- It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
- The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
- No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.
Dislikes
- The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
- The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
- Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

- The infrastructure is the main attraction of our College. Huge campus with lush greenery.
- The maintenance is up to date and after so many year college charm is not compromised.
- The faculties are quite friendly and co-operative.
Dislikes
- The main concern is 85% attendance policy and they follow it strictly.
- The examination pattern is quite hectic. They don’t even give a day break between two hug syllabi subjects.
- The fest and events are not upto the mark. They do conduct the fests on regular intervals but still they lack some more arrangements and decoration.
Placement Experience:
This year over 300 companies visited our college and made over 1300 job offers.
The highest placement was 1.2cr/year made by an IT company to an Electronics and Instrumentation Branch student.
The average package of out institute is around 12LPA and in the CS branch it is around 18LPA.
Almost 95% students got placed this year and this is a general trend every year.

Placement Is Good Not Very Nice But Each And Every Student Get Placed Somewhere Average Pakace Is 10 To 12 Lpa, The Placement Coordinator System Is Good Which Brings All Good Companies Of Core Branches As Well As In It Depart Ment

- I liked the campus environment which is so large.
- It is the largest nit in area wise, and the weather is so good.
- The fog in winter feels very nice. I like the holidays we get
Dislikes
- I don’t like the food, as it is salt and mirchi powder deficient.
- As the campus is big it becomes a problem to travel here and there.
- The rooms are not so good, we need to adjust.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I rate The course curriculum 9 out of 10 as the course is so related branch core subjects even it adds other branch subjects by reducing the credits which is so nice as it allows to get to know about each and every branch's syllabus.

- Their is a jealousy between friends that should not be there
- Everyone should help each other in academics but that is absent here
Placement Experience:
Placements in our college are only based on skills. So if one failed in showing their skills then they can't get placement and one should be updated as much as possible for future jobs. They should learn new courses like ai ml and all. Most probably my college will give me good placement if not I will show up my skills and get good job off campus

- The campus is really big and beautiful. It is lovely cycling around. The lecturers and the subjects are really good. Our exams are application based, not rote learning.
- The people here are very friendly, they would go out of their way to help a stranger. I have never had any bad experience with a local.
- The diversity among the students is booming. The people in NIT Rourkela are from all across India. It helps understand other's culture and values.
Dislikes
- The campus may seem a little too big at times. Have to cycle just to reach basics necessities like the dispensary.
- The ambulance driver is extremely non-serious. He rejects emergency calls whenever he is eating. And there is only one ambulance in the whole campus.
- The girl to boy ratio is harsh. The ratio is about 1/5
Course Curriculum Overview:
My course is artificial intelligence, which is a booming branch in today's time. As the days pass by, the need for artificial intelligence grows exponentially. It is very relevant and has many output job opportunities after college. This branch has been introduced in NIT Rourkela for the first time this year.

- The college campus is very friendly and there is zero tagging policy that is maintained throughout campus
- There are multiple canteens at affordable rates for students within the campus and there are good amount of discounts for students in restaurants outside campus
- Other amenities such as saloons, stationary etc are all within distance for students

- Traveling outside the campus is a bit pricey
- Some of the infrastructure in the halls aren’t maintained

But the placement in my college are really good all students who get a CHPA of seven or above can sit for Amazon and Microsoft placement and for Google it is 8CGPA and they check your projects and works and everything this yearthe average package went about 18 LPA for computer science and many of the students to get placed highest was 1.2 CR this year

- The courses offered here are very broad and vast enough to complete all the competitive exam syllabus, you need not purchase any other course for your GATE or other engineering exam preparation, these courses are enough
- The campus is almost about 1400 acres. So it consists of everything you need in your day to day life, groceries,food stalls,sports kit shop,mobile and laptop repair shop,barber shop,ATMs,cycle repair shop and much more
- The faculties here in my mechanical engineering branch are like God gifted.they are too good in all aspects, friendly behaviour, excellent teaching, approachable
Dislikes
- The zonal game played over here is the worst part. You can't get anything if you don't get support from your zone. They have divided the entire campus into various zones like north zone, UP zone,Bihar zone, South zone etc etc
- There are other branches like EE and CS where the professors are totally mad, friends of mine have stated they feel like curse studying under them
- The mess food , it can be a lot improved, although it's good compared to other colleges, still it's oily,too much deep fried, sometimes raw

As I mentioned earlier the best aspect of this curriculum is that you need not lift extra time for your competitive exam preparation, if you pay attention in classes and follow the course curriculum and the recommended books, that itself is self sufficient to get you through any exam.so very well does the curriculum prepares us for real-world applications and further academic pursuits.
We have a semester of 3 months.(90days)
In 45 days span we have midsem and endsem

- The whole campus is a lush green campus with great infrastructure and facilities.
- Sports facilities and college fests are really impressive.
- The boys to girls ratio in the campus is around 4:1

- The location of the campus is not really in the city area.
- The attendance policy in the campus is very strict.
- Some of the buildings of the campus is very old.

The placement records of NIT Rourkela is really impressive. Students can apply for placements from the seventh semester. Multinational companies like Amazon and Google have recruited students from the campus. The average package offered is 12LPA.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience
- NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
- The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
- Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
- The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
- The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
- The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
- The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
- The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
- Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
- The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
