Overall the faculty at nit srinagar is good they provide us with good study material and they have average speaking skills we can understand their lectures easily jsnsnjdjdhdhshshhsjsjshhshshshshshshhshshshshhshshshshshshhshshdh
It has a beautiful campus and the best facilities the library has a huge amount of books and has free wifi speed like 100mbps.
In nit srinagar campus placement is very good many companies visit and they offer good packages highest packages in our college is 40-50 lpa that is good and many companis like tata hcl visits out college

Dislikes

Placements are very poor as only 20-30% students get placed with an average package of 6lpa!
Rapid development must has to present here which feels bad about this college.
There are no oncampus internships you have to find one your own and let college know about it.they put restrictions on everything and no proper leave is given for the internship facilities mentor you correctly and guide you

Life of NITian's at NIT Srinagar

College administration is very good and helpful regarding our academic helps, they helps us on quick basis
Professors are very helpful and easily approachable, and they are of very kind nature
Climate of Kashmir is very pleasant , So very enjoyable and adorable in winter seaso

Dislikes

There are often strikes in kashmir, which reaches to campus, then security is increased inside the , and restrictions on our movement inside the campus also
Mess food is very horrible, not edible at all, the most worst thing about the Institute
5 seater rooms in first three years and single seater room in final year only when your cgpa is 7.5 or above with no active backlogs

Students studying in 7th semester or above are eligible for on campus placements rounds Companies as Aakash, Bjyu's, Ashok leyland, Aditya Birla Group, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Castrol, Vedanta, Shell, Microsoft, Shree Chaitanya, etc. Around 160 companies visites the campus for last year and does same for this year ongoing placements Around 524 offers were made last year and 280 offeres for this year are made yet. Highest package offered is around 39 lpa, while lowest package was around 6 lpa and average package was around 9.12 lpa Around 70% students are able to grab on campus placements Profiles as sales executive, assistant manager, assistant engineer, management trainee, management roles, educator, web developer, etc. Profiles were offered My plans after degree to go abroad for Masters as I want to learn more about chemical engineering in depth, andfor this I have started to prepare for GATE Exam as well Some PSU'S aslo visited the campus, they made around 14 offeres for mechanical and chemical engineering student combined Overall lalightly low average package but more offers to students

Life of a student at NIT Srinagar

The infrastructure is good as it us made in kashmiri style , and the location of college gives us access to explore kashmir valley and laddakh , So good places to hiking,etc.
Professors are very good , they all have completed their postgraduation and PhD from iit's , nit's and foreign universities , they have beat knowledge of their subject and area of interest
Course curriculum is well designed and it is quite helpful for overall developmemt of person, knowledge, and engineering and it also makes the students induatry ready

Dislikes

Mess food is very horrible , sometimes it is unedible , non-veg is 4 times a week in dinner which is slightly good than veg food , and special menu on festivals not also good ,
As kashmir is socially and politically fragile sometimes this results in strike which reaches to college sometimes ,this affects our studies due to holiday and additional security to campus
Hostels with 5 seater occupancy are not much good ,we get a single seater room in final year if we have cgpa 7.5 or above, with no active backlogs , if not you will get a 3 seater room

I am liking the campus views in the winters like in December to February there was snowfall in the campus all over the field roads was fully covered with snow that's so awesome.
I am liking the library facility it is just 2 minutes work issuing any of the books they gave us managed books slots according th our Branches and Subjects.
I am also liking the technical fest and cultural and sports meets held in our college it was terrific experience to us to know something new to now new innovative ideas.

Dislikes

Dislikes the restrictions that was so much highly strict about the college culture restrictions for the girls to not come out of their respective hostels after 8 PM it was also for boys 10 PM
Dislikes most of mess food it was so bad that was not worth it to us .what we are paying for it and what we are getting
Dislikes the games culture there is no competition held for internal playes to compete it was not held officialy by Institute

Placement Experience:

From the 7 semester we are eligible for campus placements .the most companies visited for placement are oracle ,vedanta .the highest package offered was 39 lakhs per annum according to the records from Computer science branch the minimum was 4.8 laks per annum it was offered to Civil branch student .percentage are different for each branch but approx 70 percent of all eligible and applied for placement got placed .after getting degree i was not got placed with a decent packege i was try to got place off campus according to eligibility and field requirements.

A decent college with NIT Tag.

Likes

The college has good skilled professors who have lots of teaching experience and their experience help us in learning the things more easily.
The college has a very good location and is one of the best NITs in the country in terms of beauty.
The course fee is affordable and you can complete your entire B.Tech course in less than 8 lakhs combining all your expenses.

Dislikes

The campus life is not so great.The college campus is just 67 acres so you will not have much thing to explore.
The placement of the college is not like the level of NIT. The average package ranges between 10-12 lakhs across branches.
If you are more interested in extra curricular activities then this college is not so great choice for you as college more focuses on academics.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement of this college is not so good. The students can sit in the campus placement from 7th semester. I have no idea about the companies which visited here and the numbers of offers made. The highest package in the current placement cycle is around 35 lakhs and the average is around 12-13 lakhs. The percentage of students placed are quite low in this college. My plan after getting the degree is to get off campus placement after gaining some sort of working experience.

From 3rd semester students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visted were Del, Wipro, TCS, ONGC, And other PSUS. Highest package is 2100000 and average was of 800000.Overall placement percentage is 60%to70%.I will prepare for gate exam after degree.

The environment here very nice, you could mountains from campus , dal lake is connected to playground area
Faculties are very friendly with students only , I got only one faculty which is very strict regarding attendance
Badminton courts, tennis courts , basketball courts ,football ground , cricket etc is there ,a small playground/park is available for each hostel hence overall sports facilities are good

Dislikes

Campus is small of only 67 acres as compare to other NITs
Placements are not that , except IT sector every stream is suffering
1st year hostels are old and small, we are 5 students living in a room.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good , only CS , IT and ECE students get good placements of around 15 LPA , students of other streams mostly go for higher education either for GATE or prepare for UPSC preparations.

The nature is very awesome of the campus. Alongside there are many places nearby to visit
The market is nearby campus of the institute . The Dal lake is in backside of campus
The faculty members are very qualified from top IITs and NITs with phd

Dislikes

The sports facilities are not very good in here.
The transportation cost outside campus is very high.
The hostel rooms for freshers are average.

Placement Experience:

Placements are only for 4th year students. But internships are also provided to the students of 2nd and 3rd year in the month of January and february. Reliance google wipro gail gas are the top recruiters. Highest package last year was 36 lakhs per annum. Average package is 12 lakhs per annum. 80 to 90 % get placed. I would go for mtech by gate exam.

The pros and cons of the most beautiful NIT

The nature is awesome ,and there are plenty of places to visit. And the sport facility is good but needs an improvement. The faculty is quiet nice and the hostels for seniors are great .
The view is fantastic, the locals are polite and adorable
There are great digital classrooms , seniors are helping

Dislikes

The girls to boys ratio is much poor in this college
The sport facility needs improvement. In cricket especially
The guest faculty is poor much of times and unavailable

Placement Experience:

The percentage of placement is high. But in some case cases don't get placement then we can go for higher studies like M tech phd etc. Or other hand we can also prepare for civil services, engineering services or applied offline for companies .
