What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is very good. Clean and green. There are a lots of places to hangout
- The professors and staff are very easy to approach and talk to.
- The course curriculum is very easy to understand. There is a very easy marking scheme
Dislikes
- The curriculum is very outdated. There are no updates any year. The specializations combination are not deemed fit at all
- Some visiting faculties are so out of touch with reality and not dynamic at all. How has the HR team recruited them in the first place is very questionable
- The system of 75% attendance makes sense only when the college provides placement. There is literally 0 placement after undergraduate. In order to develop your skills to be fit for industry, one needs to pursue CFA, CAT or similar but attendance!?
Course Curriculum Overview
There were very limited options during admissions when there was the COVID pandemic going on because I didn't want to overspend on an education which was offline for 1 year. On a scale of 1 to 10, the curriculum prepares for real world applications at a score of 5.5 Everything is theory based. Practical approaches are very few. Course curriculum should be updated every passing semester, there should be bi annual audits regarding what the other universities are teaching vs what they are teaching. Some professors only read out from PPTs and are very monotonous. Mid sems are 2 months after the beginning of the semester. End sems are 4 months after the beginning of the semester. There are Internal Assessments conducted in between. Difficulty level is moderate to moderately difficult. The faculties have a personal grudge against giving anyone good marks.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of internship opportunities at decent places like Dabur, Maruti, MoneyView, Capital view, Bank of America and some more finance companies. One is required to compulsory do the rural internship or go to another country and do the AISEC course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees is 2,21,000 for the students from '21 batch. It goes on increasing every year with the new batch. There are scholarships available only from batch of '24 onwards. For students from foreign, the fees is double that of Indian students.
Campus Life
2 fests are held every year. Flare and Tesseract. Typically held in the months of March and October respectively. There are decent artists called for performances on concert night. Possibly the best thing about the college is the availability of its academic and library resources. We have free access to Jstore, Science Journal, daily newspapers, NSIE, economic databases etc. Sports activities are held every month typically. 2 major sports events are Energy Cup and Freshers' Cup. Extracurricular activities of the clubs are high in frequency. All the clubs are upto the mark. There are dedicated student run groups for finance, marketing, coding, music, dance, beatboxing, photography, writing, reading, speaking, social events, sports, yoga, cooking, management case studies, anime club, Korean enthusiasts clubs, so on and so forth
Admission
Applied to Symbiosis Pune, MIT PUNE, Ahmedabad University, KJ Somaiya Mumbai. I got a confirmed admission from all the colleges but I chose this college at that time because I had not researched properly and this felt closest to the vicinity of my home. No rejection There is a selection criteria comprising of 10th, 12th marks and extra curriculars. There is also a 1on1 PI conducted.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is 2:200. Faculty student relationship is majorly alright. Most faculties are easy to approach. There is no formal grapevine structure. But sometimes the faculties behave like they're not bound to be answerable at all. Shweta Bambuwala, Annie Royson, Nigam Dave, Rajesh Dave, Tejas Dave, Eshan Shenolikar, Himani Baxi, Nausheen Nizami are great faculties that are very good at teaching. They are well verse with whatever they teach. Nilesh Movalia, Rajesh Shah and most other faculties barring the names I provided earlier are unapproachable faculties. There is mid semester, then there are 2 Internal Assessments and then there is the end sem exams. Course curriculum is very outdated. Fees keep on increasing but course remains outdated.
Interview Experience
No GD was conducted. Interview questions revolved around personal achievements, basic knowledge of management related questions, extra curriculars, etc. We were also required to write a Statement of Purpose and an essay.
Night Life
Favorite hangout spots around the college include The Rubaeciae, pickleball, happiness food court, GIFT CITY, PDPU bridge etc. The campus gym, library and public areas are open until 9pm. Hostel in timings are latest by 10pm. Campus out timings are latest by 9pm (barring special occassions) Locality is very safe to roam around at night. Hangout places inside the college include Gazebo, Freezeland( by CCD), performing arts room, sports complex etc
