I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

east or west NITK is best

Likes

The faculties are very supportive and well qualified.
The campus has its own private beach a very soothing and calming location to go in the evening.
Laboratories and all the technology infrastructure are high end to work on your projects and other activities.

Dislikes

The mess food is somewhat annoying to the students coming from the north india region.
They do not allow any outside food delivery guys to enter the campus you will have to go to the gate to pick it up.
Some canteens are there inside the campus itself you can order the food from there till 3 am in night.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester the placement session starts. Average package is quite a good about 12lpa in the current scenario. About 80-90 percent students get placed every year from the college itself and also some students goes to higher studies. My plan is to get a placement after completion of my degree.

Courses in some semesters, water scarcity

Placement Experience:

In the 6th semester, students can sit for campus placements. All top Tech companies and MNCs visit the campus , however few of them come with a criteria of 8cgpa and are open to only the circuital branches. Highest package was 60 LPA and average is 12 LPA as of 2023.

Review of POWER AND ENERGY SYSTEMS in NITK

Likes

Faculty. They are well experienced and trained.
Campus is lushy green and has its own beach.
Placements. Almost all students get placed in the campus

Dislikes

The mess food needed to be upgraded to best.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college are good compared to many IITs and NITs. You can expect a good placement in the relevant domain, but one has to work hard for that. Highest in my branch is 39 LPA and the least is 6 LPA. 100% students got placed last year.

Overall all things are good in NIT SURATHKAL

Overall My first year experience was so good.
In IT surathkal we have a private which so this is the most like the things in our college
Campus life is good and faculty is also good your academic is academic here is so good

Dislikes

If you are coming in August so here always raining
And here is summer is so bad very hot very sunny day
If you are go on the websit so you see this college in 300 acres but when you come here you see only this college academic areas playing areas your hostel areas ground areas is over all in 150 acres and other 150 acres in your faculty your others

Placement Experience:

Actually placement is good but sometime we didn't know how to place go out of campus or in campus but what we hear in the college is placement is good and the data o level on internet is also good. Every branch every placement is 10 to 12 lacs

Campus life is enjoyable and there are many memories.
There is a beach in the campus which is really good
campus placements and packages will be good

Dislikes

Mess food will not be that good , but we have to adjust

Placement Experience:

Students who are currently in 7th or 8th semester and does not have any backlogs are eligible for applying campus placements. Some of the top companies will also be visiting the campus. Almost 90%of the students will be getting placed, but there may be lot of variations as per packages offered.

Likes

Beach, night canteens and I like library facilities and neat maintenance

Dislikes

There will be a cooperative society in our campus day by day they will increase the price of things which we buy

My course is totally practical way of thinking, We need all types of basics for my course. And I feel it's some what difficult And coming to my faculty they are very strict They don't even give marks for attempt also They need the answer in their way

Diversity in NITK surathkal

Likes

The green and vast campus. The campus looks beautiful with lush green trees , beautiful peacocks and birds.
The alumini network of the college is amazing.There are a lot of amazing startups established by our alumni.

Dislikes

The attendance policy. Students should be given more flexibility with respective to courses and attendance
Exam oriented curriculum. Most of the courses are more rote-learning than actual engineering
Auditorium could be more better and bigger considering the population of the students in campus

Placement Experience:

All the famous companies like amazon, google, Microsoft etc. core companies for branches like mechanical civil chemical etc also recruit students for internships and jobs. NIT Surathkal Placements 2023 recorded 92.99% placements for the B.Tech batch. A total of 796 B.Tech students got placed out of 856 eligible students. NIT Surathkal highest package increased by 21.6% to INR 54.75 LPA. NIT Surathkal average package stood at INR 18.26 LPA for B.Tech students.

Honest review of NITK by an average BTech student

Likes

Some of the professors are quite helpful and nice and I found their classes quite good
The festivals and events are plenty and fun. I had a lot of fun during Incident.
The beach is one of the best parts. It's a great place to relax and hang out with friends.

Dislikes

I do not like the method of teaching with power point presentations
I did not like the hostels. They have no arrangements for pest control and the heat.
The overall academic aspect was quite stressful.

Placement Experience:

Placement is pretty good. Our previous batch had much better placement stats than us. But I blame the recession. I got placed with average package. All 4th year students are eligible for placements. A lot of companies have visited. I cannot name each one. The average package is 9lpa. Software companies have offered higher packages than other companies.

Honest opinion

Likes

We have pretty good freedom in our college
for 30 years and fourth years you can roam in the College all the time even at night, no one is going to ask you
The only thing that I liked in our college is single rooms provided in third year and fourth year

Dislikes

Very bad climateclimate, humidity is very high unable to live in such place
There are many dogs roaming in the college. Don't know whether they are outside the college. There is a threat from them.
Even in night canteens, the food is not that great at least better than the mess food

Placement Experience:

the campus placements are pretty good every year even before our seniors were placed very good but the campus placement. This year is not that great maybe due to recession the students from seven semester and eight semester all eligible for campus placements. In BTech. Many MNCs have visited our college and many people were offered pretty good package from these companies. The highest package is around some 50 lakhs and the average is pretty low this year. I don't have any idea about the percentage of students got placed nearly around 65 to 70. My plans after getting a degree is I am moving abroad for Masters

NITK overall review

Likes

College life keeps you busy and entertained all the time
Very good location for trips to all major tourist locations
Very helpful faculty in terms of aid with projects

Dislikes

Stressful life at sometimes with students being involved in a lot of things at once

Over 900 companies visit throughout the year for placement. Highest package is 54LPA by Amazon for CSE student. Highest package for a mechanical student is 32LPA by Goldman Sachs. Average package for NITK is 9LPA.

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
