RCC Institute Of Information Technology: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 278 Reviews

The faculty at the college is generally well-qualified and experienced, with many holding doctoral degrees and having substantial teaching and industry experience. There are approximately 16 faculty members in each department, and the faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:20 to 1:25. Faculty members are mostly approachable and supportive, providing adequate guidance in projects and preparing students for competitive exams. However, some faculty prefer teaching in Bengali, which may cause issues for non-local students.

In departments like Computer Science and Electronics, faculty members are specifically noted for being helpful and guiding students effectively through their academic journey. The faculty is involved in both theoretical and practical aspects, ensuring a balanced learning experience. Assessments include multiple internal exams and end-semester exams, adhering to university guidelines. Despite a few criticisms regarding language preferences and the need for more practical industry alignment in some core branches, the faculty is generally regarded as supportive and competent, with a system in place for addressing student grievances through mentors.

Faculty:

The faculty-to-student ratio is approx 1:20 to 1:25 depending on the department. Most faculty members are knowledgeable , experienced and supportive . Professors are approachable and students can clear doubt after the class or during office hours. Some professors are strict and focus more on theoryrather than practical classes. some faculties that i like is Dr Asim Kumar Das sir and Dr Ranjan Bhattacharya because supportive in project work, coding and research. Icannot take any names but i can tell why i dont like because some teracher is very strict and not a friendly nature. The examination system is follows the MAKAUT guidelines each semester consist of Two Internals Exams and End Semester Exam and Lab and VIVA exams.Exams are not extremely tough but require proper preparations around 5%-10% students struggle to clear difficult subject in there first attempt. CSE and IT curriculam is relevant core branches (ECE,EE,ME) could use more industry allignment.

Faculty and student ratio is 1:10 not good at all Faculty are so poor that they even don't want to use lift as they stand a proper watchmen they are average faculties need to improve some manner I like the computer science and engineering dept as the professor they are really good and amazing teaching style was awesome and very caring and providing important tips and notes for student through what'saap and all physically notes given to students I didn't know about other facilities that much So there are three continuous internal assessments in every semester consists of 20 marks each subject out of 60 marks (3 assessment) It will counter as internal marks for end semester examination in theory out of 100 and same as practical you have attend all the practical classes if you miss you miss 10 marks for example subject like chemistry so be very careful each practical as 10 marks you have to do 6 experience out of 7 so it take marks as your internal practical marks out of 60 and remaing 40 was your end semester examination for practical Generally it is easy - medium to score good marks in continuous internal assessments So best of luck ????

The faculty-to-student ratio was fairly balanced, ensuring that classes were not too crowded. Most professors are approachable and willing to help students. the relationship between student and teacher was generally good . Among the faculty, i particularly appreciated Prof.Arijit Ghosh, who taught us Scientific Computing . his teaching style was interective and engaging.Prof. Nandan Bhattachariya was highly respected for his depth of knowledge in communication subjects . I don't like Prof. Apu Mistry . didn't seem as interested in student engagement. The course structure followed a semester system , with four class assessments and one final exam end of that semester.10-20% students failed.Course Curriculam is quite relevant.

The faculty to student ratio was 1:20.The telationship between students and faculties wete very amiable. Faculty was very particular about mainitaining the class timings and was always approachable after the class hours for any kind of issues related or not related to studies. All faculty members were good. Exams were very difficult. But faculty members were very helpful to prepare the students to handle difficult questions. So the assignments they gave were of even higher levels. So it was not very hard for the students to pass in the exams.
