Model Engineering College Review

Likes

I have liked the campus very much as it is a small campus we can go anywhere quickly
There are various opportunities available for us especially if u join a club
We have strong like minded community that is really active and supportive

Dislikes

It's a very small campus compared to others
Building is a bit too old and lack of infrastructure
There isn't much sports opportunities well I can't complaint about that

Placement Experience:

The only good thing about this college is its placements. Model Engineering College is well known for its placement even competing with CET. We have an average of 6-8 LPA and highest package was 50CTC. 90% of students are placed mostly every year. I am planning to be a developer and gain experience and become an entrepreneur. We are eligible for placements from S5

Placements @MEC

Likes

The placements are awesome, the luminous are really supporting the college very well.
So basically here students are the leaders students almost manage everything in the college like activity hackathons programs etc.

Dislikes

The college is say unit of ihrd so I think it is because of this that the infrastructure is not that much good.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college was extraordinary officially 100% of the students are getting placed in Computer Science Engineering other department also have good placements. The alumini connection is very strong here. Many of the aluminious are placed in Big MNCs

Likes

Small campus makes a better bonding among other students and strong alumni
Campus is near Ernakulam town, which makes easier access on everything
Different clubs and cells are there to provide huge exposure to students

Dislikes

Womens hostel is a bit far from college, which makes tougher to go back and eat food during lunch break.
Washrooms are not so clean, especially the old building ones
not so spacious compared to other colleges.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement startes from semester 6 onwards. From S5 there will be interships provided, but only limited seats available. Highest package offered last year was 55CTC fro two students. Before that 33 CTC was the highest. Most of students from cse gets placed.

In comparison to other top colleges campus is bit smaller
Old infrastructure and maintenance , lacking in adequate classrooms
Tightly cramped and rigorous academic schedule

Placement Experience:

Placements begin from 7th semester for students at Model Engineering College. Many companies visit such as Oracle, Ansys, IBM, SOTI,Harman and so on. Average package is 8.1 lpa and highest package is 52 lpa.

Great faculty that is passionate about teaching
Great alumni network that frequently provides monetary donations and help regarding college events and workships

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are available and they are generally described to be the highlight of the college. Students begin to become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester onwards. Usually average package is around 7-8 lpa and about 80-90% gain placements.

The placement opportunities are very good.
The alumni is very strong and still supports the college even after passing out

The campus area is very small and uniform

The placements of this college is very good and it is one of the main reasons not only me but everyone chooses this college.last year the highest package was 52 LPA which was received by two students.

Our college has good placement assistance and placement offers.
Our college is student friendly and give values to our opininon

Dislikes

Our campus is considerably small in size or area as compared to other campuses.

Placement Experience:

Our campus has 100 percentage placement assistance and over 80 percent of the students get placed in campus placements.Our campus is in one of the top three campuses with highest placement in kerala and offers an average package of about 3 lakhs

Exploring MEC

Likes

The closed knit companion shop between students.
Almost all the programs are conducted by students therefore every student learns about managing events, speaking to sponsors
The number of clubs and workshops they offer throughout the year.

Dislikes

The only downside of the college is the infrastructure. It only consists of two blocks and a rather small campus.

Placement Experience:

The students are ready for campus placement from the 7th semester. Nvidia, Ericsson, Harman, IBM, Oracle, Yahoo, Amazon, etc are the companies that visit for placement. The highest package was 52 lakhs CTC in 2024 and the average is around 7 lakhs CTC. The total number of offers made in 2022 was 416.

MEC is The Best Engineering College in Kerala for Placements

Likes

The curriculum is well structured and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The emphasis on on research and innovation is commendable and students are encouraged to engage in various academic projects and seminars.
The faculty are highly qualified and experienced in their respective field.

Dislikes

The main building is a bit old and looks lousy.
There can be an overwhelming number of events organised at the same time making it difficult for us to balance our academic and extracurricular activities.
The college wifi does not work from time to time.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placements after the 5th semester. The computer science department generally has the highest and the most number of offers generally. This year the highest offer was 52LPA from DE Shaw and Co. The average package is around 6-8LPA. Almost all student except the ones who opt for highest studies get placed.

MEC has an excellent placement cell.The placement cell has been extremely good for the past 5 years.
There are many skill that helps you to grow your skills such tinker hub and many others.

Dislikes

MEC is confined to a small space right in the centre of kochi.The small campus makes it difficult for you to enjoy a campus life.
The first year classes are from 8.30-3.30 which is too early especially for day scholars.
The college hostel can accommodate only upto 200 members in case of boys and it is much lower for girls.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. In this year ,for 120 students,the cs dept had around 140 offers(1 student may be having more than 1 offer). The highest package was 52 LPA at DE shaw and co. The average package is around 6-8LPA 100% placements in CSE.
