It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Quite quilified academic faculties also supportive in every aspects.
Since BTech is considered as very expensive degree but here it seems quite affordable.
Huge campus availability.you will find everything within the campus. Huge hostels with a ton of facilities like gym, badminton court,100mbps wifi connection etc

Dislikes

Here girl to boys ratio is very poor. But this doesn't have any effect on college academics.
More than 50 percent of students are form home state , which i does not like at all
Food is good but there is slight issue with one particular mess

6th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placement . Companies like google , Microsoft, facebook, Wipro, nestle, amul, grow etc visited and they made around 980 offers . Highest package got is 83.6 lpa and average package is 13.89 lpa. Percentage of students getting placements is 84percent. My plane doing something big in core .

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
