Remarks

The college follows unnecessary strictness which is the main reason for the discontent among the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

In terms of academic syllabus, the college is following the guidelines of the university very strictly. The sessional exams are also in accordance with the university guidelines. In terms of marks grading, the college is having a quite bad reputation. Very strict marking.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement process is not very well arranged in the college. Very less number of companies visit the college campus and are generally related to 1 or 2 specific disciplines. The students feel quite disappointed with the placement arrangements of the college. As far as internship is concerned, yes the college faculty helps in availing the internship opportunities in various departments of Government and Private Institutions.

College Events

2

The college organises various events thouroughout the year. All national events are celebrated with great pomp and show. Several religious festivals are also celebrated. Various cultural fests are organised by the college which give the students a great chance to demonstrate their various skills. Many celebrities of the state as well as the country are invited in these cultural events. The college also organises charity events from time to time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible. The college used to charge ?60000 per year at the time when I was pursuing my graduation. This amount is exclusive of the travelling charges. The mode of payment is in cash or a bank cheque. They are still working on using online mode as a mode of payment.

Fees and Financial Aid

I had not availed any scholarships or education loans during the time course of my graduation. But the college provides scholarship to the meritorious students on the basis of a scholarship test.

Campus Life

2.5

Gender ratio was quite balanced. Not much emphasis on sports except 1 or 2. Religious tolerant institution with great integrity for the nation. The campus life is more or less kind of moderate. The college's security guards are very strict. One cannot leave the college premises on one's own will. You have to get a gate pass from the HoD.

Alumni/Alumna

My batch was the first batch of the college. So I cannot say anything about the alumni. But the faculty of the college is quite helpful. The college staff is very friendly whether it is teaching staff or non teaching staff.

Admission

I got admission thourough an entrance exam. Then according to the merit list, students were called for counselling process. Options were given to us to select among various institutions in the state. I selected YCET to pursue my graduation and then joined my classes in the month of October.

Faculty

3.5

The Director of the college is a person with a PhD and having an experience of at least 10 years. The HoDs are all well experienced and having post graduation in their respective fields. The teaching faculty is young which includes both experienced and fresher staff members.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
