- Girls to boys ratio in our department is 1:3
- The faculty here is top notch and world renowned professors.

- The coursework is very heavy with lots of quiz, exams, assignments which can sometimes feel like a lot.
- The routine is very hectic with lots of classes throughout the day
- The mess food is not good, sometimes very oily and bad taste.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course is very theory heavy with less practical implications. Their should be some courses in sem 1 or 2 to help students prepare for placements. Also course pressure can be reduced so that students can practice for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:
Curriculum is good here . In my field chemistry I found it relatable to our life's. Nature is chemistry in itself. I found practice hand on experience in chemistry here . During research project in last semester you will feel like future scientist.

- Campus and hostel Security is really really good
- Professor are very helpful and always help to solve students any problem.
Dislikes
- I don't really like the Academic curriculum of the institute.
- Hostel mess is not good as we really expected.
- For other activities there are not time because academic always going on with full potential .
Placement Experience:
Placements are good in IIT kanpur for btech students but for masters course not really good as btech students.
From 2nd year of Master students are eligible to get ready for placement.
Avg package of iit kanpur is 27 LPA and highest approx 2 crore.

- College is very vast as one can expect from an IIT. People are of very helping nature. Campus is very safe with almost no restriction on students.
- Campus life is very smooth going with all the amenities present within campus. Campus host different fests, conferences, etc throughout the year.
- Faculty is top-notch. Most professors are very understanding of the need of the class and have a good way of delivering the lectures.
Dislikes
- Some courses here are really rigorous. Some professor makes it tough for even pass the paper with a good grade.
- Food delivery from outside the campus closes after 11pm, although canteens are open till 2am.
- The college is located on somewhat outskirts of Kanpur city, thus making the city markets, etc far yo reach. Though Metro eases out things somewhat.
Placement Experience:
IITs are known for their great strike rates in placements accross all the disciplines.
Companies like Google, microsoft, facebook, etc comes every year and offers huge amount of money, going as high as several crores, and averaging around 12,00,000 rs.
Data Analyst, software developer, etc are some of the profiles that are very popular.
I personally want to pursue PhD after my masters.

- There are lot off facilities for students as library,ncl ,playground, gym and many more
- There is very good infrastructure for sports

- Infrastructure for hostels is not very good

- Collage provides library which is open from 8 am 12 am (18 hours)and have best faculties
- Provides environment for different fields there are different clubs apart from studying students can do
- If some one wants to do research in maths they should come in this IIT
Dislikes
- Behaviour of some professor towards students they just wanted that level of there course should not drop
- Some Old hostels needed some restoration
- Free of coast public transport is not there in the campus
Placement Experience:
Generally mostly students coming in IITK only to go in research field . While some students are willing to take placement in Ed tec company but average package of Ed tec company is low in comparison to other IT sector companies. So if you are wanted to take placement don't come in this collage as Msc maths student other department are good in placements

- The campus is good. You can find everything you need inside the campus itself.
- There's always one or the other fest going on. Can enjoy college life.
- The professors are good, active researchers in their field.
Dislikes
- Triple occupancy hostels given in the first year.
- No placement for MSc Mathematics students.
- There's not much in Kanpur to visit and explore.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is more focused on pure mathematics but it's balanced nonetheless. There are plenty of courses and electives in applied maths too.
There are midsems and endsems in every semester. Apart from these, the instructor may take some quizzes and assignments for grading. Most of them use relative grading.

Remarks:
I choose this college because it has best chemistry department among all IITs and it has huge campus and I am also from UP and this college is also situated nearby me that?Ûªs why I choose this over others. The admission process was totally online at my time because of COVID. They will announce all the dates on their iitk webmail portal.

Remarks:
As after the IIT-JAM result, Students went through screening process where they can choose there college in a preference order and Myself choose IIT-Kanpur above than IIT-Delhi, After providing specific amount of seat booking fee, I received offer letter from IIT with whom we need to attach an medical form, and received a date of joining. Admission process were took around 7 days and admission process were smooth, and then journey starts, I choose IIT Kanpur because of great research opportunities in the field of science as well as world class faculties and facilities for students, Green and beautiful campus and some bad aspects i can say is every wherever you see you will find construction work going on, and there are so many things to do, you will think that you are missing so many things.And Now just passed master's programme and happily lived over there.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
