PDEU UG Admission

PDEU, apart from engineering, offers general UG courses like BA (Hons), BBA (Hons), B.Com (Hons), and B.Sc (Hons) under the School of Liberal Studies—each of 4-year duration.

Admissions are determined through a written test and an interview round. The B.Sc. program, however, does not require an entrance test, as candidates are primarily evaluated on Class 12 marks and PI.

according to jee percentile i have choosen this college and i need to take admission in cse branch so on that restriction this was the best option i got , its far better then many colleges in gujarat consider as 3rd top college and slowly developing . i coudnot make it other college better then this because of my jee score restriction as i score well in physics and maths but yeah i not mug up chemistry and it made my lose . i just applied to this college via jee jossa admission round and also through official website of the college .

I was from a normal background and wanted to build my carrer in a high-fly way which can help me to explore and learn more new things and can relate to the ongoing industry leve so i chose PDEU because it offers a large campus, good placements and modern labs and faculty in learning. i faced many rejection from different colleges may be by some ranking issues or some percentage or JEE exam score. It was just competition and limited seats. Eligiblity at PDEU requires 10+2 PCM subjects and admission are based on JEE score, Gujcet score or may be on the cuttoffs that rarely vary. I applied for Nirma University for chemical engineering for a safer side if I didn't get Petroleum engineering at PDEU. PDU has a specific Petroleum engineering course, where is University do not Petroleum engineering. in comparison with MIT Pune and UPES Dehradun PDEU stand in middle of these two colleges, the first in India comes, MIT, Pune, and second comes PDEU for Petroleum engineering The eligibility criteria for admission. Key highlights:

The score required varies on the overall performance and difficulty level of the question paper. One of my friends got admission in the Chemical Engineering branch with a 120 cutoff in JEE Main back in 2016. Chemical is among the fastest filling departments along with Petroleum and Computer Science.
For GUJCET candidates, a score of around 95 should be sufficient for PDPU. For SC/ST candidates, even 85 would do the same.
For JEE Main candidates, 130-150 is considered as a sufficient score for general students for getting the top branches in PDPU.

How do I get admission to PDPU?

PDPU or Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University is an engineering college in Gandhinagar. The campus size of PDPU is about 100 acres. It is recognized by UGC. It has been ranked 55th in India (2016) and 1st in Gujarat by NIRF. Also in the engineering category, it’s been ranked 177 by NIRF 2020.

Student Intake:

For the engineering field, it has 720 vacant seats whereas for the courses of liberal studies it has a total of 460 vacant seats.

Admissions:

The mode of application for the admission process is Online.
In PDPU, 50% of seats are reserved for the natives of Gujarat and the rest 50% seats are available for students from all over India.
The application fee for the residents of Gujarat is INR 300 and for other students is INR 500.
For applicants applying for MBA courses, the application fee is INR 1000.
The documents necessary for admission in B. Tech are High School Mark sheet, Caste Certificate, JEE Main Admit Card, JEE MAIN rank card, and passport size photographs.
Seat Reservation for SC candidates is about 15%, for ST it’s about 7.5% and for physically handicapped the reservation is for about 3%.

Eligibility:

For B. Tech courses, the entrance exam of JEE MAIN is mandatory along with the minimum aggregate of 60% in 12th.
For M. Tech courses, the entrance exam of GATE is a compulsory one.
If an applicant is targeting a course like MBA, a valid score of CAT/XMAT/NMAT is required followed by GD, PI, WAT previous experience, and academic records.
For admissions in post-graduation of liberal studies such as MSc and MA, the applicant has to take the test conducted by the Institute namely GUJCET.
Ph.D. Admissions are based on the scores obtained in the RAT(Research Aptitude Test).
