Likes

the campus has an huge area with many trees
most of the buildings in the campus are open 24/7
there is way array of people to meet and greet

Dislikes

some language barriers with outsiders and local vendors
the distance from main city is too far it is an 40 mins drive

Course Curriculum Overview

We had only 4 theory classes per day at the max, the curriculum is such a way that it focuses us to be book maggots, and we do get field assignments and research assignments. As per exams, we have mid-term and end-term along with a few class tests.

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 45000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee semester-wise is 72000 but I was able into a lower fee with an income certificate under (5 lakh) I had to pay like 42k per semester. The college offers many scholarships for Kerala people and sc/st people and to other financial aid people.

Campus Life

We have two major fests i.e ragam the cultural one, and Tattva the technical one, both of them are on a huge scale having a footfall greater than 1 lakh people in each. In the library, we can access papers from all major publishers. We do have many grounds to each sport.

Admission

I wanted to get an NIT in the southern region since going Northen affects my health and distance to family, the admission went smoothly thanks to Joosa, I had qualified in JEE Mains, and I had around 97 percentile.

the faculty ratio maight be around 1:15, i would not like to mention the faculty names but the faculty in genrala are were good. they guide and teach in good manners since most of them made there phd's from top college like iits and iisc etc the curriculum had an revision inlining more to course based

Placement Experience:

Placements cells are supportive in terms of networking with different companies and are readily active for the students competing in getting internships and placements. The college has a tie up with different companies like Infosys , Wipro , Deloitte , IBM , NVIDIA , Deshaw Private Limited etc. Students become eligible from semester 5 onwards for on campus placements. The offers made by these companies are 8 LPA to 9 LPA by deloitte , innfosys , and IBM but the highest package is being offered by Deshaw and NVIDIA that is 60 LPA and 47 LPA. The average package is around 11 LPA and the percentage of students getting placed are above 80%. My plan after getting the degree is to work for an IT Company to get the hands on knowledge about what the current technologies demand and get experienced in that and work further upon it.

From the semester 7 onwards the placement interview will begin.The company's like Infosys,Sutherland etc.But if we are doing externally that is also good.I'm planning on improving my skills first and then going abroad. The average package available would be 4 lakh per annum.

Experience as a first year student at NIT calicut

Placement Experience:

Here we recieve a really high number of offers this year it was around 970, The highest package received this year was 44.42 lpa and average was around 12 lpa Accenture, Bharat electronics limited are few of the top hirers, intel and nvidia also hire from here they are more relevant for ece students The percentage of students getting placed is 81% I will most probably try for a direct placement, I'm not thinking about higher studies(MTECH)after UG but that might change in the future

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Details Of NITC

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
