Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is not decided by the college. It majorly depends on VTU. Curriculum definitely includes all the niche subjects and technologies to actually prepare the candidates for real world applications. Traditional teaching methods were used during 2010. However, I believe that college has adopted comprehensive digital teaching methods now. Frequency of exams is semester wise (once in 6 months) and there were 3 internal tests held for every semester.

Placement Experience

3

Initially back in 2014 when I passed out, the placement opportunities provided were not many. However they had good placement co-ordinators. I believe the placements have improved now. Many companies visited back then, like HP, Infosys etc. However, students were also encouraged to take part in Pool Campus interviews to get hired. Highest package was around 4 lakhs per annum for freshers. Only around 15-20 percent of students got placed through the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees paid was around 40000 back in 2010 for a seat gained through Common Entrance Test. There was no college fees charged separately. For management seats and seats gained through Comed-K, the price may vary. I am not aware of the fees charged for other categories. I don't think the college offers any scholarships as such.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was definitely vibrant with many fests happening throughout the year. The college offers good well-stocked library with good collection of books and journals. Facilities and technology provisions in seminar halls were good too. I don't think college offered any extra curricular activities as such.

Admission

I chose the Oxford College of Engineering as I managed to get the seat through KEA Common Entrance Test process. I had known aquaintances who had studied in this institution earlier. Therefore, I dint apply to other colleges. Admission process was mainly done through Common Entrance Test and college did not charge any additional college fees at that time. Admission process was smooth and there were no hassles encountered.

Faculty

5

Faculty to student ratio was apt. The faculty maintained a good rapport with the students and they were approachable. Best faculties were Mrs.Bindya, Mrs.Kathyayini and Mrs.Vishalini. The institution is affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University. Therefore, the syllabus and exams majorly depend on the university. Exam difficulty level varies accordingly. If student fails to clear any subject, they can attend a supplementary exam to clear that.

Interview Experience

3

No we did not face any Group discussions or interviews as the seat was provided through KEA common entrance test. No other interviews were held at the college level for providing admission. There was no other preparation involved that way.

Night Life

3

I have no idea about the night life in the college campus as I was not staying in the college hostel. There were few good hangout spots and eateries around the campus. College also had a canteen and a small shop where we could buy some quick snacks or eats.

The institute records an impressive average package of ~INR 7.20 LPA and the highest packages reaching up to INR 53.50 LPA. The college actively drives employability through a dedicated 'Talent Transformation Hub'. Campus Placements Overview CIT is known for its solid industry connections, resulting in 80–90% placement rates annually. Top Recruiters: Companies like Accenture, Infosys, HP, Amazon, and Samsung. The Process: The placement cell conducts specialized skill-building boot camps and provides structured mentorship to ensure students are corporate-ready by graduation. If Placements Fall Short: Employability & Alternative Plans Even though CIT consistently places the vast majority of its batch, students who do not secure on-campus job offers (or wish to pursue other paths) have robust support through: Startup & Entrepreneurial Initiatives: CIT has an active E-Cell and a business connection to help budding founders. The Talent Transformation Hub focuses on practical knowledge needed to start a business. Higher Education: Students frequently leverage the college's alumni network and faculty mentorship to prepare for competitive exams like GATE, or to apply for Master's programs (MS, M.Tech) in India or abroad.
