What should I choose, VJTI for Computer Science or BITS Goa for Chemical?

My friend also faced the dilemma of choosing between VJTI and BITS Goa. He ended up choosing VJTI because of the following reasons. VJTI offers a renowned CS curriculum with a strong focus on practical learning. BITS Goa may have a higher average salary during placement, but placements for CS at VJTI are also pretty solid. A total of 401 BTech students have been placed till now in 2024. The highest package was secured by a BTech Computer Science student which stood at INR 57 LPA with the average package being INR 20 LPA. VJTI has strong industry connections and easily offers students research and internship opportunities in top firms. BITS Goa also offer most of such programs in dual degree format which may be uncomfortable for some students. Mumbai being a tech hub can also be beneficial as VJTI CS students are to an ecosystem of networking opportunities and jobs.

Out of textile engineering from VJTI and CS from KJ Somaiya, CS from Somaiya will be a better choice. As one of my friends studied there, I am able to share some facts about it. CSE is a trending branch and the most popular one. The best option for you will be KJ Somaiya. When it comes to placement at KJ Somaiya, they are decent. A total of 70 companies visited the campus for on-campus placements and offered great salary packages. The campus life at KJ Somaiya is amazing and is very welcoming. KJ Somaiya is an autonomous college and there are many advantages of being from a college with an autonomous status. VJTI has many scholarships and also a good faculty in the scholarship department. They conduct seminars and provide all the information to new students. The cost of education for open students is not that high as compared to other colleges but they can get good scholarships. I paid 85 thousand for a sem.

The fees for open category students are 80000 to 90000 per year which may vary year by year According to category, there are fee concessions provided by the college for the students, The college has a separate section called as scholarship section so that students will not face any kind of problems regarding the scholarship and no student is left without getting the information of the scholarship, apart from the government scholarship, many companies come in our college to provide scholarship according to the marks of the student and his/her family income The category named TFWS gets a direct scholarship from the first year itself as these students are the students which have scored the highest marks during admission in the college . The TFWS seats in the college are 3 -4 seats per branch. Also from the beginning of the 3rd year, the internship season starts where companies visiting the college provide handsome amount of STIPEND to the selected students.

The fees structure is of course high and the total placement is high .so thus hostel fees and college fees are high. but there is comfort in the reserved category. There are some concessions for students belonging to that category.

VJTI the next IIT Bombay of India

I received the Post Matric Scholarship for VJNT students according to my category. So my fees were reduced by 15000 with the help of this Scholarship. I also received a Scholarship named financial assistance to meritorious students which gave rs 10000 per year.

VJTI

Fees were increased by about 5000 and it's much cheaper than other colleges. The fees here are almost half of the private colleges I got a summer internship at Morgan Stanley. The placements are good. My seniors are placed in great companies with really good offers.

All to know about VJTI

The fees for my admission year were 78k and have been about the same. For further years, there has been some fee hike. There is scholarship facility for people with scheduled classes and those with lower family income based on merit. I personally didn't get any scholarship.

For all 4 years, we have paid 75000 per year (2 semesters). However, the fees increase for the next batch of students and remain the same for that batch for all 4 years. For example, the batch that came after we had fees around 82500 something and the batch that came after that had to pay a little more. This is, however, fees for the open category. The fees for reserved students and far far less and they have tonnes of scholarships they can claim, effectively making them EARN money instead of spending in the process. All that being said, VJTI fees are far less compared to any other top engineering institute in Mumbai since it is a government institute, so there's not much to complain about there.
