Remarks

The positive of this college is that the environment is academic friendly and there is a level of strictness maintained by the college authorities. Lack of modern infrastructure and absence of various general and academic facilities hampers the ideal college life of balancing the knowledge and enjoying the college time.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is designed to know all the basics of mechanical engineering. Though I feel the syllabus is a little out dated, still there is a lot to learn. Various exams are conducted every semester. The internal exams are conducted twice in a semester, then the laboratory exams, followed by the final semester exams.

Placement Experience

3

Placement and job opportunities are less, and the main focus is only on academics. Only a handful of companies visit, and that only if you are lucky enough. Internship opportunities are also not there, we have to arrange on our own.

College Events

4

Annual fests are organised in our college, where students participate in large number and make it a great event. Various sports activities also take place during the fest, and there are various seminars once in a while.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty much on the affordable side. Thr annual fees is around 50-55k, which is affordable for a private engineering college. There are not many extra costs involved except for annual fests.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a scholarship opportunity for minority students which is based on the income of the family of the student. Major portion of the fees is waived off in those scholarships. There is no loan facility available in our college. Students who want have to arrange on their own.

Campus Life

3.5

There are good computer labs available, which can be used for useful purposes. The engineering labs are a little out dated and not as well maintained as they should be. This is a drawback, to compete with modern challenges.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni is helpful, though not much. It depends upon the persons. Some are helpful, some may not be. There is no group for alumni meets where the alumni can be approached in case any help is needed from them. The seniors try and help the juniors in the best possible manner.

Admission

There is an entrance exam conducted by JKBOPEE, known as JKCET(Jammu and Kashmir common entrance test). I appeared in this exam in the year 2014 and was allotted this college during the counselling round.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is a good mix of old and young persons, having knowledge about subject matter. Not all of them have the required skills as some are freshers and just starting their career with teaching. But they are there if you need any help.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
