Ques. What is ITEP and how is it different from the traditional B.Sc. + B.Ed. route?
Ans. ITEP (Integrated Teacher Education Programme) is a 4-year integrated programme introduced under NEP 2020. It integrates science content knowledge with teacher education in a single 4-year programme, replacing the traditional route of 3 years B.Sc. + 1 year B.Ed. (total 4 years). The ITEP route is more efficient, saves time, and provides a more holistic teacher education experience.
Ques. Is NCET mandatory for admission to ITEP B.Sc. B.Ed. at JMI?
Ans. Yes. Admission to the ITEP B.Sc. B.Ed. (Secondary) programme at JMI is based on the NCET (National Common Entrance Test) 2026 score conducted by NTA. Candidates must appear in NCET-2026 and fill the JMI admission form with their NCET registration number.
Ques. What is the fee for ITEP B.Sc. B.Ed. at JMI?
Ans. The annual fee is Rs. 40,300 per year. An additional internship fee of Rs. 2,000 is charged in Year 3 and Rs. 3,000 in Year 4. The total 4-year fee is approximately Rs. 1,66,200, excluding hostel and other charges.
Ques. What are the career options after ITEP B.Sc. B.Ed. from JMI?
Ans. Graduates are eligible to apply for TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) positions in secondary schools (Classes 6-10) in government and private schools. They can also appear for CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) and STET (State Teacher Eligibility Test) examinations. Further studies include M.Ed. or M.Sc. in relevant subjects.

Ans. Yes. Graduates of the ITEP B.Sc. B.Ed. programme are eligible to pursue M.Ed. (Master of Education). JMI itself offers M.Ed. (4 semesters, 50 seats, fee Rs. 14,105 per year) through the Department of Teacher's Training and Non-formal Education (IASE).
Ques. What is the reservation policy for ITEP B.Sc. B.Ed. at JMI?
Ans. JMI follows the Central University reservation policy with reservations for SC (15%), ST (7.5%), OBC-NCL (27%), and EWS (10%) categories. Additionally, as a Minority Institution, JMI has a 50% reservation for Muslim minority candidates. There are also special provisions for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Kashmiri Migrants, NCC/NSS candidates, and outstanding sports persons.
