Tips to enhance your application
- Personalize your statement of purpose, show your achievements to the faculty, and tell what you like most about the university, like specific professors and their research projects.
Admission Experience
- My experience was enriched by supportive faculty and excellent resources for both academics and extracurriculars. The career services and TAship helped me grow professionally, making my time at UA both rewarding and memorable.
Class Schedule
- There were 2-3 classes 4 times a week. Timings are mostly from morning to afternoon. It's going to be 1.5 hours for each class. Mostly my classmates were Indian.
- It will take approximately 2-3 hr for each assignment, depending on your skills and the difficulty of the assignment. Yes, self-study at home is possible.
Faculty
- The faculties are good, but it always depends on the course, and I cannot disclose any professors' names, but yeah, almost all the professors whose courses I attended were pretty good and were always helpful.
Campus Life
- I don't know the number of campuses, but you can always check it on their website. Mine was the College of Information; clubs are SASA. They do host some events like parties on the campus, hiking trips, etc.
Part Time Jobs
- It is very hard to get jobs right now. Meet them in person or apply via handshake.
- From my batch, only 2 of them got TA/RA roles. I was one of the TAs. They cover your whole education expenses based on the FTE rate. For .25 FTE, pay is ~$1500 monthly, and for .5 FTE, it is ~$2000.
- Basic pay for other on-campus jobs is $14.5/hr. No, it is not easy to get on-campus jobs. Try early and meet them in person; that increases your chances of getting a job. Max is 20 hr a week.
Placement
- It is very difficult to get a full-time job because of sponsorship in the United States so be ready to get rejected.
- LinkedIn, handshake are some job portals to find a job. I haven't got an offer yet so I can't comment on the salary; just say it is 80-120K.
Accommodation
- I find it through some online portals but you can also search for on-campus stays. If you need the best gym, consider any student housing near south recreation centre. North one is not that great.
