Remarks

IIT conducts the entrance examination for graduate courses. And student needs to qualify for the examination. And the course is allowed according to the merit list to a qualified student. The reserved candidates can also avail the opportunity of reservation as per the govt decided rules and norms in the selection process.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course for B.Tech in chemical engineering is of 4 years. It is the same as a normal engineering course. The 1st year is common for all students. Then segregation starts from the 2nd year and onwards. The faculty are highly educated and cooperative. There is one professor for each batch appointed as a mentor who guides the students in careers and any other problems.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There is a mandatory Internship of 45 days for every student after the end of 3rd year. Student needs to find an internship if possible, otherwise, the department may arrange for a student in industry or research university.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition Fee structure is Rs 50,000 per year excluding accommodation, lodging and mess fees. For these there is. Rs 50000 per year. There is also various scholarship programme to which student can apply. Other than that there is also a student loan option at 0%interest loan.

Campus Life

Campus life is full of extracurricular activities. There is 3 championship competition among the hostels in cultural, technological and sports competition throughout the year. Other than that there is 2 festival. The campus also holds many cafeterias. Other than that there is a library to accommodate 2000 students with books.

Hostel Facilities

There are 18 hostels of college on campus with girls' and boys' hostels separate. There is a hostel management committee that administers the hostel and maintains the quality of accommodation and mess. Thus the student does not need to care for food and hostels.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

Clg Review

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More
