About GECK
Government Engineering College (GECK), Kozhikode was started by the Government of Kerala in 1999. College started its working 1999 in the hostel of the Government Polytechnic at West Hill. After a seven-year working in 24-July-2006 College has been shifted to its own buildings. Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan inaugurated the new block of the college

- Vision of the college is “Hub of technological brilliance having international acceptance which tunes up professionals with social responsibility”
- Mision of the college is “To train the talented youth to become competent engineers through efficient engineering education to enable them to effectively deal with the demand and the challenges of the modern day technology at all levels for the betterment of our nation and humanity"

- The campus is situated at West Hill is well connected to the Kozhikode city by open and wide roads, the institute campus is about 5 km away from the Kozhikode main railway station, 4 km. from the private bus terminal and 30 Km. from Calicut International airport

- Atmosphere is good, classes are in good condition.
- Infrastructure is good, campus is not bad.

- Campus is small and blocks are nearby without spacing.

Admission:
Mainly it is situated in Kozhikode, which i have to explore the people, cultres, foodetc. Its a new beginning to my life with new openings. I like to travel. My native is Kottayam so its a big joureny for me.

- Good faculties who have studied at top institutions in and out side of india
- Helping mentality of faculties which compared to other collages is great
Dislikes
- College campus is very conjusted but its okay to go with it
- Road to the college is also not good and very tough enought to get in
Admission:
I only put mechanical engineering in all collages which i applied for admission. I had a great love to took admission in mechanical engineering at best 2 collages engineering collages in kerala which are College Of Engineeing Trivandrum and Goverment Engineeing College,Thrissur which are soo good collages which gets nirf rankings for best collages in india but i didnt have enough rank in KEAM exam which is an entrance exam for admission to engineering collages and after i got admission into my current college Government Engineering Collge, Kozhikode

- The first thing I like to start with is the quality of the teaching faculty. Especially the department (Civil) I am from, the teachers are very well qualified and most of them hold doctorates from IISC, IITs, NITs, etc.
- Apart from their qualifications, they are technically also very sound and we can understand this from the experiences they share in the classes. Apart from that the faculties are also keen in making the students qualify for GATE and other placements.
Dislikes
- The following are not something that I disliked, but are my concerns. The first one being the small size of college and very less playing facilities. As I came from a school that focuses on physical activities very much, I felt this as a concern.
- Also the placements do not provide adequate salary packages. Mostly civil engineering companies hire employees with a low package. Also the time after Covid-19 breakout was of recession. Hence I think that also might be a problem.
Admission:
All the 12th qualified students having PCM in their schooling can apply for the B.tech course. For the same purpose students will have to register in cee.kerala.gov.in and apply for KEAM entrance. The entrance fee for engineering is ?875/- for general category and ?375/- for SC category. Reservations are available based on categories and each category will have specific number of seats in each colleges. Exams are of average difficulty level and 2 internal exams will be there in each semesters with the concluding university exams of each semesters.

- The Campus i like the most,and the placement cell.The overall things college is really well.
Dislikes
- Its all about study leave doesn't get time to study.The students are geting stressed of it.
Admission:
I had written Lateral Entry Test for my B-tech admission.Or also we can write KEAM to get admission in engineering colleges.Iam not sure about the cut-off mark ithink its 50.Tge eligibility of my course is 12th in boi science or diploma in engineering.The admission process takes one day due to lot of students had for it.before that i had registered in LBS through site.

- The college is near to town and so the travel facility are good
- The college provides 5 different engineering displines.
Dislikes
- The campus area is little bit small and looks like congested.
- No proper ground facility for the college itself.
Admission:
The admission process was really good. The addmission was through the entrance named KEAM. The students were alloted as per their rank. Reservation were available for the admission and it will should provided at the time of application. The exams were held at regular intervals. There were internals exams and other exams for the students.

- Our college is a ragging free campus. Seniors are very friendly
- Easy to reach the college. Its also near the railway station
Dislikes
- It’s a small campus. only around 10 acres
- There is no separate football ground for the college. we use the ground of polytechnic college

You'll only get admission through KEAM exams. But what I found wrong is that your plus two marks are taken for making your entrance score, so even if you score well in KEAM it doesn't matter. cut-off is around 7000 for CSD department. If you have reservation there is more chance you can get in
