- The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
- Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.

- Good Placement and Internship Opportunities. Over 200 companies visit campus for recruitment.
- Amazing Infrastructure spread over 250 acres. Greenery and hangout places are also there along with sports ground. Lots of societies and clubs. Big events like Saturnalia.

- The quality of infrastructure,hostels. Mess food is good. Rooms are very good. Cleanliness everywhere
- Quality of education. Studying in one of the premium institutes of india gives a self confidence boost.
- Student life is never boring. There is always an event coming up and the hostel life with the friends you gonna make is amazing.

- Student intake as there are approx 2500 students enrolling every year
- Teacher student interaction as the class size in lectures is around 200 depending on the branch

- I really liked the campus. It is big and has trees everywhere. You will really liked it if you like nature.
- I like the college life here. The events conducted by Thapar are also good specially Saturnalia.
- Also the teachers are fine. They are always eager to help you.

- I do not like the fact that placements are declining every year.
- Hostel accomodations are expensive. You also have to pay mess fee. Yet, the food is not good

- The campus is very beautiful, with greenery on every side. Skywalk is a unique part of the architecture, its an elevated area where students hang out. The infrastructure is all over great too, witb buildings constantly being renovated.
- College life is pretty great, with activities held in freshman year to help students interact and events held year round to help students relax after a long day of classes.
- Certain faculty is good, with teachers willing to help students out separately even and teaching with dedication and consistency.
Dislikes
- The hostel in-time of 8:30 pm. It is very early and even though the campus is safe students are not allowed outside the hostel premises after 8:30. Its seems unnecessary to restrict students without any proper reason.
- The food options within the campus are very limited and hostel mess food is also not good, its good only in certain hostels.

What is your review of Thapar University(Patiala)?
Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.
Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.
However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.
Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.
Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.
The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
