Course Curriculum Overview

4

There are subjects like biology and some mechanical engineering compulsary disciplinary courses which seem a tad bit useless to me. There are also technical report writing and engineering graphics classes which are ehhhhh useless. Other stuff like mathematics1 course and computer programming in c are very relevant to today's industry

Placement Experience

5

Placements in my college are probably the best in the country after iit bombay. ALL major companies hire from here in all fields. The placement process could be a bit better through but however it is not Another thing is placement stats here are quite epic for a private College And it is better than most iits as well

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is increasing, scholarship is on percentage basis so it's staying the same. Fees is quite high as it's a private College, it's still outrageous though. However, good performance is rewarded with very high scholarship and competition is quite high

Campus Life

5

So we have three main college fests Bosm is sports fest and has a lot of colleges coming over for tournaments in all sports Oasis is the party fest and is the second biggest college fest in Asia and it's really fun. There's lots of activites in the college throughout the year and it's epic Apogee is the technical fest of bits pilani and it's very very advanced. There's a lot of exposure to dsa, problem solving, cs, electrical sciences, mech design and so on. For clubs we have one of the best college club culture. Highly funded by alumni and other sponsors we have a lot of resources Bits also collabs with postman lab which has bits as South Asia's ambassador

Hostel Facilities

4

Basic necessities are provided in hostel rooms like bedsheet almirahs table and chair. Matress pillows etc need to be brought from the students side. Mess has decent food sometimes and other times it's really bad, there's no in between. There are lots of restaurants and cafes in the campus though if the student skips meals, it's usually not a problem The cafes are often open till 2-3am in the night so there's no issues about late meals too.

Admission

Bits is a very old college which is a important thing when choosing colleges, and it has a very reputable alumni network as well. After iits the next best thing is bits and that's pretty much why I'm here No reservation in this college ensures that no student is less potent than me and it ensures high competition.

Faculty

4

Faculty are very helpful if you catch them at the right time, elsewise they are very hard to get a grasp of. Acadmic curriculum is divided into midsems and endsems with tutorial tests and quizzes , all of which are evaluative towards cgpa. There is a buffer basis in quizzes and tut tests though, only best 3 scores of 4 tests are counted or similar model is followed. Tut tests are easy but they require studying to a basic level. Midsems and endsems can be open book or closed book .

In third year student gets eligible for on campus internships offered by big companies like google and nvidia. from fourth year students gets to sit in placement offered by companies called to colllege if that student pass the eligibility criteria mostly based in CG in semesters. In 2024 highest package from our college was 53 LPA from computer science and engineering. the average package of our college was about 20 LPA for CSE department and can vary based on skills and branch. last year about 92% of Btech students gets on campus placements. In reality i haven't decided what i have to do after getting my degree. I wouls probably do job or opt for Mtech or MBA or maybe least probable i would like to prepare for UPSC.
