Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was very likely to opt for a computer course because of my curriosity towards computer applications and how they work. This college's curriculum prepares students very well about basics and also tells how crack further academic exams and interviews. As of now i cannot think of any solutions to the course curriculum and teaching methods improvement. College provides 3 hours to complete exam and difficulty level was moderate.

Internships Opportunities

4

Big MNCs like Google, Microsoft, Infotech etc. come with plenty of opportunities in this college and there offer good internships as well with a stipend of 10000-30000 per month inhand. Projects are like to achieve a target or build an impactful solution. Outcomes were very impressive as I too did an internship in Wipro.

Placement Experience

5

From 3rd semester onwards students are eligible for placements. There are plenty of companies that visit this college like Google, Microsoft, Infotech, Mindtree etc. but number of offers vary depending on the company. This college's highest package i saw was 3 crores for an software engineer and average package was 6 lakhs for an analyst. Percentage of students getting placement is 80%. My plans changed after getting the degree because now i want to pursue my passion that is writing and be a script writer.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year-wise i paid 90000 without scholarship. Scholarship criteria is in phase 3 you get 10% discount, in phase 2 you get 20% discount and in phase 1 you get 30% discount in yearly discount. There is no tuition fees, registration fees is 2700 for an admission kit which is compulsory.

Campus Life

5

Every festival of India is held in this campus like Diwali, Holi, Independence Day etc. on there respective months. All relevant books are there in the library. All classrooms are provided with projectors. All facilities are there which a student needs in a campus. Sports and extracurricullar activities are also well conducted in this college as this college has given India Neeraj Chopra, Shehnaz Gill etc. like personalities. There are plenty of student social groups, clubs, student portals, I was also in a group named as Sapphire which was made to conduct big events in campus like celebrity concerts, seminars etc. in campus. Impact of these groups was very good on students because they learn how to volunteer and lead a team.

Hostel Facilities

3

In hostel rooms all facilities are there like attached bathroom, separate washroom, Geysers, study table, chairs, beds etc. with a cleaning staff every next day. Meals are of decent quality but edible and menu is different for every two weeks. Registration process of hostels is very easy and simple, one can apply for it from website or any internet cafe, Affordability is a bit on expensive side but college provides a loan for that also. I rented a PG at the locality called Law Gate near campus, It was not safe and confortable place for girls during evening because local people come there alot to interact with students and tease them.

Admission

I didn't apply in other colleges. I only applied in this college and got the admission. I chose this college because it was the best rated college in my state. Admission of this college is very simple there is one test called as NEST. Anyone can apply with a 800 fees from any city in India. Eligibility criteria is 12th pass for Degrees and 10th pass for Diplomas. Cutoffs are in three types phase 3, phase 2 and phase 1. If you come in phase 3 cutoff you get 10% discount, in phase 2 cutoff you get 20% discount and in phase 1 you get 30% discount in yearly fees of 90000. Admission experience was easy but time taking because of a big campus you have to walk all the way to another building for further processing.

Faculty

5

I am not sure about the ratio but if i have to guess the ration then it would be 1:10. Faculties were very supportive and very much approachables. When i was there my MEC class faculty Mr. Hitesh Vasudev was very comfortable and humble, I very much liked him because of his personalty and supportiveness. My PHY class faculty Mrs. Madhumita was also very nice. I personally liked all my faculties. There are total 2 Types of exams in a semester, mid term exams and end term exams. Med term exams are easy as per end term exams. Only few students which are very below than average fail to clear end term exams. Course curriculum was not relevant till second sem because it was about extra studying of what we studied in 12th class, after that sem it was very much relevant.

Night Life

5

There was 3 gyms in campus, one was of college's only and other two were run by students. Plenty of cafeterias were there. One big campus library of three floors was there. Few public area for students to relax. There are total 8 Boys hostels and 6 girls hostel in campus, boys hostels are open upto 8 pm, after that students have to call there parents to get inside and girls hostels are open upto 7 pm, same process with girls. Famous hangout place inside campus was Lovely Garden and outside campus was BSS cafe. This college is situated on Grand trunk road highway and locality is chiheru which is safe for all students to roam.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
