Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is good , which covers almost important courses for a btech studying student. There will also be lab sessions in which we can practically learn things discussed during the teaching classes. Exams will be more (quizzes, mid sem, end sem generally] and they will be moderately difficult.

Class Size: 35Course Fees: INR 90000 per year

Internships Opportunities

students who completed 4th semester are eligible for applying campus internships. Some of the top companies will also be visiting the campus for internships .Stipends will also be provided for the students(based on the company) .At the end of the internship we have to complete a project and then we can get a certificate from that company.

Placement Experience

Students who are currently in 7th or 8th semester and does not have any backlogs are eligible for applying campus placements. Some of the top companies will also be visiting the campus. Almost 90%of the students will be getting placed, but there may be lot of variations as per packages offered.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee,service fees and other compulsory charges for a student ,who is not eligible to take any scholarships is 90000 and hostel fee will be 32000 generally. There may be some variations for even and odd sem. For sc, st and other students who are eligible for scholarships need to only pay hostel fee.

Campus Life

There will be some college fests like INCIDENT(best event in the college, which will be generally held in march) ,and some technical fests like robowars, project expo , which will be held in the college. Clubs will be active in both technical and non-technical aspects. Sports and extra curricular activities will be highly encouraged.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms will be generally double sharing for all b-tech students(except for the 4th years) . Single rooms will be provided for the 4th year students. Hostel rooms will be good enough to stay. Mess food quality will also be somewhat fine .

Hostel Fee: INR 32000 per year

Admission

Admission into nit is through jee mains.There will be a particular cutoff percentile according which they will assign seats to the students into respective nits.All the details regarding application forms ,application fees ,important dates and other details will be present in jeemain.nta.in official website.Exam will be moderately difficult. Some times it may be easy also ,based on the slot .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum has the necessary subjects of the branch...It is constantly updated every year to adhere to relevancy and comphrehensiveness of the course..My department of AIML teaches us the necessary computer subjects such as Nature Inspired computing, Deep learning etc and also the Maths and Stats whch is required for machine learning is though too ( Like Maths for machine learn and statistical modellign, inferential statistics, time series analysis etc)..These subjects also have lab components which help us prepare for real-world applications. But some of the older subjects on the other hand which might be core computer science or in first year..common subjects like CAED and others are not required and outdated. The frequency and timings of exams is moderate..neither good nor bad

My Real Experience as a First Year DSAI Student at IIIT Dharwad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem. The highest on campus package this year was around 64 LPA, while as far as I know, the top 20% of the students usually get offers in the 16-24LPA range. The overall placement rate is good, but results depend a lot on your skills and practice

Though i needed cse with cybersecurity but i didnt get it so i went with Robotics and ai. In first year they have many subjects of all course which are basic and fundamentals of all branches Some are good in real world application They should add more practical stuff then theories We have 1 to 1½ month gap betwen internals and some 10 days gap between 2nd internal and sem difficult level varies every year

PES has very good placement opportunities. Placements start from the 7th semester. Many multi-national companies come for campus recruitment. The highest package offered is 1.5 crore. The average package is around 9 to 11 lpa.

A mini heaven on earth called NITK

After GATE exam, I applied to almost all top NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut etc during CCMT counselling . I had also applied in IIT Dhanbad in COAP counselling. I got IIT Dhanbad in 8th round. I spoke to my coaching Sir, he had advised me to go for top 3 NITs rather than IIT Dhanbad. Since these three NITs are well established and offer better placement opportunities as compared to IIT Dhanbad which is relatively a new IIT. One needs to qualify GATE exam to get a shot at taking admission in IITs/NITs. Once you qualify the GATE exam you can then look at specific colleges cutoff for admission. I got NIT Surathkal in special round 1 which was held after 3 regular rounds. I preferred NIT Surathkal as compared to other NITs since its considered in top 3 NITs and also it's near my home as compared to NIT Trichy....Read More

LIFE AT NITK

I had applied for other IITs & NITs with different branches like IIT GUWAHATI and IIT BHU ,IIT ROORKEE,NIT TRICHY as i wasn't able to clear the cutoff according to their requirements i got NITK SURATHKAL which was the best that i got i choosed the other colleges because of their higher placement records more average salary packages and the most OG thing is that i wanted the IITian tag but i had also got a seat allocated in IIT BHU in metallurgy but i didnt wanted to take it and finally i chose NITK SURAATHKAL because it near to my hometown Banglore and the weather is very good there it has a privatre beach along with a light house many places to visit around NITK SURATHKAL mainly a very big campus of aroung 300 acres and multiple number of sports opportunities it has 2 gym .
