- Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
- I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
- I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .
Dislikes
- In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
- Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
- Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

the placements in nit calicut is one of the best in india according to previous years placements stats the number of students placed were close to 1100 which is a big number ,considering that previous year was time of layoff and recession

- Strong College Reputation: It has one of the most high standards of reputation amongst engineering colleges and has a top NIRF ranking.The college has a great set of faculty for all the branches who are experienced and highly qualified.
- Many Courses offered: NIT Calicut offers 15 different courses inclusive UG,PG and doctorate programs.All these programs have the best faculty and best infrastructure with well equipped labs and libraries.
- Beautiful Campus: NIT Calicut has one of the most beautiful campus that one has seen.It's lush green environment along with the scenic beauty of the campus, specially in the monsoon is treat to the students giving them a conductive atmosphere.
Dislikes
- Cultural Adjustment: NIT Calicut ,just like other NITs has 50% home state reservation making it quite difficult for students to interact as most Malayalam students don't understand hindi and some even tend to look down upon other state students.
- Hostels and Infrastructure: NIT Calicut has one of the best hostel amongst all colleges,the MEGA HOSTEL.However it is only for a specific year of students and not given to all.The other hostels are in bad shape with not maintained washrooms.
- Climate and Connectivity: The city of Calicut despite its beauty is far from the major cities and thus to get there you might have to change a few trains and flights having no direct commute.Also the intense rain can be unpleasant sometimes.
Placement Experience:
Students can apply for campus placements by the beginning of the 4th year.High paying companies are attracted by the placement cell which offer good packages to the students. The average packages for the circuital branch are pretty high.
Each year about 200 companies are invited. The highest package for Electrical and Electronics has gone upto 38LPA with average package of about 14LPA in the graduation year 2024.About 128 students had registered out of which 120 students were placed.The minimum salary offered was 5LPA.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-
- The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
- There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
- The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
- There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
- During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.
NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
