Excellent placements: bits pilani has a strong industry network and consistently records high placement percentages, with many students securing job offers before graduation.
The faculty at bits are superb and also pretty chill at the same time.
Merit cum need scholarship is given to the best students who are poor but good in studies.

Dislikes

Grading is difficult , papers are also difficult
It has very bad bathing water, causes skin and hair issues
I hate the fact that there are lot of stray animals even in our hostels

Faculty, courses, placement, hostel life
Zero percent attendance policy (doesn't apply to labs ofc)
Great alumini network and great catalogue of valuable resources from seniors and passouts

Dislikes

Too many evaluative components every week
Very competitive environment, feels like a rat race
High fees which keeps increasing every single year

Placement Experience:

Single degree ppl start applying from 3-1 end Dual degree ppl from 4-1 end. Option to do double Practice school also available to increase chances of PPO 193 companies visited Hyderabad campus. Job profiles include SWE, fintech roles, consulting, product management, core 95% placement rate My plans are to go masters or MBA abroad

Placement stats are great, helps confidence
A lot of scope to learn and discover multiple disciplines
Co curricular opportunities are beyond par

Dislikes

Fees is pretty high. Makes it a little inconvenient for few
Professors don't like engaging with students much

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is great. Lots of flexibility with time table and minor options. The professors are decent but done have an innate motivation to particularly teach. Grading is relatively difficult and average GPA also might be lower comparative to IITs

The campus life is one of the most cherishable things about the college.
The sports facilities and library are really good for those who want to take advantage of them.
There is no in time on hostels making it a really happening place at night.

Dislikes

The evaluative system is really strict and quite difficult.
The department selection process is quite vague and unpredictable.
Some of the professors may not have an accommodatory teaching style.

Placement Experience:

The college has a great placement record boasting placements of several crores internationally and upto 50 lacs domenstically. Majority of the students get placed during the placemetn season and all the major companies do visit the college.

Faculties are very experienced, and talking about infrastructure so it's built on around 360 acres land and is very beautiful.
I liked BITS placement statistics. They are very good.

Placement Experience:

Apart from the internship which is given after the second year, usually students get placement offers in the third year. Almost all big companies visit BITS Pilani whether it's Apple, Google, Uber, Microsoft, JP Morgan etc. The highest package was around 1.3 crores and the average of all branches was 18 lakh. Percentage placement is 71.83% if we talk about all branches.

The magical college- BITS PILANI

No Reservation policy which is the most unique thing and only deserving and hardworking candidates are allowed to take admission in this college.
This college has very good infrastructure , all the buildings are very old but are very good maintained including all the hostels and lecture theatre complex.
The placement of this college is very good. Once you enter in this college, there is very high chances that you will get placed with a minimum package of 10 lakhs.

Dislikes

Its high fees is what every student can not afford and that is why some students who are intelligent and deserving can not take admission in this college.
This college is located in very remote area and which is why it is very difficult to reach to this college. Also there is no connectivity apart from Delhi and Jaipur.
It has very extreme range of climate ranging from about 49-50 degrees in hot summer to -1 degree in winters which is why students from other regions sometimes finds it difficult to adjust here.

Placement is very good and we have an average package of 19.2 lakhs per annum and a median package of 20.6 lakhs per annum and the highest package was 1.3 crore. Last year there was 100% placement from my college. Student can sit for placement in their final year with a choice to sit in either their 1st semester or second semester. Nearly all big companies including Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, etc. visit this college and take a good amount of students in their companies. After getting my degree I have plans to work in big MNCs like Google and Microsoft.

Placement Experience:

Placements our college is one of the best in the country and may be among the best 5 engineering colleges in india after top iits. For campus placements, students are eligible in the fourth year or just after the third year. There is a great chance of getting a pre-placement offer during the SI(Summer internships) but summer internships are a little hard to grab as there a high cgpa criteria compared to placements if the same company is offering a role. Almost all the multi-national company visits and take at least 2-3 students and almost all the students who sit for placements get placed in some or the other company. The highest packages offered are more than a crore but only one or two students are able to grab it and as far as the average package is concerned it was around 19 lakhs last year. More than 98% percent of the students who sit for placements get placed. My plans are currently not oriented towards the placement as I am thinking of an MBA after graduation.

BITS Pilani - 2021 Batch

Likes

Faculty is very good and very highly qualified.
Sports culture is very good on campus along with two fests.
Academic flexibilty is very good. We can choose our own timetable and courses.

Dislikes

Fees is very high and also increased by 15 % every year.
The weather is very harsh here in each season.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because I wanted to explore the field of electronics and also there is flexibility to choose courses from other verticals. The faculty-student ratio is very good. Most of the faculty has done master's and Phd.

Bits Pilani is Magic

Placement Experience:

BITS Pilani offers good placements for its various courses like BTech, MBA, MCA, etc. In 2022, the participating recruiters offered 92% of placements for MBA students. The highest and average package offered to MBA students during BITS Pilani placements 2023 was INR 22 LPA and INR 15.9 LPA, respectively.

Campus Life at BITS Pilani

Likes

Social Life was very active with a lot of events
Hostels had all amenities and warden was available at all times
Faculty was amazing and were readily available

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from the 7th semester and there were multiple companies visiting the campus spread across various months. Our batch was fully placed with an average CTC in the vicinity of 9 LPA. After getting the degree, I did not go ahead with the placements and went for higher studies.

Great Aluminium network which is always ready to help
Great opportunities for sports and co curricular activities
Placement equivalent to 2nd gen IIT'S,barrier of atleast 10 lakh package

Dislikes

High fees,after every year fees keeps on increasing by5%
Disconnected from main city,you travel a lot to reach major city
0% attendance policy can be a disadvantage if the time is not used productively

From 7th semester (4th year), Google, JP Morgan, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, and many more you can check on bits Hyderabad's official page Highest package:83 lakhs. Average package:17lakhs. more than 95% placement in the year 2022.

BITS WILP is a two-year postgraduate level course, in which 15 specializations are offered by the university. It is a degree course that is completed mainly on weekends to enable students and professionals to gain a full-time degree course while continuing their professional pursuits.

Pros

You get associated with the BITS tag
You can do your PG alongside working
The course is rather easy and with the right dedication you can complete it in 2 yrs.
The syllabus is the same for both on and off-campus students

Cons

You won’t be able to sit for PG campus recruitment
Not many companies consider this degree valuable and thus makes it is difficult to land a job.
The admission criteria are rather flexible thus the peer pool is not very filtered.
Most of the subjects are from bachelors and lack relevance and rigor
There is no visible difference in the knowledge base of the students.
The classes are not conducted by the original BITS faculty.

In all, I think the cons overshadow the pros and don’t deem this course a very wise decision.

Is BITS Pilani "Pilani campus" better than IIT Roorkee or IIT Guwahati?

In my opinion, both BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee are in the same league while IIT Guwahati is a bit inferior to them. Let’s discuss further on the basis of some very common aspects

Core subjects: BITS Pilani does not focus on core subjects and the research culture is also very inactive. This is because of the extremely laid-back curriculum and attendance policy. The research opportunities offered are very less in comparison to IITs
Placements: In this aspect, BITS Pilani definitely fairs better with its flagship Practice School program. Students of this program receive many PPOs from top companies during internships arranged by the college itself.
Campus life: IMHO BITS offers the best campus life owing to the student-driven culture and great academic flexibility.
Performance: The institutes can be evaluated on the basis of the performance of their students in various entrance exams. IIT Roorkee students score the best in GATE, UPSC, etc. while BITS Pilani scores well in CAT, GMAT, and GRE.
Peer groups: The average student quality of both the institutes is somewhat similar with IIT Roorkee giving a slight edge to BITS Pilani in this aspect.

Both the colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them is illogical. I would say that if you are genuinely interested in CSE, then Pilani will be better for you than Roorkee. But if you aren’t certain of your area of interest then choose IIT Roorkee for its IIT tag.
