Course Curriculum Overview:
The course is a 2-year course and I a Masters/Postgraduate course. I am doing it in Mechanical Engineering as i did BTech in the same field
the students and teachers ratio is of 50 to 1 here in the college
The teachers are well qualified (all of them are Professors) with decades of teaching experience
The exams are conducted semester wise and are conducting a total of 4 times in the whole course

Placement Experience:
So we got work opportunities from diverse fields according to the expertise, some of the fields were manufacturing system, supply chain management, data analytics, supply chain management, logistics, infrastructure management, etc. The highest salary package offered was Rs. 21.5 LPA and the average salary of Rs. 12 LPA were offered in our final placement program. The recruiters who participated in the final campus recruitment were Deloitte, IBM, master card, PWC, Cognizant, Credit Suisse, Walmart, Core compete, Tata Motors, etc.

During your study, 92% of the students were placed with the highest package as 1.5 crores per annum, the average package as 15 lakh per annum, and the lowest package as 8 lakh per annum. Companies like Rolls Royce, Jaguar, HUL, ITC, Uber, Microsoft, Google, Reliance, Qualcomm, etc visited the campus for recruitment. To get an internship the students are required to score 8 CGPA in the 2nd year of study. From that in the interview, skills like communication negotiation and other soft skills were asked about. Most of the students who did not get placed went on for further study is like a PhD or an MBA.

The college placement record is very good. the return on investment is worth it. The college has a record of 100% placement. Most of the student also receives pre-placement offers during their internship programs. The highest package during our batch went up to 65 LPA and the average package was around 35 LPA. I also received an offer of 40 LPA from Google. Companies like Google and Microsoft offer attractive packages to the student and try to attract the best talent they can. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Ford, Mercedes Benz, etc visit our campus during the placement drive.

For MBA in IIT Kanpur, we have one person one job policy which means that once someone gets placed, they cant sit for further placements. This is done to make sure that every student gets chance. There is also a Pre placement policy ( PPO) where students can get jobs through summer internships. Some of the past recruiters are Deloitte, HDFC Bank, TresVista, Infosys and more.

Admission Process at IIT Kanpur: Apply using GATE Score then coding test for shortlisted candidates. Admission Process at IIT Guwahati: Apply using GATE Score. Admission Process at IIIT Hyderabad: Apply using GATE Score then interview for shortlisted candidates. IIT Kanpur is one of the top and old IITs and is near to my hometown. Seniors from IIT helped me in selecting the college.

I am freshie so right now saying tht much about placements and all would not give you good info but from.my knowledge it stars from after 2 sem end just register and appears for tht company based on your skills and branch
Avg package is about 10 to 15 highest package is of 1 crore from the overall analysis.
And about 70-80% since 2019 students gets placed but in the previous years 20-21 placements scenario is not tht good due to corona and all
I hope in the future everything will be sorted out.

my jee advance rank, distance from home, one factor is IIT Kanpur is good in research. IIT Kanpur is a bit different from most other IITs in terms of academics. Our grading system goes 10, 8, 6, 4, 2. In most other IITs it is something like 10, 9, 8, 7 That automatically means that if the professor doesn't think you deserve A, you get 8 in IITK and 9 in most other IITs. This worsens as the grade drops to C or D.

Remarks:
It's one of the best institute in the country and the Aerospace Engineering department is more than 50 years old. A very simple admission process with fees payment and document verification. Hassle free hostel allocation and other formalities like mail registration etc.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
