Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

Super college

Likes

I appreciate the climate of the college and course curriculums of M.Tech.
College life is very nice and there will be so many social interactions and faculty interaction is also good. Faculty will teach very nice and they are very knowledgable.
Many big companies will visit the college and on an average every company will select 5 to 10 people.

Dislikes

College politics and respective state people domination
sometimes feel stress while working under project guide but not everytime
There is not much details for disliking the college

Placement Experience:

from 2nd semester onwards, students are eligible for the internships and placements. Companies like Samsung, IBM, Texas, NVIDIA, Intel, UTS, etc.... visited our college and on an average 50 to 60 offers made. Highest package offered is TEXAS which is 39.5LPA for both analog & digital role and average package is 18LPA

Over qualified faculty with in depth knowledge
Really clean and well maintained campus with easy transportation facilities

Dislikes

College is way out of main town. Urban development facilities are mot easily available.

Placement Experience:

My branch is not an industry placement oriented branch. But placements are offered for higher studies into famed foreign institutes. I plan to pursue MS and PhD from abroad in quantum and theoretical physics.

I LIKED THE FACT THAT I HAVE MANY FUNCTIONS MOST OF THE DAYS .THERE WILL BE SOME CULTURAL OR MUSICAL PROGRAM IN MOST WEEKENDS .
THE FACUALTIES ARE VERY HELPFUL AND HIGHLY QUALIFIED WITH DEGREE ,MASTERS AND DOCRATE OR MORE.
THE INFRASTRUCTURE IS ALL GOOD ,AND VAST AMOUNT OF LAND IS THERE FOR US TO EXPLORE.

THE COLLEGE CLUBS ONLY CAN BE ACCESSED BY THE CLUB MEMBERS BUT NOT OTHERS
THERE ARE SOME OLD BUILDINGS THERE WHICH NEED IMPROVEMENTS
THERE ARE NO MOBILE CHARGING PORT IN CENTRAL BUILDINGS

NIT Calicut: In the eyes of a fresher

Likes

Campus, Sports, the whole vibe of the campus is amazing.
All staffs including faculties and non teaching staffs are well mannered.
Strict anti ragging policy which makes the campus a safe environment for the freshers.

Dislikes

Lectures are somewhat hard to digest even though the professors are ok.

Placement Experience:

Our college offers a bunch of varieties of companies to choose from to attend for placement interviews. Companies from many sectors like tech, construction, architecture and more visit our college to give placement interviews to the students.

First year experience in NIT CALICUT for a DASA category

Likes

I loved the campus and the atmosphere it gives to the students
The staffs are quite friendly and happy to be with us
The tag NIT gives us is something really great

Dislikes

Some faculties are not up to the mark as in looking into students
It’s always rainy and too humid so it’s hard to dry of clothes
Mess food is not great too sometimes I feel it too boring to eat

Placement Experience:

From third year which is 6th semester placement starts. Last year averge was 13 lakhs per annum and highest was 30 lakhs per annum the percentage of EEE is about 97.6%. I'll be doing a 6 months of job after placement and then go for Mtech.

Likes

The infrastructure of institute is appreciative
The teaching facilities and high qualified teachers
More activities rather than study schedule is offered such as gym,musuc club,yoga etc.

Dislikes

The bus transport timing can be expanded
Poor wifi facilities in the other campus hostel

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course literally concentrate on enhancing the morals and values need for teaching. It includes subjects like understanding India, evolution of ancient indian education. Also we have internships in schools so that the interaction can improve our aspects in teaching. The exam conducted is for 2 hours consisting of moderate level questions but refering from a library or outside reference can only help you to get great marks otherwise it may be difficult

The affords every one put to make an Fest or some programs

The Crow shit which is a regular thing of NITC
Some People Who smoke near the premises of college who belong to outside
Distance from hostel to college and class rooms

I rate 4/5 because I was not totally into the core of Mechanical engineering I strive hard to get the mechanics part but lose it The subjects offered by college are pretty good But balancing your Co cultural and academics is a bit hard

Strong academic reputation: Nitc is known for its rigouros curriculum and highly qualified faculty
Placements and internships: the placement cell in the nitc is quite active with major company in tech
Campus and infrastructure: Nitc boasts a lush green campus that enhancing the student experience.

Dislikes

Gender imbalance: The male to female ratio at nitc remains sweked with about 80 to 85 percent male 15 to 20 percent female students
Weather and location : the climate can be challenging for some, especially humidity and rainfall conditions
Rigorous academic pressure: Nitc high academic standards can be overwhelming with a tight exam schedule

Students at nitc typically eligible for campus placements starting from their 7th semester. Companies from diverse sectors recruit at nit calicut. The no of offers varies yearly but often reaches over 500-600 across all branches in top companies. Top offers in range of 40 to 45 LPA Average 12 to 15. Before you come to NIT Calicut

Likes

For ece dept labs , faculty and other facilities are really nice .
Technical fest tathva and cultural fest ragam are completely student run which gives students enough exposure
Lot of events happening in college give enough side hustles

Dislikes

Average placements and below average internship stats comparing other national institutes
Very average sports facilities . Not functional swimming pool
Lack of budget food n supplies availability inside campus

Placement Experience:

Nitc provides pretty good placements . 50lpa is highest n lowest is Ella . Average for ec dept is around 13lpa . Major recruiters for ece students are oracle , samsung , Qualcomm . Internship opportunities are very less

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are for the students of sem 6-8 which they can get placed to high money offering companies based on the students skills. The placements are pretty good in the college and i'm planning to get into IT sector.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
