematics) scores.
IISER Entrance Exam 2024 Online application starts on the Second week of April 2024. IISER 2024 Admit Card will be released in the second week of June 2024.
