Dislikes
- The campus life is not so great. The college campus is just 67 acres so you will not have much thing to explore.
- The placement of the college is not like the level of NIT. The average package ranges between 10-12 lakhs across branches.
- If you are more interested in extra curricular activities then this college is not so great choice for you as college more focuses on academics.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course offers wide variety of knowledge to be prepared for real world. It is specifically designed to make us effective in real world. All the curriculum is designed after anylising it's outcome which makes it more relevant. My one suggestion for improvement in the course curriculum is that the facilities should give projects which has best effect on our minds rather than giving written assignments. The college conducts 2 exams per semester namely mid sem and end term examination. The difficulties of exams are moderate to tough.
Internships Opportunities
The college provide internship opportunities for the students from the 1st semester itself. The companies which give internship opportunities include Google, tata, etc. Every company do not give stipend but the companies which give stipend is 15000-16000 per month. The skills which the companies offer during internship are machine learning, cybersecurity and ethical hacking, web development, android development, etc.
Placement Experience
The campus placement of this college is not so good. The students can sit in the campus placement from 7th semester. I have no idea about the companies which visited here and the numbers of offers made. The highest package in the current placement cycle is around 35 lakhs and the average is around 12-13 lakhs. The percentage of students placed are quite low in this college. My plan after getting the degree is to get off campus placement after gaining some sort of working experience.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provide 3 types of fee structure depending upon annual family income. If your annual family income is more than 5 lakhs then you have to pay 91500 in the first semester and after that 73000 in remaining 7 semesters. If your annual family income is between 1-5 lakhs then you have to pay 49833 in the first semester and then 31333 for the remaining 7 semesters. If your annual family income is less than 1 lakhs then you have to pay 29000 in the first semester and 10500 for the remaining semesters. If you belong to SC/ST category or you are a PWD student, then you have to pay 29000 in the first semester and 10500 for the remaining semesters irrespective of your annual family income. Apart from the course fee, you have to pay 8000 rupees/sem for hostel and 20000/sem for mess. A one time registration fee of 1000rs is mandatory for mess to register in the first semester. There is a lot of scholarship opportunities in college. The college provide PM Yashasvi scholay of the central government for OBC,EBC and DNT students. Apart from this, you can apply for various scholarships from diff companies like Reliance,HDFC,LG,etc. The distribution of fee structure is as follows: Tuition fees - 62500 Institute development fee - 2000 Library fee - 1000 Laboratory fee - 700 Computer fee/ internet fee - 1300 Examination fee - 1000 Industrial fee/ training visit - 500 Sports and extra curricular activities fee - 1000 Placement fee - 1000 Group insurance fee - 500 Medical and health care facilities - 500 Student welfare fund - 1000 This fee structure is for students having annual family income of more than 5 lakhs. If your annual family income is between 1-5 lakhs then your tuition fee will be 20833 and all the remaining fee will be same. If your annual family income is less than 1 lakhs or you belong to SC/ST/PWD category then your tuition fee will be zero and all the remaining fee will be same.
Campus Life
The campus life of the college is not so good.the campus is of 67 acres only. The college focuses more on academics than the extra curricular activities. The college hosts one technical fest and one cultural fest per year. The books and resources which we need for study are easily accessible from the central library. The technological facilities provided inside the classroom is very less. The college offers very little opportunities in sports. The college has several courts and grounds for several sports.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are not so big. The college has short of hostels. In one room, there are 5 students. One bed and one half wardrobe is provided for each student. Three beds are there in each room in which 2 are double decker beds. The food quality is average in the mess. After fulfilling the admission process, you have to get registered at your hostel by warden and he will provide you the room number.
Admission
I had applied to the various NITs during the CSAB counselling process. According to the merit,I got this college.I have not got rejections from any other college. According to the cutoff , I got seat in this college in chemical engineering during csab counselling. I confirmed my seat by accepting the seat and then I came to college and completed my physical verification to fulfil the admission process.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio in the college is more than what should be. The faculty to students ratio is more likely to be between 35-40 in the college. If you need to approach the faculty then you have to contact your class representative as all the students can not direct contact any faculty. According to me, Dr.Jaya Srivastava is one of the best faculty in the college. She teaches us english and communication skills. She is one of the best in her field and has very polite and kind behaviour. All faculties are good here and I don't find any reason to dislike any faculty. The college has 2 exams per semester namely mid sem examination and end term examination. The mid sem examination is of 26 marks and end term examination is of 50 marks. The difficulties of examination is moderate to tough. Almost 10% of students fail to clear the exams. The course curriculum is totally designed to get the practical knowledge of engineering.
Night Life
The gym facility in the college is very less. The slots for the gym is only for 75 students from each semester. The cafeteria of the college is not as you expect what should be in a NIT.The cafeteria closes around 10:30Pm and the central library closes around 12:00 Am. Hostellers are strictly prohibited to get out of hostel after 10:30 PM if it is not so necessary. The college is situated on the bank of dal lake so dal lake is the most famous hangout spot here for all the students.
