Excellent placements: bits pilani has a strong industry network and consistently records high placement percentages, with many students securing job offers before graduation.
The faculty at bits are superb and also pretty chill at the same time.
Merit cum need scholarship is given to the best students who are poor but good in studies.

Dislikes

Grading is difficult , papers are also difficult
It has very bad bathing water, causes skin and hair issues
I hate the fact that there are lot of stray animals even in our hostels

BITS PILANI - Lead, Innovate, Acieve!

There are a lot of clubs and departments in the college, where you get to learn team spirit, leadership and management along with acquiring skills.
The practice sschool system in BITS is expensive but is very effective. It provides internships to students based on thir Branch and CGPA.
Faculty is very experienced at BITS. You can do multiple projects under them and get to learn a lot of things.

Dislikes

The ratio of boys and girls is approxilately 1:8. More no. of boys in clubs and associations somethimes makes it uneasy for girls to participate.
The marking sysytem is extremly tough, if your procedure is correct but the final answer is not correct because of some small calculation mistakes

Placement Experience:

The 5 year course students become elligible for internishs after the end of 3rd year and for placements after the end of 4th year. The 4 year course students become elligible for internships after end of 2nd year and for placements after end of 3rd year. The practice school 1 takes place after end of 2nd year in summer for both 4 year and 5 year course students and offers unpaid internships. The Practice school 2 takes place in 4th year for 4 year courses and in 5th year for 5 year course students. Students can choose to sit in either of the semester for placements. Usually good IT companies come in odd semester and non core companies of product, consulting come in even semester. Comapnies like rubric, tower research capital offer package in crores. Usually 75% of students get placed with an average package of 15LPA.

Likes

No attendance policy, students can miss lectures and focus on developing important skills
College life is epic, lots of clubs and lots of fests with high budgets
Clubs are epic as well, lots of skills are developed quickly

Dislikes

College is stuck in the past with no acs
Hostel Life and food could be wayyy better
Academic availability of teachers is quite low

Placement Experience:

Placements in my college are probably the best in the country after iit bombay. ALL major companies hire from here in all fields. The placement process could be a bit better through but however it is not Another thing is placement stats here are quite epic for a private College And it is better than most iits as well

Campus area is very good and large.there will be thousands of trees.
Faculty of bits Pilani is very helpful ..

There will be no any kind of strict ness in terms of attendance.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The teaching method of professors is brilliant. They will teach coding and programming. The time table of class is flexible according to students and professors. In this college exam is very tough. According to speed and accuracy you have enough time to complete the paper (exam)

Bits pilani- its magic

Likes

Zero attendance policy of bits pilani campuses
Extremely consistent and high placements
Lushious, beautiful and evergreen campuses

Dislikes

No personal vehicles allowed for commuting within campus
Campus curfew at 10:30 pm at night for security purposes
Lots of animals present in campus due to animal friendly policy

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placemnts from their 3rd year. Campus also offers two compulsory internships during the 4th and 6th semester. Placemnets percentage is 89% while other 11% continued for higher studies or founded startups.

The campus is very beautiful and pollution free.
The faculty are amazing and you can make your own timetable.
There is no attendance requirement so you can attend any lecture you want.

Dislikes

Hostel infrastructure is old and security is less. Things have been stolen.
Hostels are not clean and washrooms are bad.
Mess food doesnt taste good and you have to pay regardless of whether you eat or not.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements start from sem 7 for single degree and sem 9 for dual degree. The list of recruiters is available on the bits pilani site. A few recruiters are Amazon. Apple, Microsoft, Cisco etc. I plan on making my own startup.

High fees that is not affordable for many students
Weather of pilani is very extreme and not very livable
Mode of transport to campus and aroujd campus

Placemnt unit is very supportive and run by students who syruve hard to bring good companies. 2 time cycle per year and graet onternship season for 2 mobths summer internship. Tie up with many legacy companies

PRESENTING BITS FROM A BITSIAN

The most appealing thing about Bits is its admission process in which their is no reservation unlike other colleges, Bits recruits students on the basis of their merit.
The curriculum provided by Bits holds great strength compared to other colleges.
People here in Bits come from all over the country and interacting with such diverse population, making friends with them enhances your personality traits.

Dislikes

Bits has a very high fee structure for a common man to afford.

Placement Experience:

Placements here at Bits Pilani are exceptionally good but also depend on the students and the hard work done throughout their college life. Although talking of my branch, placements of core pharmacy don't seem to hold so good records but students from pharmacy shifting to non-core path get very good placement opportunities. A very high percentage of students get placed here others that do not opt for placements and go for higher studies. I would sit for the placement rounds but I aim to for higher studies.

Firstly the campus is really awesome. It's about 328 acres campus area so you will have a lot to explore in these 4 years. The campus have every single amenities that you want whether it be entertainment related or Acads related.
The seniors of BITS Pilani are the one thing that you can't compare to any other college. Seniors here are very helpful and you can ask them any doubts related to academics or non academics

Dislikes

The washroom hygiene is not very good. The hostel buildings need maintainence. But you will cope up with this. Also the mess food is hygienic but the taste is not up to the mark.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevancy I will say the courses are 10/10 as the entire curriculum and books are followed of International Universities which gives a broad idea about industrial environment. There are practice school for 2nd and 3rd year students for getting the industrial exposure. Due to this curriculum, the BITSIAN (BITS students) get a great advantage for applying in any Foreign university for masters or PhD. There are lecture classes in which you are taught about the chapter and it's concepts are discussed. Then there are tutorial classes in which you can ask your doubts in various topics or questions related to the chapter. Teachers in usually teach on slides and sometimes use blackboard. The exams here test the in depth knowledge of the subject so the method of just memorizing doesn't work here.

I liked the campus a lot.The infrastructure is quite good
Campus life is amazing. Seniorez are very helpful
Girls to boys ratio is around 1:10 with boys leading

Dislikes

I cant really think of anything that i dont like about the campus
Mess food is okayish only and not great as expexted
Hostels are not as clean although they are trying their best to clean the hostel

Placement Experience:

Placements are going amazing. A lot of seniors got 50lpa plus ppo from their internship that I personally know of. The placement is ongoing so I wont be able to tell that much but placement is going amazing than other iits.

About Bits pilani

Likes

The mess food that is present in the bits pilani campus is very good .
The alumni network of Bits pilani is also very strong.
The teachers in the bits pilani campus are also very good.

Dislikes

There are no air conditioners found in the bits pilani hostel rooms.
There is also much competition for the dual degree students.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements in the bits pilani is also very good . Everyone has also listened from many people that the average package of Computer science branch is also at par with the other IITs of India. Also many international companies visits bits for on campus placements.

BITS WILP is a two-year postgraduate level course, in which 15 specializations are offered by the university. It is a degree course that is completed mainly on weekends to enable students and professionals to gain a full-time degree course while continuing their professional pursuits.

Pros

You get associated with the BITS tag
You can do your PG alongside working
The course is rather easy and with the right dedication you can complete it in 2 yrs.
The syllabus is the same for both on and off-campus students

Cons

You won’t be able to sit for PG campus recruitment
Not many companies consider this degree valuable and thus makes it is difficult to land a job.
The admission criteria are rather flexible thus the peer pool is not very filtered.
Most of the subjects are from bachelors and lack relevance and rigor
There is no visible difference in the knowledge base of the students.
The classes are not conducted by the original BITS faculty.

In all, I think the cons overshadow the pros and don’t deem this course a very wise decision.

Is BITS Pilani "Pilani campus" better than IIT Roorkee or IIT Guwahati?

In my opinion, both BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee are in the same league while IIT Guwahati is a bit inferior to them. Let’s discuss further on the basis of some very common aspects

Core subjects: BITS Pilani does not focus on core subjects and the research culture is also very inactive. This is because of the extremely laid-back curriculum and attendance policy. The research opportunities offered are very less in comparison to IITs
Placements: In this aspect, BITS Pilani definitely fairs better with its flagship Practice School program. Students of this program receive many PPOs from top companies during internships arranged by the college itself.
Campus life: IMHO BITS offers the best campus life owing to the student-driven culture and great academic flexibility.
Performance: The institutes can be evaluated on the basis of the performance of their students in various entrance exams. IIT Roorkee students score the best in GATE, UPSC, etc. while BITS Pilani scores well in CAT, GMAT, and GRE.
Peer groups: The average student quality of both the institutes is somewhat similar with IIT Roorkee giving a slight edge to BITS Pilani in this aspect.

Both the colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them is illogical. I would say that if you are genuinely interested in CSE, then Pilani will be better for you than Roorkee. But if you aren’t certain of your area of interest then choose IIT Roorkee for its IIT tag.
