What students say about University of Minnesota - Twin Cities

Likes

  • I think its perfect for my program, and it covers everything that I need to know to be equipped for a job in business management.
  • I believe so, to be honest. Im not 100% sure because I never looked into it and was never given the opportunity to even look at some.
  • There are good Fortune 500 companies in the area, and people and places all over the US recognize it.
  • There is so much to do, with around 900 clubs, good sporting teams, and the recwell center is amazing.
  • There are many fees included in the structure, including tuition, books, dorms, and student fees to use things such as the school gym and other resources around campus.
  • The teachers I have had are truly invested in the students and ensuring that we are doing well in school.
  • I also liked that they had a good pre-health program, which would allow me to explore the option of attending graduate school here.

  • While I do not feel that I dislike my college, I do not like the weather in Minneapolis. It gets colder during the winter months making it difficult to go out. null

I chose this university as it is one of the best university in the world for Chemical Engineering. Overall, my experience has been good. Since there is a significant population of Indian students, it is easy to adjust into the university culture. In addition, a lot of sporting facilities are available in the university where one can spend time apart from academics. The library in the university is very vast with nearly all the books.

I chose this university because of the business program, the Carlson School of Management is ranked very highly across the nation for business schools. So far the college experience is great and I have zero complaints, I would definitely recommend to other students!

Dislikes:

  • The campus is a little far from the cities, which may not be a big Yikes since there are transportation available for free, and paid as well. Good opportunity to earn money while on campus but still not enough, since mostly goes to the Work-Study program funds, which is for Domestic Students only. null

So far as an freshman, I got to make some friends for life and experiences beyond of what I could of with traditional upbringing and to be dependency on my own self has definitely molded me into a better version with time and I am happy and grateful for this.

  • I don't have much dislike to point out from University perspective. But the winter there was extremely cold. As my stay was short duration, I was not able to access few of intranet sit which updates about the University activities, holidays, bus service etc. The bus service information did not update sometimes and I missed most of it .

It was wonderful and great. I feel great that I could get the chance to extend to bilateral development and cultural exchange.

It was scary at first moving to a new country and not knowing anything but the welcoming nature and inclusiveness of the people made me feel at home and the curriculum is designed well and had ample opportunities to grow in this environment.

I applied for this college because it was the cheapest. I transferred to UMD from Michigan Tech my sophomore year because I couldn't afford Michigan Tech anymore. I only applied to 2 schools during my senior year of high school. The application fees for Michigan Tech were free but at UMD it was $50.

The programs they offered were exactly what I was looking for. Most colleges did not offer any animal science-based programs, hence my decision. Plus I could live closer to home so that was another reason.

It had the program I wanted. I liked the location of the school and the class sizes were smaller. The school offered different groups and teams that Iike and wanted to be apart of. I had friends who went to school as well.

The best school I got into so I opted for this college. I also liked that they had a good pre-health program which would allow me to look into going to graduate school here. I also liked that they were a research institution.
