The number of faculties in the college compared to students are less.the relationship between students and lectures are like mother and son and daughter which are more apprecaited and liked by the students.Nischitha Mam is the lecturer who i liked in the college till now.the way she treat the students is more liked me and all other lecturers. the best faculties in the ise department is sowmya mam, vinay sir and manjula mam and no faculties are rude in the department. we have 2 exams in an year and each are conducted per sem(6 months). As the Question paper are from VTU Belagavi the question paper are unpredictable and the question paper are stanadard. Most of the student in RRIT try to clear their Papers on time. the papers are same as per the VTU Belagavi Course Curriculum.

Campus Life

Kalataranga is the annual festival which is celebrated every year.and the technical events are conducted as per the Concered Departments in RRIT,the accessibility and the books are journals are less in the library and it is not updated regularly as of like the Company Standards. The seminar Halls in the colleges are in wide range and the smartclasses are fixed in some of the classes but provided in every classrooms.the sports and extracurricular activites in the RRIT Campus are more and support for the sports in the department as well in the rrit is more encouraged.

Faculty

The teachers were all highly professional And most of them had Masters degree as well as a PHD. They will help you with any kind of doubts that you have and teach you how to handle the subject. The bad aspect is that they would only stick with topics and sometimes they even skip topics that are there in syllabus saying us to read on our own. The starting topics are easy on any topic but moving on they skip many as there wont be time as each semester get ended in 3-4 months. The faculty - student ratio is obviously less for faculty. The faculties are approachable and its ok to ask doubts or get the topics clearly understood. The faculty that is best is our python SIR(Satish SIR) . He used to teach the concepts clearly and also explain each and every line of code. some teachers would open the slides and go on reading line by line how it was presented as it is. The exams were conducted every semester. 3 CIE(Internal exam) and 1 final(SEE) and also with lab(2 exams). One internal and other external. The exams are easy as it is an autonomous college just referring to model papers were enough you can easily pass. The exams were conducted every one month. Some subjects there would be time given to prepare, while othere they wouldnt give , so it is better to read the subjects before 1 week from exam date.

Course Curriculum Overview

The exams were conducted every semester. 3 CIE(Internal exam) and 1 final(SEE) and also with lab(2 exams). One internal and other external. I didnt had any other option as it was the final round i had got this couse. Even i had heard that Civil engineering is evergreen and would need persons to work not AI. The faculty were higly qualified, many had masters as well as PHD Degree. The teachers used green board to explain the topic and sometimes also explained with smartboard projector. some teachers would open the slides and go on reading line by line how it was presented as it is. They have to provide sufficient amount of time to each subject and not just about theory but they have to teach us practical application on how to apply these concepts in real life industry requirements.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is decent. The faculty is very cocky since it is a autonomous college they tend to control you. The faculty is not approachable. Better that youtube or ai's assistance it is better, . Ashwini ma'am Kiran Sir are the hods who are very approachable and clears the student issues . There is shridhar sir and Indushree who doesn't give marks at all. Many people have backlogs because of him. He controls us through how he gives marks. I did an internship i had to miss few classes. he cut marks just because of attendance even though i got permission from the hod. The 3 internals per semester are do-able but the exams are horrible they expect us to write more advanced than for what they horribly teach.

Course Curriculum Overview

Compared to other department this is a little free. This curriculum they provide is okayish but can be doable. But could have been better. 0 real worl application knowledge. All theory subjects. Waste. They could've kept more practical based subjects. The frequency and timing of exams are horrible there is Anil sir who doesn't even understands the difficulty of the subjects and sets time table according his own need.

So I've taken up Information science and engineering because I want to become a software engineer, I've always been interested in coding , our college provides pretty good assistance in teaching related to the vtu syllabus and prepares you for semester end exams , but you need to learn skills like coding in different languages on your own

Placement Experience

So I'm in 3rd year and I hear from my seniors that the companies come to college to intreview you during the 6th semester and if you're highly knowledgeable and have worked hard you can crack the interviews and earn an internship and get placed in future , you can expect an package of 4-7 lpa

Fees structure for cet candidates will be around 110000, managament will be 5+2.5/yr Fine fine is mandatory in the clg 200 rs per is collected as the departement fees and exam fees is paied to vtu. When it comes to scholarship for SC/ST COLLAGE MANAGAMENT strive hard to collect quickly which is very much burden on students Sc/st scholarship will be around 65000rs and should pay asap to collage when sanctioned Collage has several bus facilities For hostel students fees structure is quiet higher usually I paid 110000/yr ×4yr=440000. And many more

Campus Life

Only 1 festival that is mahadasara at the time of dasara during September or october The range and accessibility of books and journals available in the library are very few. The facilities and technological provisions within the classrooms is nice. An overview on sports and extracurricular activities offered on campus is much when compared to other college. No social groups, clubs, or student portals, including their impact on student life.

Campus Life

The overall campus life here is above average. There are several clubs here for people with different interests. CAT (Cultural Activity Club) for conducting college festivals and Karnataka Rajyotsava. RSC(RNS Sports Club) for conducting various sports games and inter department sports competitions as well as Marathons every year that is open for everyone including outsiders. Dhwani which is the singing club holds evening concerts every month, Aura the fashion club, Synapse and Natarang which are the hip hop and classical dance clubs respectively. There are many clubs started by students themselves as well like MUN club. Most of the fests in Bengaluru colleges are held in even semesters which are in months from October, Nov,Dec. There anre many hackathons organized as well as blood donation camps. The library was recently renovated and has been made bigger, the books are easily accessible but less in number so not available all the time. Each class has a projector+ each dep have 2-3 labs

Course Curriculum Overview

The present curriculum has a lot of room for improvement. There are relevant subjects being taught to us that'll help us greatly in the real world companies but there are many irrelevant subjects as well. There are subjects like Social Connectivity & Responsibility (SCR) which isn't taken seriously and made us do activities unrelated to the course like planting a sapling, or going to a food Street and taking pictures there etc, there are subjects like Biology as well which have no connection whatsoever to our course and doesn't help us in any way to apply for real world instances. Like I said before, during internals 2 subjects are conducted per day which is too much for the students. Gaps could be given in between exams and more subjects can be introduced that are relevant to our course.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got my admission through KCET quota through which you are charged the least amout of money, for my 2nd year they charged approx 64k as tuition fee 31.5k as other fee and a hair over 7k as VTU fee. The total came out to be nearly 1.03 lakh rupees which was for 2nd year. For the third year the fees has increased by 3k but they havent yet updated the detailed fee structure so I cannot mention it. There are also other two ways to get into this college .i.e. through COMEDK and Management Quota. I'm not sure about the fees charged during the 1st year but do know that for second year the fees stood at 2.4 lakhs and for third year the fees has been increased by 20k and now stands at 2.6 lakhs. Coming to COMEDK I'm not sure weather i can tell you guys that fee for ISE was 6X that of mine and for CSE was about 10X that of mine.... so I'm not telling that. Do bear in my that when i got admitted in 2022 the college was affiliated to VTU and now it has become autonomous, so fee has increased.

Campus Life

The campus has a lot of space on offer, is comparision it is spacious then most tier 2 colleges(teir one being IIT's and NIT's) and that's a good thing. Except the infrastructure looks itself is a let down. The auditorium is great cause it has different design language in comparision to the rest of the college. The whole college has same basic exterior carried on by other buildings from RNS group. The interiors are pretty good and no complaint abnout it but the exterior isn't anything to brag about, but so are many colleges. And for clubs frankly speaking if you have contacts with seniors, think you're already a part of club(it's the same story in every college). There is a fashion show club, a club for drama(both north indians and sounth indians have seperate groups), there is a group for singing, and if you wish you can start your own club; best of luck if you wish to. But don't expect the fest to be on par with tier 2 colleges; they are just utter dissapointment.

Ques. How is IIIT Vadodara for a Btech in CSE/IT?

● Top Answer By Priyansh Kumar on 16 Mar 23

Ans. If you have a choice between IIIT Vadodara and any other well-established NIT or IIIT for a Btech in CSE/IT, you should go for the latter as IIIT Vadodara lacks proper infrastructure and resources. However, studying B.tech in CSE at IIIT Vadodara is a rigorous course that offers different course content from other colleges, making students good engineers. The professors put in equal amounts of hard work to deliver their content in a professional manner, and there are ample resources available online for students.  IIIT Vadodara is a good option as it provides exposure to both theory and industrial practice, and the institute has improved immensely. The placements are also getting better, with tech giants recognizing IIIT Vadodara and aiding in projects through developer student clubs and Mozilla student clubRead more

Ans. Yes, you can get IEM Kolkata with a rank of 6k. In 2021, the closing cutoff for the IT branch was 2483-8457.  IEM Kolkata is an average college. The academics and facilities offered aren’t good for IT. Alumni of the institute who are well-established in the IT sector received the opportunities based on their talent and expertise. ● Top Answer By Komal S on 15 May 24

Ans. According to my experience as a former CSE student at KIET, choosing KIET over JSS Noida will be no doubt a good choice. You’ll also get the best infrastructure and faculty in the CSE branch.  There are considerably more opportunities here to do something unique in your field. I have seen my seniors getting placed at reputed companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Adobe, Accenture, and Infosys, to name just a few. Just last year, i.e. 2023, the highest package that they secured was INR 48.89 LPA. Moreover, about 93.98% of my seniors were successfully placed. Read more

Ques. Which one is better: IT in IIIT Allahabad or CSE in BITS Goa?

● Top Answer By Muktesh Shukla on 21 Mar 23

Ans. The IT degree at IIIT Allahabad is considered one of the best in India, and it is aligned with the CSE curriculum from the best IITs and NITs in India. The professors are a mixed bag, with some highly qualified, doing good research, and teaching well, while some may be uninteresting. However, with some self-motivation, the academic landscape is quite good.  IIIT Allahabad has a great culture for programming, which can help you become a serious developer. The infrastructure is good, the campus is green, and the architecture is impressive, with the added benefit of being centrally air-conditioned. On the downside, the city life in Allahabad is not great, especially if you come from a metro city. You may experience a cultural shock. The research environment is not exceptional, and there are only a handful of students aspiring to pursue higher education. You will find yourself in a batch of more than 200 students, in which you have to create your own identity. The weather is terrible, with extremely hot summers and cold winters (although some people may like the winters). The sports infrastructure is not the most amazing one. In summary, here's the verdict: If you're interested in research and want to pursue technical education further in your career, BITS Goa may be the right choice for you. If you want a great Indian IT job after your degree, IIIT Allahabad may be the right choice for you. If you're looking for a better peer group, better girls, and a more happening city life, BITS Goa may be the right choice for you. If you're serious about programming and have a penchant for Competitive Programming, IIIT Allahabad may be the right choice for you.Read more

Ques. Should I go to LPU (Lovely Professional University) or Manipal University Jaipur for a B.Tech (IT)?

● Top Answer By Tushar Kathuria on 04 May 24

Ans. As a former student of B.Tech IT at LPU, I can only provide information about my own college. Here are a few benefits of joining LPU for your B.Tech IT- Scholarships -  LPU offers scholarships to those who perform well in 12th grade or various entrance exams. These scholarships continue for the entire B.Tech course. This brings down the course fee for meritorious students by a great extent.  Placements-  The university performs quite well in IT placements. Companies like HTC and Cognizant visit the campus for mass recruitments, and offer decent salary packages to CSE and IT graduates. Other companies recruit a lesser number of students, but they offer handsome salary packages. For a hardworking IT student, LPU offers good placement opportunities. Faculty-  The IT faculty is decent, and some of the teachers are very good. Exposure-  LPU is home to students from various parts of the country, and thus, it offers excellent exposure. Each student gets a platform at LPU to enhance their skills and learn new things. These are some of the many reasons I chose LPU for my B.Tech IT. Read more

Ques. How many marks are required to get an admission in NIT Warangal CSE, IT or in the electronics branch?

● Top Answer By Shivani Singh on 19 Aug 23

Ans. To get admission into NITW, you need to secure a certain rank in the JEE Mains exam.  These are the closing ranks for round 6 of JoSAA counseling to get admission into these branches at NIT Warangal, for 2023: Course Quota  Seat-Type Gender Closing Rank CSE HS Open Gender-neutral 3115 CSE OS Open Gender-neutral 2413 ECE HS Open Gender-neutral 6516 ECE OS Open Gender-neutral 5814 ECE (VLSI) HS Open Gender-neutral 7103 ECE (VLSI) OS Open Gender-neutral 7047 EEE HS Open Gender-neutral 11388 EEE OS Open Gender-neutral 9265 Out of the branches mentioned by you, NIT Warangal does not provide B.Tech IT. You can also check the 2023-2024 cutoffs of other branches and categories for NITW However, I would like to tell highlight a few things- Electronics and Electrical value your ability to remember random figures rather than polishing your technical knowledge.  The syllabus and question paper for both these courses is below par at NIT Warangal. The syllabus for them is outdated. Placements are high at NITW, but software profiles are mostly offered.  Most students start coding from their pre-final year because of low placement chances in the core companies of other disciplines.  The college infrastructure and hostel facilities may disappoint you.  Government colleges other than IIT D, B, and K are lagging behind in reality. They have subpar infrastructure and their administration is old and rigid. They offer no extra support and opportunities to their students. All of this combined with the rigorous academic schedule causes plenty of frustration. Read more

Ques. Which is the better option; doing computer engineering at SVNIT-Surat, Gujarat or b.tech in ict at DA-IICT Gandhinagar, Gujarat?

● Top Answer By Jatin Shaha on 03 Jan 24

Ans. I am a resident of Surat, and SVNIT is very close to my house. During my college admissions, I was in the same dilemma. So I spent about a week at both the colleges to make a more informed choice. One of the professors at SVNIT suggested that I opt for B.Tech ICT at DAIICT over Computer Engineering at SVNIT. He told me that DAIICT is a better option for computer related branches. Here are some pros of joining DAIICT as a B.Tech ICT student- The placements at DAIICT are comparatively better. Though the NITs have an established brand name, the reputation of DAIICT is better than SVNIT in top companies like Amazon, Morgan Stanley, MAQ, etc. It has a greater number of GSoC qualifiers, and a better environment for Open Source Coding. The environment is superior for competitive coding as well, and students participate in great numbers in online programming contests on platforms like codeforces, etc. A large number of students prepare for exams like GRE, CAT, etc. Thus, a B.Tech ICT at DAIICT is better in comparison to Computer Engineering at SVNIT.Read more
