Excellent placements: bits pilani has a strong industry network and consistently records high placement percentages, with many students securing job offers before graduation.
The faculty at bits are superb and also pretty chill at the same time.
Merit cum need scholarship is given to the best students who are poor but good in studies.

Dislikes

Grading is difficult , papers are also difficult
It has very bad bathing water, causes skin and hair issues
I hate the fact that there are lot of stray animals even in our hostels

Bits Pilani overview

Likes

Its culture, people and peer group is very nice
Their internship and placements oppurtunities
Mess food and hostel rooms are quite livable

Dislikes

Its distance from the city as it is very far
The city weather is very extreme. Very hot in summer and very cold in winters
It has very bad bathing water, causes skin and hair issues

Placement Experience:

In the fourth year students become eligible for placements. All top companies visit BITS for placement. The average package can be near 15 Lakhs for all the branches combined. I will be looking for a job after the degree

Bits pilani the name says you all

Likes

There is no attendence policy you can have your time for learning
There is no reservation so admission is based on merit
And all the peers are of same mind so great peer group

Dislikes

Grading is difficult , papers are also difficult

Placement Experience:

I am currently third year actually placements are good until the last two years and average package is high and the opportunities are also great as it the brand value of bits college. So no worry if you are joining the college for placements

On the end of second last semester the students are eligible for placements. Many companies visit the campus. 95% students are placed in the campus. Average package is about 25 lpa. The placement cell is very good

Campus is beautiful and clean, spread over an area of 380 acre. Greenary is maintained all over and its safe for students.
Fest are amazing and this includes OASIS, the cultural fest of bits pilani which is also ranked as 2nd best fest in asia.
Alumini network of BITS is one of the best in INDIA alongside some of the top IITs. You can contact them through linked In and they are more than happy to help you. Alumini network is more than 70 years old.

Dislikes

College is located in a town location of Rajasthan. and only mode of transfer here is by bus from jaipur. Nearest railway station is 20 kms away that is luharu station.
Extreme climatic conditions of Pilani. In summers the temperature is as high as 45-50 degree celsius and in winters it drops up to 2 degree celsius.
High fees is also an issue. This much amount can not be afforded by all individuals.

Placement Experience:

Sadly its recession going on right now but in normal times it was head to head with top IITS. ROI of BITS is very commendable. Avrg package of top branches crosses 30 lpa. You must maintain a good cpga to be able to sit for placements. Again CGPA is the king boys. Top companies like FMAANG usually offer placement to BITSIANS. Placement overall is above avrg.

The placements increase is appreciable , like in the time of recession also it's quite good .
The campus is filled with green trees and lush bushes

Dislikes

The weather in this place is extreme which irritates you .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Electronics and Communication Engineering has booked through the years and I believe it's one of the core branches where manpower never gets saturated. I got an opportunity to do this degree at this prestigious university so why would I leave this for some other college or branch . We have quizzes, mid-semester, assignments, and comprehensive examinations throughout the semester.

BITS-Pilani It's Magic

It has 0 attendance policy which offered a lot of flexibility for the students.
The campus life was really exciting as there were a lot of clubs and departments which any student could join. The college offered ample opportunities for the students to focus on aspects of their career other than studies.
The placement cell at BITS is one of the best in India. A lot of companies from and outside of India are invited.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. The highest domestic package recieved as per my rememberance was 90 LPA and overall highest package recieved was 1.4 CrPA. The average package at BITS is 14 LPA. Almost 100 percent students were placed in the year 2022.

Infrastructure of pretty humongous and decent
Expericend faculties are available and ready to help

Dislikes

No attendance policy is not completely true and undeserving students get high marks
AC were to be installed but are not being installed in this hot climate

Placement Experience:

Placements of our college is at par compared to other colleges. The average goes about 17 to 18 lakes per annum. This obviously varies from branch to branch. The percentage of students getting placed is above 80

There is no reservation policy. So only talented students get admission
One of the best infrastructure in the whole country
The professors are also very highly qualified and educated.

Dislikes

It is very difficult to survive in the scorching heat in the summer season
The food outlets are not good here. The food quality is not good
Power cuts occur frequently in the hostel rooms.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am studying Electrical and electronics engineering here and I chose this branch as it has a lot of scope in future. It is a booming field nowadays which would offer a lot of jobs in future. The curriculum is very much aligned with the industry

I really appreciate the zero attendance policy .it's really worth studying in bits. the zero percent attendance policy helps in promoting startup culture and makes the college students more diversified in their respective fields
I really like the senior junior special interaction at bits .
infrastructure is worth the money that bitsian are giving

the high fees that we pay at bits can be a burden to our parents
high competition among bitsians because of no reservation
the fact that we have to stay away from our home .bits is the best

i really love the logic that we use in math courses.it requires curiosity and eagerness to learn . curriculum is well designed and is in accordance with foreign and future studies as well . by getting more inspired from foreign educational institutes .exams are held way to frequently and can sometimes cause burden

INSIGHTS ABOUT BITS PILANI

Likes

The infrastructure is of world class and constantly evolve.
The faculties are friendly and if you are willing to interact and learn from them, all of them are mostly available to help you anytime.
The diversity in campus is quite great, there are people from almost all parts of INDIA which makes you learn about different cultures and make you comfortable with all the culture. UNITY IN DIVERSITY.

Dislikes

For few people, the academics might be hectic as there are exams going on throughout the semester. And you have to study constantly to get decent grades
The connectivity to main city especially at night time is not very good.
The food outlets available at campus are not sufficient and can be more for sure.

Placement Experience:

The placements of BITS are well known CSE having the highest package. Median package can be anything near 20lakhs. Also many students gets PPO from PS-2. Also apart from the IT domain many opportunities are available in all the field. Comapanies like Google, Microsoft,Amazon, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, Etc. visit the campus regularly. From 4th year 1st semester single degree students become eligible for placements.

What is your review of BITS Pilani WILP?Does it consider to get lecturer job?

BITS WILP is a two-year postgraduate level course, in which 15 specializations are offered by the university. It is a degree course that is completed mainly on weekends to enable students and professionals to gain a full-time degree course while continuing their professional pursuits.

Pros

You get associated with the BITS tag
You can do your PG alongside working
The course is rather easy and with the right dedication you can complete it in 2 yrs.
The syllabus is the same for both on and off-campus students

Cons

You won’t be able to sit for PG campus recruitment
Not many companies consider this degree valuable and thus makes it is difficult to land a job.
The admission criteria are rather flexible thus the peer pool is not very filtered.
Most of the subjects are from bachelors and lack relevance and rigor
There is no visible difference in the knowledge base of the students.
The classes are not conducted by the original BITS faculty.

In all, I think the cons overshadow the pros and don’t deem this course a very wise decision.

Is BITS Pilani "Pilani campus" better than IIT Roorkee or IIT Guwahati?

In my opinion, both BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee are in the same league while IIT Guwahati is a bit inferior to them. Let’s discuss further on the basis of some very common aspects

Core subjects: BITS Pilani does not focus on core subjects and the research culture is also very inactive. This is because of the extremely laid-back curriculum and attendance policy. The research opportunities offered are very less in comparison to IITs
Placements: In this aspect, BITS Pilani definitely fairs better with its flagship Practice School program. Students of this program receive many PPOs from top companies during internships arranged by the college itself.
Campus life: IMHO BITS offers the best campus life owing to the student-driven culture and great academic flexibility.
Performance: The institutes can be evaluated on the basis of the performance of their students in various entrance exams. IIT Roorkee students score the best in GATE, UPSC, etc. while BITS Pilani scores well in CAT, GMAT, and GRE.
Peer groups: The average student quality of both the institutes is somewhat similar with IIT Roorkee giving a slight edge to BITS Pilani in this aspect.

Both the colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them is illogical. I would say that if you are genuinely interested in CSE, then Pilani will be better for you than Roorkee. But if you aren’t certain of your area of interest then choose IIT Roorkee for its IIT tag.
