The faculty members are really good as they are great researchers in their respective fields.
Dislikes
But, if we talk about scholarship then it's a bad news that there is no institute scholarship for unreserved students but u can get it for other organisations like nsp.
The hostel rooms are also not good enough and lack cleanliness sometimes and have broken chairs/ tables, etc. at times.
The academic workload can be sometimes demanding, not always but sometimes, leading to stress and pressure among students.

Placements are very good and almost every student who sits for placement gets an offer. Average placement is about 17-18 LPA
The highest package was 2.5 cr in 2021. Large profiles are offered including finance, consultancy, software engineering, and many others.
Course for B.Tech in chemical engineering is of 4 years. It is the same as a normal engineering course. The 1st year is common for all students. Then segregation starts from the 2nd year and onwards. The faculty are highly educated and cooperative. There is one professor for each batch appointed as a mentor who guides the students in careers and any other problems.
One of the best in the country. While most of the students get placed in coding and data profiles, a recent surge in interest in other fields like finance, consulting, PM has been observed. The average CTC is 14 lpa and the median is somewhere close to that. Again, everyone lands a 1 crore job is hokum.
Placements are quite average, from the 7th semester(in pre final year) students become eligible for campus placement. there are lots of companies visit the campus almost 150 to 200. and almost 900 to 1000 offers made every year by the companies. the highest package almost 1cr+ and the average package is 30lac+. Almost 85 to 90% of students get placement offer.
Having a predilection towards science and mathematics, I wanted to get into one of the best engineering universities in our country and IIT kharagpur was an obvious choice. I grew a lot because of the peer group and the academic environment there. The flexibility and opportunities of pursuing interests outside of your course is what I liked the most about this college. I chose this degree because it was relatively light, syllabus wise and hence I would get ample time to explore other interests and opportunities and grow as an individual.
The college has a great faculty, alumni base and international reputation. The placements are awesome and research is good. Campus life is beautiful.
The campus is located in outskirts of town. No shopping complex or a good restaurant. This also hampers placements a little.
By giving JEE adv. Exam and if you score a rank under 10,000 then you can get into this IIT , but if you need a upper branch then you need to score a better rank which is under 2000 , but if you are in SC or ST category then process becomes somehow easy.
Again mentioning it is IIT Kharagpur, the oldest IIT in India, It is one of the best in terms of research, placements and extra circullar activities. We have the best proffesors across the country and obviously there are positive marks.
Less distraction, but on the same side we also have less Places like other big cities to enjoy. But we have many societies and clubs to make the most of our time and enjoy in our free time.
We call hostels as Hall and the hall culture is unmatched , we live like family and the bonding is just magical.
