my jee advance rank, distance from home, one factor is IIT Kanpur is good in research. IIT Kanpur is a bit different from most other IITs in terms of academics. Our grading system goes 10, 8, 6, 4, 2. In most other IITs it is something like 10, 9, 8, 7 That automatically means that if the professor doesn't think you deserve A, you get 8 in IITK and 9 in most other IITs. This worsens as the grade drops to C or D.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Computer Science because I have huge interest in cs. The amazing things we can accomplish using computer knowledge always baffled me. And admit that at one stage every single one of us wanted to be a hacker. I had similar intentions at first but then I realized there are many other interesting things to do.there are too many field in cs like AI/ML and I loved this.
Internships Opportunities

Placement Experience
IIT Kanpur has excellent placements and has always shown improvement. About 85% of the students were placed through on-campus placements in the year 2020 with the highest international salary package of 1.5 crores per annum and a national salary package of 80 lacs per annum.companies like google, microsoft, amazon, flipkar, zomato, uber, ola, accenture, qure.ai, goldman, EXL, bajaj.
Fee Structure And Facilities
have huge scope in placement. you have to do some effort for getting scholarship. UG final year student and PG student have opportunity of TAship. become TA of any course. basically TA is guy who helps professor in conducting course.
Campus Life
there are lost annual fest like 1. Antaragni : is the Annual cultural festival.2. Udghosh : sports fest3. Galaxy : inter hall competitioninside campus there are lost of clubes like electronic club, programming club and more.
Hostel Facilities
very good hostel facility. In ug halls there is committee who take care of all facilities. mess food is too good and too cheaper. in mess menu cover mostly all indian food. there is option of extra food, if you don't like regular food then you can take extra food but for that you have to pay the required amount.
