  • I haven't got any challenges on accommodation; it is ready to move in when you can find the vacant home on the internet like google or you can connect through fellow students for more information or room sharing if you are comfortable doing that and buy a car for better travel purposes and have some cash with you.

  • Job opportunities after completing the master's in data science at the University of Arizona are quite promising. While exact numbers can vary year to year: a significant portion of students, around 70 to 80%, secure a job within six months of graduation, especially those who actively network and utilize university resources.

  • The process for finding accommodation is that you have to search for accommodation on the university portal. On the university portal, there are two options for on-campus and off-campus accommodations; you can choose whichever feels right or is in the budget.
  • I would prefer going through these accommodations which are offered by (College) itself; staying apart from it becomes challenging because the vicinity is not that safe and people might overcharge you.
  • I have stayed in Midtown on 1st, which was quite budget friendly but it was unfurnished and had no utilities like Cooking station, oven, microwave or dishwasher. I have even stayed at Agave 350, which is quite the best because they even provide you gated security for you and the packages that arrive when you order from Amazon. The plus point over here was that it felt quite safe in Agave compared to Midtown. If your budget is quite good, then i would suggest Agave 350; if you have a mid-range budget, then go for Midtown on 1st.

  • Still looking for a job; the market is a little bad right now. If you have good experience in India, you can take a chance and come here.
  • Average salary for a STEM course would be 80K to 100K. Students find jobs through referral and cold emailing. Salaries can go up to 120K if the candidate is really good. experience matters!

  • Through alumni, we can find good accommodation. Finding roommates is the real task. You can find both cheap ones and expensive ones here.
  • Apartments near universities might be comparatively expensive. Campus crossing is a good place to live. Entrada is also a good option. Average $500 per month.

  • It is very difficult to get a full-time job because of sponsorship in the United States so be ready to get rejected.
  • LinkedIn, handshake are some job portals to find a job. I haven't got an offer yet so I can't comment on the salary; just say it is 80-120K.

  • I find it through some online portals but you can also search for on-campus stays. If you need the best gym, consider any student housing near south recreation centre. North one is not that great.

  • I am unsure about the percentage of graduate batch students securing employment within the first 6 months of graduating. The job market is saturated as it stands - with every SWE, MIS person all applying for the same roles as DS students go for. So it is very difficult as it stands to get an open road towards a job.
  • Annually, the salary range is from $80k to $100k for data science positions. Again, unsure about how students usually do it since this degree is new. There are campus fairs which happen regularly for sure, but unsure about their practical usability. LinkedIn, handshake and indeed are far more in use. Credit one Bank hires regularly.

  • I used online platforms to search for off campus housing. That and coordination with other students enrolling in the same batch via WhatsApp got me my house for rent. My monthly rent was about $500 for a 2B 1 bathroom house for 4 people sharing.
  • One recommendation is to not go for the cheapest residency since the facilities and maintenance may not be up to standard - as we experienced. Also, ensure that the utility bills are kept in check and accounted for correctly.
  • Tucson is very hot in summers and unsafe after dark - so ensure you have both bills and safety in check. My current house is a 5 minute walk from campus - and most Indian students live within a 10 minute walking radius from campus. (Although more expensive housing)

  • As far as I know almost 50% of students who have graduated still struggle to land a full time, visa sponsoring job. But, most of the students consider PhD as they’ll be funded by the university to finish their PhD with stipend for their research work.
  • There’s nothing like on campus placements but the university has career advisors who help students with their career development and while applying for jobs as well. Apart from that the university organizes and hosts a lot of career fairs that can be helpful as well. But the students definitely will have to make a lot of efforts from their end specifically for STEM students.

  • I Live in a off-campus apartment called which is just 15 minutes away from the university. I found this accommodation after reaching out to previous students on LinkedIn. I live in a unfurnished 4 bedroom apartment and I share it with 3 other grad students and my share of rent + utilities will be almost $500 - $550 / month. It was challenging to find accommodation staying in India and without actually looking at the place in-person and just trusting someone, once we got here we actually felt scammed as we where shown a different unit and the one we actually paid for looked very old and was falling apart. We failed to understand the management was not really good but now we moved into a better unit.

There are many research opportunities here. Especially if you are into aerospace or related to that it's the best university I would say.

My Data Science course is ranked 9th by Forbes so I chose this university. Also, the living expenses are minimal here. Moreover, there are many facilities provided by the university like cat tran, safe ride, campus pantry, etc. There are many on-campus opportunities too. The faculty is also good.

There are no placements that happen per say but we do have job fairs. In these job fairs, some of the companies conduct interviews. There were few internship opportunities from my department. Median salary would be around $80000.

I chose this university because: 1. The course curriculum it offers; we have the flexibility to choose our own electives from different disciplines related to our field. 2. Experienced faculty with a huge number of citations. 3. Good College and program ranking Overall experience at the University - satisfied

We are government-funded and there are lots of biotech/medical opportunities, but it is competitive, I haven't graduated yet .

My overall experience is overwhelmingly positive. I met a lot of incredibly nice people and my program's research is cutting-edge. My PI's were all very nice and I like being able to be hands-on. I have joined the MCBC and gaming club. My dorm is extremely clean. I chose this college because of the research opportunities and great program/connections/networking.
