Course Curriculum Overview

4

I liked the core subjects of chemical engineering and also beacuse of my keen interest in process engineering Since internship which helps for students to gain industry knowledge is for 3 credits and various ethical, technical subjects are included in the curriculum for overall development of the student, to make them able to solve modern engineering problem, project, research etc. Course curriculum much include some extra curricular activities also, through which overall development can be made for students. A semester is of 4-5 months here, mid term exams happens in 2 months and at the semester end end term exams are held and institute is very regular with academic calendar, exams happen on time as mentioned even completion of syllabus dates also matches, but by taking extra classes Exams are of moderate level , most of the questions are from professor's notes and question that they mark important during the lectures .

Internships Opportunities

4

As I am the student who is currently studying in the second semester of Chemical Engineering so I have not yet received the opportunities to higher does an intern in company but I would tell based on my senior's experience. Student studying in the 5th semester have to do industrial internships as mentioned in the course curriculum which is for 3 credits program Around 94% of the students are able to Grab internship during the studies in the 5th semester most of them do internship at IIT for research , project and industries as well Stipend varies from 8 k to 16 k Which highest stipend which a student got this year is 23000. Most of the students at IIT's are for research, and helps professors in their projects and industries to learn about them , and for their akill development .

Placement Experience

4

Students studying in 7th semester or above are eligible for on campus placements rounds Companies as Aakash, Bjyu's, Ashok leyland, Aditya Birla Group, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Castrol, Vedanta, Shell, Microsoft, Shree Chaitanya, etc. Around 160 companies visites the campus for last year and does same for this year ongoing placements Around 524 offers were made last year and 280 offeres for this year are made yet. Highest package offered is around 39 lpa, while lowest package was around 6 lpa and average package was around 9.12 lpa Around 70% students are able to grab on campus placements Profiles as sales executive, assistant manager, assistant engineer, management trainee, management roles, educator, web developer, etc. Profiles were offered My plans after degree to go abroad for Masters as I want to learn more about chemical engineering in depth, andfor this I have started to prepare for GATE Exam as well Some PSU'S aslo visited the campus, they made around 14 offeres for mechanical and chemical engineering student combined Overall lalightly low average package but more offers to students

The tution fees for 4 year B.Tech program is 1027500 Tution fees per semster : 62500 Hostel fees per semester : 8000 Mess fee per semester: 20000 Wi_fi, medical, development, lab, etc fees is around 7000 ruppes Whereas hostel amd mess registration fee is 2000 both And 12000 caution money is around 12000 which we will get back after completion of our degree And also institute development fee is around 10000 per semester Students who belongs from SC, ST, and financially weak background(family's annual income between 1 to 5 lakh) For SC, ST and candidate whose annual income is under 1 lakh have full remission on tution fees, but they have to pay other fees as hostel, mess, lab, wtc. Campus Life

4

Techvaganza is the biggest technical fest of Ksahmir, good to go inside the campus this time as it is very adorable, it happens in usually in second week of October Rang-e-Chinar is the cultural fest here which happens in the first week of April Usually all festivals are celebrated with decency Library has around 1 lakhs of book authored by various National and Foreign Author ,scientist and personalities ,various research paper journals ,etc. Are available to the students with the access of student ID card, They leave book to students 1.5 month for free and after it 1 rs per day penalty Classroom has projectors and digital boards which help professors and delivering their lectures and lecturer stands as well. There are separate courts for basketball ,volleyball , tennis and badminton cricket pitch is under construction which is going to be completed By April , Football field is well managed and surrounded by running tracks of 400 meters, Usually the equipments for hese sports are available in activity centre but students prefer to bring their own Clubs for dance, drama, debate and music are there under the supervision of a professor from mechanical engineering named as Dr. Dinesh K Rajendran Various student run social groups are present but they are private and limited to atudents only, helpful for students in connecring them

Hostel Facilities

3

In the first 3 year of B.Tech program students are provided rooms with 5 seater Occupancy various in the final year of B.Tech we get a single seater room in Jhelum hostelif we have a CGPA of 7.5 or above, with no active backlogs. If someone doesn't have these, he will get 3 seater room in Tawi hostel. For first three years Chenab, Indus, Mansar, Manasbal hostel are there for students. For girls 8 seater room for first year and 3 seater room for rest 3 years Mess food is very horrible and not edible at all They serves non-veg 4 time a week and paneer to veggies on same day, ao both have the edge Sometimes there are insects in food and I would rate mess food 2 on a scale of 10 . Perhaps Dal and rice are present in every meal Registration process for hostel and mess are together, at the time of admission they ask individuals if they want to opt for hostels or not , students whose home is within 25 km. Hostel and mess registration fee is around 2000 for both , which is one time fee at the time of admission. Radius are not allowed to opt for hostels. PGS and room are available near the campus at a distance of 3 km downside the Hazratbal Dargah they almost cost similar to hostels.

Admission

Also I have applied for National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand and I get a confirm and admission in civil engineering branch but I did not choose that because of low scope of civil engineering in India after covered pendemic I choose this college over others because I like the chemical engineering and its core subjects and also the process engineering and the college NIT Srinagar itself is the beautiful campus of 67 acres which was established in 1961 earlier known as Regional Engineering College Srinagar after 2007 it came to known as National Institute of Technology Srinagar as this college is old and we can expect a good illuminai network which is active enough to get internship opportunities and job opportunities and good connection in industries Admission in NIT Srinagar is made through JEE mains scores which is followed by JOSAA and CSAB counselling Student who get 98.5 percentile in JEE mains can expect computer science engineering branch here and student who's percentile is 95 above can expect material and metallurgical branch whose cut off is the lowest in this Institute Overall admissions schedule is not very hectic be have to report on the reporting date as mentioned on the institute website there are administration you are helping the every stage of admission so there is no difficulty in admission ,mine admission experience is well enough, because the Dean of Students Welfars helps students enough To conclude it there is no difficulty in admission process if all are do is we keep all are document handy and ready From last year onwards we have to submit all the fees through online portals only because the institute itself denied from taking cash and checques.

Faculty

5

There are 14 professor for whole chemical engineering department for btech., mtech and PhD programs As there is seperate building for chemical engineering department, So we can easily approach them without any hesitation, and ask for their help, they would help us as much as they can , sometimes they help my seniors in providing them internships Dr. Kurella swamy is the best faculty and course Co-ordinator for chemical engineering department Usually I like all the faculties, No one faculty is there who is annoying There are mid and end term exams in a semester , level of semester exams is moderate, Whereas most of the questions are from professor's notes, or they questions usually they told between the lectures, one can acheive good cgpa ife attend lectures and make notes Around 97 % students are able to pass semester exams, they are no difficult at all Course curriculum is very relevant for the studens for theor personal , their skills development and also make them industry ready for morder scenario

Night Life

4

Gym timings: 7 to 9 am and 5 to 8 pm Cafeteria and canteen timings are : 9 am to 10 pm Library timing : 9 am to 12 am As kashmir has lot of security issues, since there is no night life in srinagar, usually all the shopa and public area closes before 9 p.m. and all hotels and restaurants also closes before 10 p.m. Hostel timings for boys is 10 pm and forgirls it is 9pm, and also these are the campus timing Famos hangout places are Gumbad cafe, Dal lake on whose baks the inatitute itself is locates, Dal gate, Hazratbal Shrine, Mughal and nishat garden are good to go places And there is police and military in the city full time even in night, so it is not allowed for student to go outside , ya they can go but there are very much restrictions as ihe Kashmir is politically controversial area, so there are some issues regarding the safety of student. Better recommended not to roam around night in the city.

Other Applied Colleges

National Institute of Technology - [NIT] Uttarakhand | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Civil Engineering)

As civil engineering has not so much scope in modern India and also the college is new so not an active alumni network is much active

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
