- No Reservation policy which is the most unique thing and only deserving and hardworking candidates are allowed to take admission in this college.
- This college has very good infrastructure , all the buildings are very old but are very good maintained including all the hostels and lecture theatre complex.
- The placement of this college is very good. Once you enter in this college, there is very high chances that you will get placed with a minimum package of 10 lakhs.
Dislikes
- Its high fees is what every student can not afford and that is why some students who are intelligent and deserving can not take admission in this college.
- This college is located in very remote area and which is why it is very difficult to reach to this college. Also there is no connectivity apart from Delhi and Jaipur.
- It has very extreme range of climate ranging from about 49-50 degrees in hot summer to -1 degree in winters which is why students from other regions sometimes finds it difficult to adjust here.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to become an electrical engineer and I wanted to pursue it at one of the most prestigious colleges in our country, so I chose this course. Faculties at bits Pilani are very good and we have a student-to-faculty ratio of about 8:1. Talking about faculty, most of them hold Ph. D.s from abroad and graduated from the top universities of the world. Some of them graduated from Bits Pilani. So overall all the faculties are very good.
Placement Experience
Placement is very good and we have an average package of 19.2 lakhs per annum and a median package of 20.6 lakhs per annum and the highest package was 1.3 crore. Last year there was 100% placement from my college. Student can sit for placement in their final year with a choice to sit in either their 1st semester or second semester. Nearly all big companies including Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, etc. visit this college and take a good amount of students in their companies. After getting my degree I have plans to work in big MNCs like Google and Microsoft.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees at Bits Pilani are comparatively high when compared to other colleges and there is a hike of 15% every year. So for 4 years, you can expect a total of about 25 lakhs. But also there are many scholarships that you can avail of, one of them is the Merit cum need Scholarship and the other is Merit Scholarship. Apart from this, you can also take education loans from various banks that Bits has tied up with.
Campus Life
In a year, we have a total of 3 fest that are Apogee, which is the technical fest, Oasis, which is the cultural fest and Bosm which is the Sports Fest. BOSM happens usually around September, and Apogee happens around May. The cultural fest of BITS Pilani i.e. Oasis is the second largest fest in Asia. We have one of the biggest libraries in India which has many books ranging from textbooks to literature. The classrooms of Bits Pilani are well equipped with AC and smartboard. The overall infrastructure of classes is also very good. Talking about Sports, for outdoor sports we have a large playground called Gym-g which has a basketball court, volleyball court, and football ground and for indoor sports we also have a badminton court, table tennis, etc.
Hostel Facilities
For 1st and 2nd year students, there are double sharing rooms and from the 3rd year onwards you will get a single occupancy room. In the room, you will get basic amenities like a bed, chair, table, almirah, and whiteboard. The quality of mess food is good as compared to other government colleges and you will get 3 meals a day from the mess. The registration process for opting for a hostel is easy and you can do it when you are admitted to this college. Hostel fees are about 35000 per year and are quite affordable.
Admission
All the students who passed their class 12th are eligible to sit in this exam. Although students can take this exam after a year gap (after completing class 12) also. To get into any of the 3 Bits campuses in India, you need to clear BITSAT which is the admission test. The level of the exam is simple, although no. of questions is comparatively more as compared to JEE. The exam fee is around 3400 for boys and 2800 for girls. There is no reservation provided by the college in terms of caste and income.
