21 June 2025: The University of Akron has updated its English language proficiency criteria for graduate admissions. It now accepts the Duolingo English Test (DET) with a minimum score of 115, in addition to TOEFL (79) and IELTS (6.5). All test scores must be no more than two years old at the time of application.
