DU SOL Admission FAQs

Ques. Is DU SOL admission based on BFS?

Ans. No, DU SOL admissions for undergraduate courses are merit-based, primarily relying on Class 12 marks rather than any BFS. Postgraduate admissions may involve entrance exams like CUET PG in some cases, but UG programs such as BA, BCom, and honors courses follow direct merit criteria without entrance tests.

Ques. How do I cancel a DU SOL admission online?

Ans. To cancel your DU SOL admission, you cannot do it fully online; instead, submit a handwritten application for withdrawal along with required documents in person at your allocated Regional Centre. If applied within the notified last date of admission for the 2025-26 session, you'll receive a full fee refund minus INR 500 administrative charges, later cancellations may get partial or no refund.

Ques. Is a DigiLocker migration certificate enough for DU SOL admission, or is an original certificate required?

Ans. Yes, a DigiLocker-issued migration certificate is sufficient and accepted for DU SOL admission, as per UGC guidelines directing all higher education institutions to recognize digital documents from DigiLocker as valid and legally equivalent to originals. Upload the digitally signed PDF during the online application, originals may be verified later.

AI-Generated Summary based on 339 Reviews

Admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) program at Delhi University's School of Open Learning (DU SOL) is primarily based on completing the 12th standard, with no specific percentage required, although many students report achieving at least 40-60% marks. The process is straightforward and conducted entirely online via the DU SOL website. Applicants are required to fill out an online form, provide details such as name, date of birth, and household income, and upload necessary documents, including their 12th-grade marksheet and identification.

The program does not require an entrance exam, and there is no cut-off, allowing any eligible applicant to secure admission if documents are verified. The admission process includes paying a single course fee of around INR 8,000, which covers two years or four semesters, along with the provision of study materials. Students can receive an ID card upon successful payment confirmation. DU SOL admissions typically begin in June or July and may extend past the scheduled deadline, offering flexibility.

The school is ideal for those seeking distance education options, particularly students managing work commitments or pursuing professional courses like CA or CS. While there are no entrance exams, some courses within DU SOL may have a merit-based selection for specific seats. Reservation policies may apply, offering fee discounts for SC/ST/OBC categories.

I chose School of Upper Learning because this college has classes only once a week and also has online classes. In the meantime, you can try some of our extra IT tools like Tally Busy which will help you in accounting.Moves further ahead in line I got a lot of support from my seniors and at home, which gave me the opportunity to know more about it in depth, hence I selected this college and curriculum. Moreover, you can also do a job along with your studies and support your family completely.Like you can apply to a CA These apps can go into any accounting line. And talking about college admission process, you should have around 50% marks in 12th class. There are no other criteria in this nor any limit. You just have to go to give the exam and there are no compulsory classes. In this, you are not taken any exam etc., your admission is done on the basis of 12th.

DU SOL: 2 Answered Questions

Can I get admission into SOL DU from a Regular DU in my 2nd year?

Vijay SrivastavaStudied at School of Open Learning,University of Delhi, graduated in 2020

Unfortunately no, there is no provision for transfer from SOL to a regular college at University of Delhi. It is so because SOL is an institution in itself, like any other college.

You can try to migrate into some other college but you will not be granted admission if your scores in SOL exams are not very high.

The students of SOL are often looked down upon when compared to regular colleges. Your marks will be scrutinized before you are allowed to migrate to the college. Most students are turned down because that would mean an increase in the workload.
