Excellent placements: bits pilani has a strong industry network and consistently records high placement percentages, with many students securing job offers before graduation.
The faculty at bits are superb and also pretty chill at the same time.
Merit cum need scholarship is given to the best students who are poor but good in studies.

Dislikes

Grading is difficult , papers are also difficult
It has very bad bathing water, causes skin and hair issues
I hate the fact that there are lot of stray animals even in our hostels

INSIGHTS ABOUT BITS PILANI

Likes

The infrastructure is of world class and constantly evolve.
The faculties are friendly and if you are willing to interact and learn from them, all of them are mostly available to help you anytime.
The diversity in campus is quite great, there are people from almost all parts of INDIA which makes you learn about different cultures and make you comfortable with all the culture. UNITY IN DIVERSITY.

Dislikes

For few people, the academics might be hectic as there are exams going on throughout the semester. And you have to study constantly to get decent grades
The connectivity to main city especially at night time is not very good.
The food outlets available at campus are not sufficient and can be more for sure.

Placement Experience:

The placements of BITS are well known CSE having the highest package. Median package can be anything near 20lakhs. Also many students gets PPO from PS-2. Also apart from the IT domain many opportunities are available in all the field. Comapanies like Google, Microsoft,Amazon, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, Etc. visit the campus regularly. From 4th year 1st semester single degree students become eligible for placements.

A little more about BITS that you should know before joining it

Likes

The professors are experts in their subjects so are able to teach well
You get to make good peer groups that help you succeed
If you are willing to work, you can get into many of the clubs here that will enhance your practical skills and CV like no other college

Dislikes

The place is very remote and involves a lot of travelling
Not much of city life, just stay in the campus and have fun
Grading is extremely tough and hard to score good CGPA if not regular in studies

Placement Experience:

Only final year students are eligible for placements and they are given an option of appearing for it in either 1st or 2nd semester of their final year as per their wish. All big companies come here like Tata, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, IndianOil, Hindalco etc. At least 50% of the students appearing for placements get an offer between 10 - 15 Lakhs for core branches and 15-20 lakhs for electrical, and 20-25 for IT. Many Core students however shift to higher studies like MBA and Masters. As to what I will do, it is still undecided.

Bits it's magic

Likes

The landscape and night culture in the campus is very good .
The mess is well kept and the quality is well maintained
The professors are quite understandable and interact with the students frequently.

Dislikes

The distance of the campus to the main city is very tiring.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course which I have taken is MSc Chemistry which is being constantly updated on new studies and findings . The examinations are of three types they are quizzes , mids, finals . If we prepare daily it's easy for us to write the exams.

Rooms which we got for our accommodation
Games and sports facilities available in campus
Placement scenario of the campus which is at par with top IITs

Dislikes

Frequent quizzes and tests conducted by professors
Mode of transportation to go to outside campus places
Weather here is very hot and humid especially during summer

Placement Experience:

Placements here in bits pilani are very good like genuinely last year 96% of students got placed with highest package being 82 lakhs and average being 20 lakhs per annum ald lowest being 12 lakhs.Companies like Google , Amazon, Microsoft, LinkedIn come here for recruitments.

Campus life is wonderful. The peace and the enviroment which is there is remarkable.1
Placements are good. Most of the students vet placed if they sit for placements.

Dislikes

Rigid competition. The competition here is very very hard.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Avg package of the college is of around 21 Lakhs per Annum. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Uber, Spriklr, Flipkart, SLB, Oracle etc many bug mncs came to the college for campus hiring. 95 percent students get placed here. My plan is to land for a job after the degree.

The college is very good every official is student friendly everyone is very cooperative
The campus life very good actually believe me rock garden and all scenary is very good
Faculty will great you will love the faculty and recorded lectures will be available for the lectures

Dislikes

The campus culture of specific groups may be disturbing for some people otherwise it is managable

EEE department here is too good every teacher is dedicated we can choose our paths in bits Pilani itprovides ample of time and ample of opportunities to choose your career path the 0% attendance policy and variety of courses as minors stand the college apart from others

Bits pilani provide you the better placements during the placements session,the brand value which bits pilani has also produces you the great placements even for the outside campus placements. The average package will be around 18lpa which is great to see even during the ressiosion duration. The average package only for computer science students is some where around 30lpa. Companies like Samsung amozon jpmorgan do visit every year during placements

the campus is too good with awesome infrastructure
the all night canteen facility provided is vrey helpfull for students
the fest are very good you enjoy a loat during fest

the mess food is decent but not that good
the biology in the second semester is horrible to study and remember

the campus is awesome and you can enjoy lot
the AnC which is all nigt canteen were you can get food upto 2am
the fests here are at topnotch you get a chance to meet stars

Dislikes

the surprise quizzes conducted by the lectureres is difficult
the mess food will be decent but not that good
the weather here will be too hot and too cold in winters

Awesome campus and infrastructure.Good buildings.
Festes are at topnotch and there will be cine stars at the fest
All night canteen famously known as Anc.h

Dislikes

There are suprise quizzes conducted by lectures which violates 0% attendance
The biology subject in the first sem will be horrible
The registration process will be different from other colleges

The placement are good .A lot of companies approach the college during every placement session.The average package is 1800000 and the highest package varies year to year.If your academics are good then you will be placed easily

BITS WILP is a two-year postgraduate level course, in which 15 specializations are offered by the university. It is a degree course that is completed mainly on weekends to enable students and professionals to gain a full-time degree course while continuing their professional pursuits.

Pros

You get associated with the BITS tag
You can do your PG alongside working
The course is rather easy and with the right dedication you can complete it in 2 yrs.
The syllabus is the same for both on and off-campus students

Cons

You won’t be able to sit for PG campus recruitment
Not many companies consider this degree valuable and thus makes it is difficult to land a job.
The admission criteria are rather flexible thus the peer pool is not very filtered.
Most of the subjects are from bachelors and lack relevance and rigor
There is no visible difference in the knowledge base of the students.
The classes are not conducted by the original BITS faculty.

In all, I think the cons overshadow the pros and don’t deem this course a very wise decision.

Is BITS Pilani "Pilani campus" better than IIT Roorkee or IIT Guwahati?

In my opinion, both BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee are in the same league while IIT Guwahati is a bit inferior to them. Let’s discuss further on the basis of some very common aspects

Core subjects: BITS Pilani does not focus on core subjects and the research culture is also very inactive. This is because of the extremely laid-back curriculum and attendance policy. The research opportunities offered are very less in comparison to IITs
Placements: In this aspect, BITS Pilani definitely fairs better with its flagship Practice School program. Students of this program receive many PPOs from top companies during internships arranged by the college itself.
Campus life: IMHO BITS offers the best campus life owing to the student-driven culture and great academic flexibility.
Performance: The institutes can be evaluated on the basis of the performance of their students in various entrance exams. IIT Roorkee students score the best in GATE, UPSC, etc. while BITS Pilani scores well in CAT, GMAT, and GRE.
Peer groups: The average student quality of both the institutes is somewhat similar with IIT Roorkee giving a slight edge to BITS Pilani in this aspect.

Both the colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them is illogical. I would say that if you are genuinely interested in CSE, then Pilani will be better for you than Roorkee. But if you aren’t certain of your area of interest then choose IIT Roorkee for its IIT tag.
