Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum prepared by the teachers does prepare us for the real world applications and it is also up to date. there are also many lab courses also where students can gain practical knowledge of the subject and the techniques used in the subject. frequency of the exam varies from the instructor of the course. Usually other than the mid semester and the final exam, there are quizzes, projects, and presentations during the entire semester.
Placement Experience
My plans after completing my undergraduation is going for masters abroad, but the campus offers good placements. Many MNCs visit the campus during placement season and the avg package is around 20 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Semester fees is almost 2 lakhs to 3 lakhs. Merit cum need scholarships are available for high scoring students or those with financial issues. Admission fees to be paid once is around 50,000. Summer term fees is 90,000. Total estimated cost for the course is around 30 lakhs
Campus Life
Other than academics, there are many student run clubs that the students can participate in. There are also 3 fests held annually that attracts students from all over the country. these are the cultural fest, tech fest and sports fest. There are also meny opportunities available to people interested in startups and business.
Hostel Facilities
In the first and second year there are 2 people living in the room and after that single room is provided. in the second year you get to choose your roommate. Meals provided are quite good and acceptable.
Admission
I got admission into IIT Dhanbad through JEE Advance exam but chose to go to Bits Pilani because i believe that it has a better brand value and prestige. For getting admission in bits, you need to clear the Bitsat exam, where you are tested on your knowledge of high school level physics, chemistry, maths. And it also includes english and logical resoning questions.
Faculty
Professors are quite good in the college. Course syllabus, marking scheme, number of tests etc are already given in the handout of each course before the semester starts. Final exams are often open book where you can take the textbooks, slides, your notes.
Night Life
Facilities like gym, sports complexes, library, late nignt eating joints, parks, Students Activities centres etc are available on campus. There are no timings to enter in the hostels for both girls and boys.
