Excellent placements: bits pilani has a strong industry network and consistently records high placement percentages, with many students securing job offers before graduation.
The faculty at bits are superb and also pretty chill at the same time.
Merit cum need scholarship is given to the best students who are poor but good in studies.

Dislikes

Grading is difficult , papers are also difficult
It has very bad bathing water, causes skin and hair issues
I hate the fact that there are lot of stray animals even in our hostels

BITS Pilani- Should IIT’s be scared ?

Likes

The exposure and senior interactions, everyone is willing to help
The fests, they are very top notch and every celebration is worth it
The campus, the campus is very beautiful with outstanding views

Dislikes

Outside city life is absent so we are very restricted to inside campus
The location, the travel is very hectic to reach here
The grading is a bit more harsh than iits

There is ps1 ( practice school 1 ) which is an unpaid internship in your fourth semester. The ps2 is in your fourth or fifth year depending if you are single degree or dual degree student. Campus placements are decent and definitely going to grow in the coming years. People not getting placed usually prepare for iim or look for other off campus opportunities.

great junior senior interaction,great sports facilities,amazing placement

Dislikes

this places has extreme climates it is very hot in summer and very cold in winter you can’t even have ac in your rooms

bits offer great placement opportunities almost every company visits our campus like in my branch cse the average package is 30 lakhs and the median is 25lakhs the highest go upto 1.3 year student are eligible for placement in the 3rd year itself

A Dream College

Likes

The scenery at BITS from the clock tower is just breath taking.
There are so many statues which make sure you can eat whatever you want at a minimal price.
The professor-student relationship ya something that I adore a lot.

Dislikes

In Summers, there are lot of bugs you need to keep away from you hostel rooms.
The walking distance between each class just makes you exhausted
Low voltage electric supplies to the hostels which goes out when a heater/cooler is plugged in

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from second year as there are internship opportunities which offer pre-placements offer to students with skill sets. Almost 70% of the students get placed into to world's largest MNCs and other tech companies.

BITS : A True review

Likes

People around you are motivated and not dejected for not getting IIT
No attendance policy is a boon for many .
The campus is beautiful and well maintained

Dislikes

Electricity Grid is not good in our hostel(just one of 14)
Prevalence of Intoxicating substances in engineering colleges in general

Placement Experience:

Students can sit for placements from 4-1 onwards but thet get prior opportunity for getting PrePlacement offers After 2-2 Practice School 1 isnheld which is an unpaid internship in a company, after 3-2 PS2 is held which is salaried internship. Where you can get PPOs Most students get placed, Last year highest package awas 60LPA around due to recession

I really like the placement scenario and that it is a top college of India
Really like the quality of mess and hostels.
I really like the qualification of professors everyone of them is either and NIT and IIT BITS or top institute graduate

Dislikes

I really disliked the location of the college.
It is either to hot or two cold every time in Pilani.
I really disliked that it is really difficult to get to campus as transport is very difficult. In the nearest airport is in Delhi for hours away and the nearest railway station is 30 minutes away

Placement Experience:

Student becomes eligible from the third year and number of companies visiting every year is greater than 200 highest package was 88 lakhs average package was 21.8 lakhs and median was 20.6 lakhs percentage of students getting placed is greater than 90

BITS Pilani, it's magic (but with caveats)

Likes

College Infrastructure, and Practice schools which provide internship opportunities without looking for one
Cultural drive among students to organised great events and festivals despite budgetary constraints
NO reservation policy leads to better quality of students at BITS

Dislikes

Distance from a metro city is too much, students had to travel till DELHI or JAIPUR (both atleast 200 kms) to buy any useful resources
advantage to students of Birla schools who get direct admission without appearing for BITSAT
Faculty quality deteriorating with time as no professors want to live in such a secluded college

Placement Experience:

100% placements (or atleast that's how placement teams crunch data so it looks that way). However, with time, inclination of students towards joining core branches has wore off and most of the students aim to get placed in either coding, consulting or product management jobs

BITS PILANI: It's magic!

Our college campus is very beautiful and elegant
Everything you want is easily available inside the college campus
Placement of our college is very good and average package is around 20lakh

Dislikes

Temperature in BITS pilani is very very extreme
College is located on the outskirts of Rajasthan
There is nothing much to explore outside the campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was interested too do research work in chemical engineering. I always had a fascination of creating things and research about it. Also chemical engineering in itself is a great branch to study and I want to do post doc.

Placement stats and annual fests are impressive
Clubs are good to improve our skills and extracarriculars

Dislikes

The huge fees of bits is its big cons and worst part is it keep increasing year by year

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunites are excellent. Some of the companies that visited bits pilani were Apple , meta, mahindra, tata, google, amazon, maruti suzuki etc.Students can appear for their placements from final semester of their course.the average package offered was aroung 26 lakh per annum while the highest was over 60 lpa the placement percentage are quite impressive and well above 90% for most of the branches.

BITS one of the best engineering institute in india

Likes

Campus, freedom, placement, food, hostel.
You will get food stall apart from mess and North Indian , South Indian, Jain thali.
Sports facility are good , every game they conduct.

Dislikes

May be they can modify course and focused on more placement oriented.
Should recruit more teachers who have more sound knowledge in their domain.
Not much to dislike, college is best and one more thing their fees is too high, not everycan afford may be they can look on reducing their fees structure.

Placement Experience:

Placement are very good Every type of company visit IT, finance , data science for different role like software developer, data scientist, semi co ductor Cse and electronics placement are best. You will get good internship 2024 batch students faced problem in placement because of bas it market situation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is good, there are vast opportunities to go into academia, finance, tech and core. Faculty members are highly qualified and from IITs/BITS or foreign universoties. It is extremely easy to pass as the minimum passing criterion is 10% of course topper.

BITS WILP is a two-year postgraduate level course, in which 15 specializations are offered by the university. It is a degree course that is completed mainly on weekends to enable students and professionals to gain a full-time degree course while continuing their professional pursuits.

Pros

You get associated with the BITS tag
You can do your PG alongside working
The course is rather easy and with the right dedication you can complete it in 2 yrs.
The syllabus is the same for both on and off-campus students

Cons

You won’t be able to sit for PG campus recruitment
Not many companies consider this degree valuable and thus makes it is difficult to land a job.
The admission criteria are rather flexible thus the peer pool is not very filtered.
Most of the subjects are from bachelors and lack relevance and rigor
There is no visible difference in the knowledge base of the students.
The classes are not conducted by the original BITS faculty.

In all, I think the cons overshadow the pros and don’t deem this course a very wise decision.

Is BITS Pilani "Pilani campus" better than IIT Roorkee or IIT Guwahati?

In my opinion, both BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee are in the same league while IIT Guwahati is a bit inferior to them. Let’s discuss further on the basis of some very common aspects

Core subjects: BITS Pilani does not focus on core subjects and the research culture is also very inactive. This is because of the extremely laid-back curriculum and attendance policy. The research opportunities offered are very less in comparison to IITs
Placements: In this aspect, BITS Pilani definitely fairs better with its flagship Practice School program. Students of this program receive many PPOs from top companies during internships arranged by the college itself.
Campus life: IMHO BITS offers the best campus life owing to the student-driven culture and great academic flexibility.
Performance: The institutes can be evaluated on the basis of the performance of their students in various entrance exams. IIT Roorkee students score the best in GATE, UPSC, etc. while BITS Pilani scores well in CAT, GMAT, and GRE.
Peer groups: The average student quality of both the institutes is somewhat similar with IIT Roorkee giving a slight edge to BITS Pilani in this aspect.

Both the colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them is illogical. I would say that if you are genuinely interested in CSE, then Pilani will be better for you than Roorkee. But if you aren’t certain of your area of interest then choose IIT Roorkee for its IIT tag.
