SJBIT Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 118 Reviews

The faculty at this college is generally well-qualified, with many holding master's degrees and some possessing Ph.D. qualifications. The faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:15 to 1:20, enhancing personalized attention. A notable number of faculties have industry experience and are supportive in academic and extracurricular activities. The faculty's average teaching experience ranges between 6-8 years, with a significant proportion having graduated from prestigious institutes like IITs and NITs. While the teaching quality is generally good, there are instances of communication barriers, particularly for non-state students due to language preferences.

The curriculum includes three internal assessments and one final exam per semester, with exam difficulty being moderate. Some faculty members are perceived as strict, focusing mainly on syllabus completion, while others are more approachable and supportive. Faculty involvement in research encouragement and providing clear guidance is also highlighted. However, there are reports of departmental politics and occasional faculty-related challenges, particularly for north Indian students. Overall, the faculty is experienced and committed, but with room for improvement in certain areas.

some of the faculties are really so un touch with the students that they clear all the doubts and encourage to participate in several programs. the faculty i liked was latha ma'am,she used to take us C programming and her teaching skills are to the next level which keeps the class interactive in one or the other way. i cant meantion the name of the faculty who i didnt like but he was one of the most strict teachers i have ever seen and was scolding for all the small things. we usually have 3 internals and one final sem exam per sem and almost all the students cope up with the exam and the difficulty level depends on how the student is prepared for it.

SJB Institute of Technology is an autonomous institution which is affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum. The faculty to student ratio is almost 1:3 for Post graduation. These faculties are very knowledgeable holding a master's degree in their respective streams. Many of the faculties are pursuing their Ph.D as of now. Exams are much like VTU board since it is affiliated to VTU. The only difference is in evaluating the answers. As this is a autonomous institute under VTU scheme of evaluation is different.

There seems to be really low amount of teachers who are actually interest in teaching, most of them just do it as a task checklist. Savitha ma'am from chemistry department is a really good mentor and also pushpa ma'am from maths department Other programming languages teachers are good but not as effecient and concerned about us as them Manu sir is really knowledgeable and has proper idea about placements and programming languages He gives some really good advices in terms of jobs and placements and other private courses. There are many teachers we don't like, not comfortable sharing their names There are 3 internal assessment and 1 final exam per semester, the evaluation seems to be lineant and comforting as it is an autonomous college, the exam difficulty level is also mid. There are some courses which makes no sense to study in our future career.

How are the placements and faculty at SJBIT? Which college is better for a CSE, SJBIT, or KLE Technological University?

Kamakshi GuptaStudied at SJBIT

If you're considering pursuing a Bachelor's degree in CSE in Bangalore, then SJBIT and KLE Technological University are two great colleges. However, SJBIT could be a better option for you if you're interested in CSE. The following are the reasons:

  • SJBIT has some really good faculties, but it also depends on your perception of them. It has a reputation for having experienced and qualified professors who can provide excellent guidance and support to students.
  • The placement opportunities at SJBIT are pretty good. The placement cell actively works to secure job opportunities. Many well-known companies such as Infosys, Wipro, and TCS have visited the campus for recruitment drives in the past, and SJBIT students have secured jobs with attractive salaries.
  • SJBIT has a strict attendance policy, which means that you have to maintain a certain level of attendance to be eligible to write exams. This could be a good thing for some students who need the discipline of regular attendance to stay motivated and focused.
  • If you decide to study at SJBIT, I would recommend that you choose CSE, ISE or ECE branches. These are the core branches that the college is known for, and the quality of education and infrastructure for these branches is generally better than for other branches.
  • On the other hand, KLE Technological University may not be the best option for you if you're interested in CSE. The college is more focused on traditional engineering disciplines such as Mechanical and Civil engineering, and while it does offer CSE, it may not be the best place to study that particular discipline.

SJBIT could be a better choice for you if you're interested in pursuing CSE in Bangalore. With its experienced faculty, good placement opportunities, and strict attendance policy, you could receive a high-quality education that prepares you for a successful career in the field.
