Life at Lovely Professional University

Likes

The culture is very diverse and I learned a lot about other people and cultures. There are people of different nationalities but mostly they’re from African countries and Afghanistan.
The infrastructure is very good and there are gardens and canteens everywhere.
There are a lot of events always happening and there is a whole building dedicated to extra curricular activities

Dislikes

Some faculty are not very skilled enough
Some times the university people act like it’s a school and opposite gender cannot be seen close
There isn’t enough transport inside the university and you have to walk a lot

Placement Experience:

I didn't choose placements so I don't know much but a student gets eligible for placements by the end of 3-1 sem. A lot of big companies like Microsoft, tcs etc come here and take up people. I got a job on my own in Hyderabad.

Not good in food provided by the mess and classes sheduled provided by university .and indiscipline behaviour of guards among the students . and crowd that you must scare of...

from 6 semester they become eligible for campus placement . Amazon.flipcart and microsoft and many companies . highest package 3 crore and average package 9lakh. 80percentage students get placements. . i plan to go london for my higher studies.

I likes the Campus Environment in my University, Placement is good in my college
There are many clubs to join for extra curricular activities like Sports, literacy, Speech, Dance etc
Teachers are very patient with teaching and doubt solving & Girls to Boys Ratio is 45:55

Dislikes

What I disliked most was the hefty amount of fees I had to pay that 232000/Yr
Scholarship Amount was Decreased as I took Admission Late as of in Mid September
There is no Extension for fees Paying, at most it is one week

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for Campus Placements in Sixth Semester. 31 Tech Comapanies Visited eg.TCS, Cognizant, Reliable etc. Highest Package is 50 LPA offered by PhonePe and Average package of 7 LPA. Approximately 80-95% of Students from BTECH program CSE branch in LPU secure placements annually. My Plan after getting degree is Abroad education and Giving CDS Exam to become Army Officer.

Highest package of 3 crore is given to the BTech student. Percentage is the most of getting placements. I also want placement after my degree

Lovely professional

First I'll say the surrounding just love it every where clean and techies fellows used to do experiment of their project and good support by friends too
Faculty is the the most important part where every faculty used to share their information In such a way that you can properly understand without any issues they will teach you by giving examples too.
Food of hostel Ill just say I loved it bcz they take care of hyzine and taste properly and healthy food will also be available

Dislikes

Library should be more big bcz sometimes we won't get to sit there and study
Sometimes network issues should be clear
Rest all the things are good no worries with that

Course Curriculum Overview:

Mainly field of interest in which field you want to make career you need to choose the field and as per those fields curriculum will be arranged by the the university head and faculty. During the curriculum projects will be there where you are going to do real world projects and if any doubt faculty will help you with that during the project you will learn a lot and by these way you can prepare for real world projects. In my field AI should involve in the curriculum should teach us from basics to pro.

In this college i liked 24/7 opened canteens.
A grand mall is there in college only which was very impressive.
Cleanliness of the college was A class no doubt.

Dislikes

Class timings were not properly organized, timing gap was 2 hours after.
Classroom were very difficult to find as they have a very big campus with a poor room guidance.
Campus guards were very rude and arrogant towards students.

From 3rd semester onwards students are eligible for placements. There are plenty of companies that visit this college like Google, Microsoft, Infotech, Mindtree etc. but number of offers vary depending on the company. This college's highest package i saw was 3 crores for an software engineer and average package was 6 lakhs for an analyst. Percentage of students getting placement is 80%. My plans changed after getting the degree because now i want to pursue my passion that is writing and be a script writer.

Life, Infrastructure and qualities of LPU

Likes

Exposure is the main positive point for the university
Also there are a lot of events happening throughout the year
Including co curricular activities to hackathons

Dislikes

Washrooms are only in building. There is no such facility in open and the building mostly closes btw 5-6pm

Placement Experience:

Placements of the university is amazing and mind-blowing. University gives you the chance to apply to various companies of your field. Students are eligible for placements after 4th semester or second year. There are companies hiring only one or two students and also there are companies having mass recruitment.

A Flight through Aerospace Engineering at LPU

The Labs of aerospace engineering are very well equipped with jet engines and 2 wind tunnels (all in working condition)
this has to be the major thing i like about academics, we have practical exposure unlike other colleges, there are various subjects where you are supposed to implement what you learn
the exposure to different communities is what adds a cherry on top, we have crowd from other countries mainly form African subcontinent

Dislikes

After the mid terms each semester we have a only 1.5 effectively for end terms and they have to finish half the portion so it gets a bit hectic
the classes are some times having a huge gap such as 3 to 4 hrs in between which messes up the productivity
hostels are very expensive: for apartment 2 seater ac it costs 160000 which is not worth it

Placement Experience:

students become eligible from 7th sem onwards. LPU does attract only a few aerospace companies such as TATA Advanced Systems, Air India , Spicejet. highest package was 12 LPA (Airbus but it was off campus). average package is 6 LPA. only 50 to 60% get placed others are either opting for higher studies or government jobs. Everyone is eligible to sit for placements if they have CGPA above 6. I personally would be persuing masters in AEROSPACE from abroad

What is your review of Lovely Professional University?

I completed BTech CSE from LPU back in 2016. You might say that LPU has changed since then, but I am still in touch with my juniors and here is my experience:

Placements: More than 550+ MNCs and startups visit the LPU campus for placement. In recent news, Yasir M., student of LPU, grabbed an offer of INR 3 crore in Germany. The highest CTC offered for the engineering programs at LPU is INR 42 LPA.
Scholarships: People might think LPU is pricey since it is a private colleges, but LPU provides scholarships to bright students with good academic records, good track record in sports, or extracurricular activities. LPU also helps students in the education loan facility.
Research: In terms of research, Stanford University has ranked almost 13 LPU faculty members amongst the top 2% of scientists in the world.
Faculty: The faculty members are from top institutes like IITs, NITs, IIMs, and top-ranked universities globally.

I am a BTech Mechanical graduate from LPU. Here is an honest review on the placement scenario at LPU (in engineering)-

The placement scenario is poor for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical. Few companies visit these departments for placements, and hire a maximum of 5-10 students in total. But if someone knows basic coding, they can sit for IT placements.

Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, etc. visit the CSE/IT departments for mass hiring. Very few core companies visit the ECE department for recruitments, so the students rely on IT companies. A mere 40/50 out of 1000 ECE students get hired by an Electronics company from the campus. The IT companies mass hire students at a CTC of around 3.5 LPA.

Being a graduate from LPU, I found the campus life quite joyful as everyone in the university is supportive. I liked the following things about the University:

Students get success in placements based on their learning and skills provided by the University. The University trains the students to grab high-quality job offers.
LPU receives numerous companies for placements, although only a fraction of students secure high-paying offers, partly due to the large student population.
LPU's campus can accommodate its many students, with classes divided into manageable sizes for effective teaching.
