Course Curriculum Overview

4

Actually my main focus was on mechanical engineering in NIT CALICUT. But then due to internal sliding my course shifted to electrical electronic engineering which was a bit of not an upgrade. Anyways I'm happy with what I got. The course got right pattern in terms of real world application. And many of the teaching methods are also good but then we got the old fashioned way of teaching and less practical which i see a main issue in Indian colleges. Because that's what we need in the real world. Bookish knowledge alone doesn't helps you to pick up objectives.

Internships Opportunities

2

Being a first year I'm not ready for giving comments over here but then I heard we get good variety of placements from our senior national to international companies come up for placements and give a good amount of package too

Placement Experience

4

From third year which is 6th semester placement starts. Last year averge was 13 lakhs per annum and highest was 30 lakhs per annum the percentage of EEE is about 97.6%. I'll be doing a 6 months of job after placement and then go for Mtech.

Fees and Financial Aid

So I joined the college 3 months before and my end sems are coming up in the next month. As a DASA student I'm paying around 3,00,000/- Per sem. I have applied for a scholarship which avails from my country where I passed my 12th grade from. For completing my admission it took me an approx of 4,00,000/-. So there are other categories like CIWG and the normal candidates like JOSA. These two categories will be paying 2,00,000/- per year at approx. under JOSA category there are a range of other categories too. Where they do not have tuition fees and hostel fees some of them are OBC, SC, ST etc. Now for in scholarships, different categories got different scholarships for example Keralite students got a scholarship called EGRANTZ. And other bank type scholarships.

Campus Life

5

We have thathva and ragam as fest and there are a whole lot of other programs too. Library is so feasible we get to borrow books for a time limit of 1month. Classroom technology is extended up to a projector I expected more to be honest. The sports and other extracurricular activity are really good and being part of the NCC is a whole level of privilege in NITC. There are branch representatives student councils and many clubs for our college.

Hostel Facilities

2

So we got full helping facilities. But the appliances in the college is too outdated for first years. The hostel I stay in was made at 1968.. its that old. And meal is average. As I am a full payer I pay up to 60000 per sem and for SC STs, they pay to 37000

Admission

I chose this college as its really near my home and has such a beautiful campus. The college gives us variety of placements. As of applying, I have applied in TKM, Amrita, and Rajagiri College of Engineering. I got back replies from the colleges I applied but then I chose NIT as the preferred tag for many companies. So I wrote JEE and had the quota of my country where I graduated my 12th std. we had online reporting and offline reporting that's all with admission process and whole amount of 4,00,000/- amount has been spent for the process.

Faculty

4

Some faculties are just too great and some are not. You can find in any fine colleges so I don't complain about it. Being a EEE student, my course have a hard curriculum. Especially engineering graphics is really tough. Electrical circuits are also kinda tough, for these two subjects there are many failures, I don't think engineering graphics is too relevant, because it just makes the course tougher

Night Life

5

The nightlife is so beautiful around the campus as the college got a land of 300 acres. The cafe over here is also super nice but then we got less snacks. We got three main canteens in the college and all are owned by different contractors. The gym is pretty feasible too. Public areas are so calm. All are open for 24 hours The hostel for first years are giving a curfew from 9:30 pm to 5:00 am. It's fully safe to hangout at the college

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows
