BITS Pilani delivers ; provided the fees fits your budget

Honestly the physics courses and the faculty are very well defined , esp the dels which are optional courses we have to do. So being a physics major i can opt for a course called Stochastic Process which is offered by the Mechanical Department , which is insanely great since they align well with your interest . Their is great room for improvement in labs atleast in the Physics department , the biology department has impressive labs though .

there is summer internship as well as practise school 1 which you complete after your second year at college , which gives you an apt experience of corporate . After the PS 1 there is PS 2 during your last year at college which is worth a semester full of credits . Companies vary each year and each semester , for the first semester there is influx of it roles and core companies . Finance companies tend to come in the second semester . One may also opt for summer internship offered during your third year , however they have a hard cg cutoff criteria and few students get it .

Students can sit in campus placements starting from their second last semester.Some phenomenal companies that visited placement last year was BCG , Bain n Co . , Jane Street ,Amazon , Flipkart .Also there are many companies /startups which visit for non tech roles like PM / data (Xpedia) and many more .As for the tech and core roles if you have a CG above 8 you will be sure shot placed . Highest packages go upto 2 crores for quant roles since they are highly paid for .Approximately 81 % of the students get placed , I have personally seen students with a CGPA of even 5 get placed a job of 14 Lakhs per annum .My plans after getting the degree are to work in finance .

We have scholarships MCN s to be precise which are offered to the top 1 % of the students academically or students with income less than 12 lakhs .The admission fees was 50000 for us in 2023 .On average expect to pay around 300000 fees per semester including lab fees , hostel fees , common room fees and other insurance fees

There are three fests BOSM ( BITS Open Sports Meet ) for sports events and competitions , the cultural fest OASIS as well as the technical fest APOGEE . The fests are personally insane with artists like Anand Bhaskar Collective to Seedhe Mauth to Talwinder .Oasis is the biggest fests with a footfall of around 2000 people .The library has almost all the books you d need to gop through your course . Classrooms are in top notch quality and infrastructure wise . Student run clubs are the main attraction for me personally in BITS Pilani . All the fests are student run , the mess also is student run to a huge extent so consider 8 crores to manage .The college gives you a very good idea of how to handle finances .

For the first two years of your college you d get a double sharing room .From third year onwards you d get a single room .Hostel facilities include badminton court , basketball court as well as common room with AC included . The mess are slightly expensive and sub par in quality .considering each meal costs us around 75 rupees . There are also provisions currently going on for snacks time .Menu is considerably well balanced , there are considerable protein and clean diet options .

The exposure given for finance and Entreprenurship in BITS Pilani is well over what an average engineering college might provide you . They offer a minor option using which one can sit in finance placements with companies like UBS Deutsche Bank , Jane Street and many more .The admission process for BITS includes the BITSAT exam which is an MCQ based exam . From 2023 there have been 2 attemtps of the same ,earlier there used to be only one .However one thing to keep in mind is the BITSAT exams occur right alongside the JEE Advanced examinations as well the results .I personally gave my bitsat the day my advanced results were announced

Faculty to student ratio is low it is 15:1 , better than other colleges but still low faculty number . The faculty to student relationship is impressive .Faculties are very approchable . Tapomoy Guha Sarkar,Paritosh Shukla as well as RIshikesh Vaidya are very helpful and passionate teachers .Didnt like Biswanathan Layak for he s very unapproachable and is pathetic at explaining a concept to you .Apart from regular quizzes ( surprise or announced depends on the department ) there are mid terms and end terms . There is necessarily an open book section of 15 % in the course .The oveerall difficulty of the exams is high if the exam is easy the averages go high and due to relative grading the grading again become tough . Expect to study on avg 3 hours a day if you wish to get a CGPA above 8

Their is no intime in the college , so the nightlife is very eventful .The all night canteen is open till 2 am on regular days and till 4 am during exam times . The night life is the best during fests wherein events like the rave and dj start with the sunrise . Outside the college however there arent many places to visit , Pilani is a village afterall . Campus timings are 9 pm which is adequate since the pilani market closes around 8 30 pm and Pilani isnt safe after 9 Pm .
